British Born and now based in Berlin, Dead Fader aka John Cohen, most known for his work on Robot Elephant Records and the brilliant collaboration with Sensational on the ‘Work It, No’ EP, now joins the Touchin’ Bass roster with the ‘Dosage’ EP, a heavy duty, unrepentant body of work that exposes John’s diversity. Easing you in gently is ‘Booze Lair’, a slow building, infernal, smacked out foray that is both biting and compelling, followed by ‘Tired’, a fiercely adrenaline-charged, dynamic workout that moves and mutates, heavily laced with abrasive textures. The title track ‘Dosage’ is a straight up slice, filled with cranks and grinds which jars and grates, punctuated with weighty subversive beats and a low res undertone, followed by the calm after the storm, ‘Easy Sun’. An epic piece, pushing distortion to the max. No nonsense, this is one heavy slab of vinyl. Solid!
