james dean brown is no new comer. more than 30 years ago his live experiments with pietro insipido on drum machine setups were undoubtedly in the front-line of sonic innovation. before techno was even a thing, hypnobeat was already more techno than most of nowadays outputs, specially after jdbs encounter with victor sol and tobias freund in 1984 when the project became a proper, fully electronic outfit. in 1995, hypnobeat evolved to narcotic syntax, a band he boosted together with yapacc in 2003, with releases on perlon, wir and prospector. now, after joining forces with helena hauff, hypnobeat is back and its essence remains entirely preserved, along with its wild, free-styled approach to hypnosurfing drum arrangements.
in the late 80s i started listening to uk radio stations when i was a little kid and i instantly fell in love with the acid sound and rave movement that was portrayed on those uk dance shows. when i got old enough to attend clubs and warehouse raves, to experience the movement first hand, it was a nobrainer for me that the music and the lifestyle was my call. lately . in my dj sets and when producing music i have been time travelling back to those days. back to how i remember the music i fell so deeply in love with and that is exactly what you hear on this done/undone release. for the done track i teamed up with cari golden to have a female spoken word and a great message to build the music around. i always prefer to do original vocal recordings rather than using samples. cari understood 100% what i was after and i love the lyrics and execution by her. the spoken word is centered, very clear and deep to contrast the constantly building intensity of the acid patterns and thumping beats. undone is instrumental and has a more straight forward flow to it. its quite simple although the shifting groove patterns might surprise some. i was torn between two different acid patterns and decided to drop one of them as a surprise change. playing the track in clubs i quickly learned that the change of dynamics had a great effect. both tracks have been wrapped in dark-themed chords and atmosphere. both tracks have my take on the sound i fell in love with years ago and obviously still love today. i hope you like what you hear.
i am really proud to present this 3-tracker by victor ruiz on noir music. i think he is one of the best and most flawless techno producers right now and together we have carefully picked three tracks which perfectly showcases his production skills. i often write how ive worked with the artists on my labels to make their tracks reach their best potential. with victor i feel everything has been served to me on a silver platter as his productions are already perfectly crafted. although victor changed details right up until last minute, some of thesetracks also dates back 2 years, so he has had plenty of time to make everything sit and sound right. after a nine month break from releasing originals i feel truely honored that victor has chosen noir music as the label for this venture. both victor and i feel these three tracks compliment each other and at the same time showcase his skills to make great, diverse music. check the entire release. the music will speak for itself.
it is a pleasure to work with david granha and to present his 2nd release on noir music. not only is he a super talented producer but he is also open to taking his tracks a step further and in the process evolve as an artist and producer. i have been playing these 3 tracks a lot in my sets around the globe and almost each week discussed change of details with david. it makes me proud to have this savala release on noir music cause you can hear from the title track savala is an extension of his previous release on the label and with balea and mortal sins he moves his sound-design to new ventures and a more minimal, raw approach to the final outcome. exactly what i wanted from david. exactly what i hoped for and well even better. these 3 tracks just sounds amazing and they have been crafted perfectly step by step over a long period of time. a lot of passion, energy and love have been put into this release. on top of that the titles of the tracks also have sentimental value to david, so there is also a deeper meaning with this release. give them a spin and experience how powerful these tunes are.
this is the debut release on noir music from brazilian k.a.l.i.l. we have been working quite some time to perfect this first release from him on the label and give it the edge needed to stand out. after tons of road-testing and going back and forth with production ideas i am now happy to have 2 perfect tracks ready from k.a.l.i.l. that really showcase his super solid techno sound and production flair. involved (co-produced with any mello) is a quite simple trip with anys spoken word in center of industrial elements wobling it and out. this track works really well in the clubs because of its on point minimalism, the high intensity stacatto synths and the catchy vocal line from any. its not easy to do big tracks without big basslines but thats what k.a.l.i.l. and any mello truely achieved with this one. revolved is a track i signed already last year and since then k.a.l.i.l. has been perfecting everything about the track from small details to bigger arrangement improvements. this track has that big bassline that sits right in your face. it also has the right build for those peaktime moments in the clubs. i have been playing revolved a lot over the past months and people go crazy for those big bass drops. we are honored to have another great producer join the noir music family and proud to have another belter of a release ready for you.
