a re-issue from the classic stable. this time a little something from early 90s chicago - written by mystic bill and carl giamerese the record was a staple part of luke solomon and kenny hawkes dj sets throughout the girls fm and bar rumba / space years.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

as ljudverket is a heavily art-influenced label, the second release was made as a part of an sound installation for an exhibition in helsinki. rasmus hedlund & tuomo väänänens 2x12 inch album consists of 80 locked groove loops, 20 on each side. the installation itself holds 4 vinyl players, where every side of the records are represented as a sound source, from where the participators could themselves choose a random loop and thus create their own soundscapes. this is one for the collectors, and no more than 200 copies are being produced.

*how you say* is the new single from factory floor. this is the third of three 12 inch singles and contains part of a wide and wonderful selection of remixes. this third ep contains new versions, both from bookworms, who turned in 2 new versions that were so good, we had no choice but to put them both out. bookworms aka nik dawson, had recorded many striking singles for both l.i.e.s. & confused house, collaborating with steve summers. this is his second remix for dfa (the first was for larry gus) and we are thrilled to have him back in the mix.
