from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

now ovo, the eagerly awaited new luca bacchetti ep, is here! with this work on his endless imprint, luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago, but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist. in ovo we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, no gravity and the space between us, that maintain and harness luca s emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. mature, emotional techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. it is no coincidence that the whole ep was recorded entirely high up in the tosco emiliano apennines: a place where, for luca, nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. as he himself states: “it’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. they are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when i’m in new york i think of these mountains and when i’m here i think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that i find the seed, in this case ovo.”
