black repress! andre kronerts seminal exu ep gets a comprehensive rework from some of the most outstanding on the scene. tense and sinister new cuts from kronert introduce both sides of the release, whilst the label calls upon remixes from berlin mainstays efdemin and ed davenport, as well as hollands finest export juan sanchez, plus stockholm ltd label boss par grindvik alongside fellow swede peder mannerfelt. retaining the slurred vocal of the original, efdemin layers thundering effects over chasmic bass in his mix of into the zone, which saw heavy rotation last year. meanwhile davenport brings a wild yet streamlined intensity to c.o.d.e.2. side b sees grindvik team up with mannerfelt to provide a joint interpretation of into the zone, which they manipulate into a peak-time epic, with a soaring melody over hammering toms. finally, juan sanchez channels funk through roll the dice with a twitchy, groove-laden rework. the spirit of exu is made physical once again via 12 inches and 27 minutes of wax.

french producer juliano delivers the next ep, entitled * this must be...*, on his own imprint * that place records*. fourth in line on the label, following on from releases from visitors for reworks, mzkbx (aka sacha mambo) and love comedy, the now berlin-based artist gifts his very first ep to the collection. as a dj, juliano has spent the last 13 years honing his craft - first cutting his teeth holding down a residency at l ambassade, and then going on to play all over france and throughout europe. over a decade of digging and spinning has led juliano to develop a refined palette and a knack for finding tunes that make the dance floor bounce. strongly influenced by us house, * panaugust* is a real dance floor killer with its never ending synth. the more emotional * anthem for a friend* is a real tribute, drawing inspiration from chicago and detroit such as the real mess with its special rhythm & blues vibe. finally, cupid mess brings a touch of japanese mood, evoking images of an early-morning rising sun thanks to the classic juno6 sound. julianos ethos is that music should stay fun - preferring to keep things simple, but always real. watch out for this one.

goldmin music label founder romain lanteaume alias einka meets detroit minimalism master terrence dixon aka population one for a truly conceptual techno 12-.. terrence dixon is one of our favorite artists and biggest inspiration.. detroitborn artist released his first 12- back in 1994 followed by several quintessential records and 2 epic albums -from the far future- on legendary berlin-based label tresor. terrence is not only a great techno producer who makes subwoofers roar in clubs, he is a man obsessed by a concept, an idea that he s following from the very beginning.. -minimalism- in the reaaaaal sense of the word.. for example, when thousands producers are wondering what s eventually missing in their new track, terrence is rather wondering what s useless, what could be removed and that s definitely what he gets to share on his own -reduction- imprint. after the release of terrence s track -steve austin s mile- on goldmin theme lp, romain got to meet him in detroit during summer 2014. the aim was to make an abstract record that could still be linked to a feeling or a situation.. a1 the edge track is probably a good example as it s designed and built to make you feel like you get closer and closer to the edge while the track is slowly growing until you fall.. can you feel it? :) as for the other tracks, there is also a special idea behind them but we better let you interpret it your way

nathan melja is the same young frenchman whose debut ep we released under the name melja late last year. since then, he moved to new york and worked at mister hq for a few months, manned the light booth at the mister saturday night and mister sunday parties (djs make the best light guys), and spent most of his time outside that making music. leo draws is the culmination of that music-making, two murky but beautiful tracks centered around vocal samples and one off-kilter number aimed at the dark corners of the dancefloor.

french composer and multi-instrumentalist pierre bastien delivers the latest entry into morphines increasingly diverse catalog. active for over four decades, bastien is best known for building automated orchestras, and his most recent lp, machinations, was released on aphex twin s rephlex label in 2012.
for this latest work, bastien recycled components of his silent motors live set and assembled new mechanical organisms—using amplified meccano parts, motors, fans, rattles, paper, and nails—to generate rhythmic scaffolding. live instrumentals, from prepared trumpets to the african kundi harp, javanese rabab, sanza, electric harpsichord, bass, drums, and gongs, were then superimposed on top.