repress incoming! a blast from the past... one of the most iconic tracks from the noir music back-catalogue makes a remixed revival. 3 impressive remixes to spice up your dj sets. victor ruiz makes bipolar star a fantastic big room techno stomper with his signature sound and just the right amount of melody from the original to make it recognizable. re:axis almost makes the track unrecognicable with a more minimal techno approach. something i am sure will please the forefront of the underground techno scene. animal picnic & aaryon almost pays tribute to the original with their very cool update keeping a lot of the original feel but cleverly tweaked the elements to sound super fresh again. i believe theres a little something for everyone in this remix package which was the purpose behind doing it instead of a bunch of remixes sounding the same. i hope you like the new remixes and put bipolar star right back into rotation.
its been more than 2 years since i did an original release on my own label. its been 9 months since i had an original noir release. i wanted some time without releases. some time to breathe, to think and most importantly time to be creative and to experiment. i have picked 2 productions i felt sounded different to everything else out here.
extra noir is a coldwave, minimal synth and post-punk soundtrack based in south korea. this is the first of a series of compilations, featuring artists from the hosts three most recent homes scotland, korea and texas. available on digital and limited release vinyl.
this is the 2nd installment of sable noir recordings: the jojoe ep, a 4 track vinyl exploring a deeper, sometimes darker minded side of the 170 spectrum.
the first 2 tracks by jojoe are some really deep, clean, and strong tunes, and also dancefloor destroyers, we saved them for years until finding the right idea to release them and this is whats happening now with this vinyl.
the first track untitled is a deep and dark minimalistic tune with a really strong bassline and some great cuts that makes it a fantastic dj tool for your sets.
the second track 97 is a clean and deep tune driven by some analog pads and a reese bass that will make a great job on any systems! watch out for the switch in the second drop!
the 2 tracks on the b-side are by joakuim the first one to chant down babylon is a halftempo dub influenced tune @ 170 bpm with a strong vocal sample and dubby bassline! the last track snow leads you onto a world of deep and cold atmospheres with a rolling beat and bassline!
this vinyl is done in the memory of joe holland, beloved friend and music producer. this ep is done for him!
after his very successful remix of slip away on noir music we are extremely delighted to release this incredible ep from olivier. paris based giacomotto is no new name to the scene but he has hit a sweet spot on noir music with his recent productions and this postgalactic 4-tracker might be his best effort to date. all 4 tracks move in the same universe but show giacomotto from melodic to the more minimal sound. its been ages since weve heard such a solid effort from 1 artist and we have been all smiles here since giacomotto decided to shower noir music with his great productions.
berlins mechatronica follows up on the last dez williams ep, with a new va compilation featuring the exaltics, drvg cvltvre, le chocolat noir and kluentah.
the exaltics and drvg cvltvre pack the a-side with gritty, hypnotizing acid burners, relentlessly paced and bound to induce frenzy. on the flip, le chocolat noir and kluentah (50% of hamburg duo fallbeil) dive deep into analogue driven electro trips, culminating with kluentahs 9-minute journey nightliner.
diogo s meticulous arrangements and idiosyncratic approach to electronic music have made him shine over the last years as one of the youngest and most promising talents rising from portugal. tanto amor is a 2-tracker ep of expansive excursions rich in detail, expansive low-ends, and rhythmic structure, and not only is this his solo debut on pluie/noir, it s also a warm and welcome comeback for the imprint after a long hiatus period. tanto amor (a) is a haunting composition of marching drums and crisp hi-hats, but its ever-mutating melodic arrangement, along with alba s hypnosis-inducing vocal tricks, creates a wide dynamic spectrum of sound capable of filling any type of sonic space. the flip-side wasame (b) adopts a freestyle, delirium-inducing approach where wacky minimalism and repetition do all the mind-tricks. elements communicate and move in a very liquid, organic way yet never losing the drive, giving the overall palette a slightly jazzy, improvisational tone. the ep s artwork also sees a debut of another portuguese talent, pics of you, using solely analog photography as his tool of expression, fitting to this installment of an ever-strengthening series of releases pluie/noir collectors were missing. limited pressings.
noir jungle part ii finds the italian producers cardace & perazzini once again demonstrating originals and exciting modes of expression, not to mention the extraordinary level of detail in their music. it rounds the project off, with yet more unpredictable diversions of their immersive sound design to paint a vivid and unique landscape at its most dynamic framework. swinging plans places the drums at the forefront of the mix, using incredible layers of brushed, rolling an expressive live recordings to create a truly thrilling experience that speaks to the deepest human instinct for rhythmic sound.
thomas schumacher is finally back on noir music with another outstanding 2-tracker. over the years me and thomas have become great friends as we click on so many levels and share the same taste in dark, melancholic and emotional music. i have been a big fan of thomas music for many years and i am still a great supporter of his productions today so obviously i am honored to release his music on my label again. on these 2 tracks thomas has recorded 2 authentic and raw tracks with a no holding back, zero bulls*** attitude. you can hear the no formular approach on both and i love that. we had an honest and creative back and forth a&r process on both tracks before and after testing them in the clubs and this has given both a unique and fresh techno sound. this is thomas schumachers natural rhythm.
tone depth has been making music for many years but he doesnt seem to get older...... he just gets better and better. this is his 2nd release on noir music and i can assure you theres more to come in the near future. escape contains 3 instrumental and very intense tracks. they are all cleverly build for the underground floors. they each have their own special signature and carry that powerful tone depth production level. each track on this ep immediatley made me escape into the music, took me on a journey and captivated my attention throughout the running minutes of each piece. i have been playing these tracks since the day i received them track by track and they really do grow on you (play for play) like great music always tend to do.
dissonant is back with a very significant new signing, cardace & perazzini and their most complete artistic statement to the date displayed in two parts. noir jungle part i, sets the tone to this exciting project where the talented italian duo explores different dimensions, taking house and techno as basis to build up with amazing diversity a truly unique style on top of it

this 4-tracker from spanish affkt might quite simply be his best release to date. i have always admired his different and quirky productions and as the followers will know we have released tracks with affkt before.this time me and marc (aka affkt) went deep into a&r ing the release to make sure all tracks reached their full potential. tracks have been added and removed from the release over time. the tracks have been re-arranged, adjusted, revisited over a period of 9 months time (yes thats how much time we spent carefully putting this release together and making sure it was perfect). i am really proud of what marc acomplished with this release on noir music. all 4 tracks work really well in the clubs and they each have a very strong affkt signature which i wont bother describing in detail by words but rather have you listen to these amazing squared pieces.
jos & eli might seem unknown to many electronic music lovers but they have been releasing great music since 2013. they have been sending me music for a long time and i think we have spend about a year developing this first release on noir music, making sure it represented their debut on the label perfectly.
when you hear the adrenaline hunt release you will notice that the 2 guys from tel-aviv have developed into a great production team over the years and these 3 tracks included here are not only cleverly crafted for the deeper dancefloors but can also be enjoyed on home stereos.
douglas greeds (freude am tanzen, bpitch) first ep for noir music. and as he really likes when a man sings on a track he features kuss and gjaezon for each track. remix works are coming from dapayk (mos ferry, stil vor talent) and einzelkind & robin scholz (cecille, kindisch, off).
the half mexican half french drum and bass label, based in both countries, and launched in 2016, created and owned by joaquim plossu in order to release deep and liquid jazzy music @ 170 bpm, and also at other tempos. sable noir recordings provides us with a platform to release quality music, in vinyl format and also digital.
nice price deal !!! jimmy edgar is back, this time under his noir friction alter ego to deliver a raw warehouse styled cut. a very basic, yet catchy track that sticks after the first play. comes in vocal and instrumental mix. house at its purest. night moves is a rush hour produced sublabel that will focus on raw electronic dance tracks.
croatia s le chocolat noir debuts on charlois with four cuts of embittered, ebm inspired, electronics. an ep of contrasts. wrenching vocals are scored by brash synthlines. slicing snares, countered by a cold and bright hope. frigid warmth from the heart of zagreb.
la dame noir is one of marseille s most reliable outposts for serious disco-flavoured grooves both in the club and as a label, and now they make the leap to vinyl with a crucial collection of remixes from serious heads. pete herbert steps up first to rework m.u.s.i.q.u.e s -over to you-, turning the original into a simmering, noirish burner with speak and spell vox in the foreground. meanwhile herbert s take on nouveau rom s -timide comme un ange- is a looped-up dream of a groove that positively takes off when the peak section kicks in. dj steef then echoes the remix choices on the b-side, subtly edging the nouveau rom track into an even airier version before creating an emotional twist on -over to you-.
2016 repress incoming!
jay lumen needs no introduction as he has been important to the tech and techno scene for years now. after several releases on labels like drumcode, octopus, relief, suara, off etc. we are happy to have him back on noir music with this fantastic tech stomper our freedom that has a little bit of everything. the remixes comes from la fleur and traumer. both are among our favorite producers at the moment and we are happy to write that both did an excellent remix job making sure we got fantastic alternative versions here.
hydro & war have already had a 12 on inside recordings, the horizons offshoot label which was entitled black light.
that 12 was so well received, the duo were invited to compose music for horizons. this is the first single, and sees hydro & war go back to black with film noir a shuffling soundtrack with juxtapose samples and throbbing bass.
the flip mistrust is an edgy number, unease, uncertainty, but a panache for detail.
one thing is clear, hydro, horizons and his collective are ones to watch.
