4th release by klasse recordings is the debut for johanna knutsson, who comes up with a soulful house-groover, driven by thick basslines. on the flip minilogue take the track on an epic, dubby and acidic trip through their analogue world.
extremely heavy off-label reworking of steve reichs 2x5 (movement 3, fast) by ukraines vakula. comes with a bonus track on the flip. raw, analogue and organic. act fast as this is limited and will not be re-pressed. hand stamped, translucent vinyl, 180g.
beretta grey returns with another stellar release, keith kemps 2045 ep! keith kemp turns the clock to the afterhours, with two sizzling and intelligent minimal dance floor inventions. big lee curtiss remix!
mr. st plomb makes everything groovy! the title track >wild at heart< is a banger. a banger with a sexy smile. full-blown organs. irresistibly funky steel-drums. and a little cosmic-ambient flirtation. dig a little deeper with house maestro agnes favela funk mixx, and get carried away in a dubby maelstrom that could turn any afterhour-celebration upsidedown. straight-up dancefloor fodder is st plombs chord-ridden b-side offering >life s here (aint we lucky?)<. a funky bass for a loving race? chicago, here we come!
danny howells returns with a new series on dig depper, featuring tracks by alex dolby & giorgio, benny rodrigues and danny howells. remixes coming from deetron and russ gabriel.
the mighty antidandruff returns after few years of sleep. this time its a bit more conceptual ep than usually. ep starts with a moody sandwell mix of >kulenty< (released on pvc8) produced probably by regis in the berlins sandwell district busy studios. the other 3 tracks are by rumenige & loktibrada resp. loktibrada alone, with each track the tempo is rising up a bit and its all club techno, of course.
already supported by loco dice, catz n dogz, mihai popoviciu...mike spirit and rayo continue their cooltool journey into classy contemporary house music. after highly acclaimed debut >southwater ep< by technique & yaroslove (including alexkid and patrick zigon remixes) new release is on the way. please welcome v!ctor & lownza (jett, frabon records) who deliver massive house tune >bit my jazz< straight from smoky parisian dancefloors. another french veteran chris carrier (proud owner of catwash and adult only imprints also releasing his music on such well-known labels as robsoul, bass culture, off, spectral sound and, finally, freak n chic) is responsible for two driving remix tools - and we must say, this is carriers sound in its finest!
although the damage music berlin label is still in its youth, the creative input is not holding its breath too long: after the success of the damage release dirty doering >loco remixes<, this issue presents a new 12ep that puts even more excellent and fresh urban breath into modern club music. first up is >whats the point?<, a collaboration with label chief alexander kowalski together with jake the rapper. by teaming up with jake the urban electronic guerilla, a cunning and highly-effective headbanging is produced, harvesting a moody and darkly infectious spoken text. >it all boils down< ... what unfolds here is an intense yet uncluttered soundtrack surrounding a mystifying message of sexually metapysical proportions crafted and totally engaging.
big with: nick warren, mihalis safras, pig & dan, peter horrevorts, chrisitan smith, joris voorn, cristian varela,..
in the aeroplane chart mix march 2011, loved by justice, a-trak, rex the dog, headman and the most blogged and tweeted track on hype machine, >out of my mind< by tyson is doomed to take-over the coolest dance-floors in the world.
the w (no relation to the us hotel chain) presents its debut ep on mako called >victim<.
the title track is a slow action blockbuster accompanied by the sexy industrial-type vocals. the track pays the ultimate homage to french electronics of the past couple of years.
also on the ep are the tracks >wrack<, the sinister cut-up distortion number which starts out with an evil hip-hop beat and then turns into a proper techno banger, as well as >arabic< which is full of sitars and psychedelic tension. makos in-house talent polymorphic provides a hot remix.
supported by: brodinski, mixhell, nt89, eriq johnson, evol intent, polymorphic, thomas von party, autodidakt, tony anthun, haezer, volatile, aerotronic ...
the italian disco producer has previously appearing playing bass alongside the heels of love (tirk) but turns out a spectacular solo summer burner with sparkling vocals from miss bee. ray mang (dfa, noid) turns up the heat a notch delivering a slow pop groover that shuffles and slips through a well crafted boogie beat underpinned with a grinding baseline. already receiving early support from bill brewster and many of the usual disco mafia. lithuanian super produce mario basanov (future classics, under the shade) further enhances the summer vibe with a glistening and warm house rework. perfect for poolside antics. the original retains the growling bass line which seems to constantly build and build. miss bee (former outings alongside toby tobias) laces delicate vocal which juxtapose the track perfectly. last but my no means least is a dance floor bomb, courtesy of bonar bradberry (needwant, under the shade) who remixes the original panzerotti track into an epic that will shift even the most stubborn of head nodders
we have a remix treat in store in the shape of an old zen classic - >rhubarb n custard<. remixed by the mighty taxman and on the other side a dubstep vip remix of >full effect< by zen.
if you havnt heard the original >rhubarb n custard< where have you been in the last 6 years... the original earned zen respect from a broad range of djs on the circuit, championed by andy c, grooverider, pendulum, roni size to name a few.
second installment on colourful has tobias linden, orange muse returning with some serious summer heat. the terrace mix with its euphoric piano hook and vocal chants against a funky backdrop will be perfect for those late decadent summer nights. the basement mix is an altogether different affair, stripping all the elements, featuring a raw synth hook to build the tension. bouncy with prominent percussion this mix still carries the uplifting, spiritual feel of the terrace mix. stepping up to remix is none other than the beats maestro himself, mr. kenny dope. drawing on the past, adding a splash of new, kenny comes really fresh on this one. raw, dry beats, deep bass drops and a sax hook to match the vox snippets - this is one piece of fierce floor action! add to that an instrumental and the colorful year of 2011 is in full gear what else do you need?
while cultivating a reputation as one of las most exciting dj duos at parties like the legendary do-over and dam funks funkmophere, cosmic kids started working in the studio, completing remixes for friends like harvard bass. but it was their first original tune that landed them on throne of blood, backed by absolutely tremendous remixes from dear friends juan maclean, classixx and labelmates bicep.
we are sure max cooper does not refer here to one of traum boss triple rs favourite writer thomas pynchon but rather connects here to the technical terminus of the parabolic trajectory often mentioned as rainbow-shaped. nevertheless we wish to express that the transgressive quality of max music, does it question or break down the boundaries and categories of western culture and reason, is a challenge we have at traum always aimed at, with tracks that were very far away from the norm in the same way as maxs tracks are.
>daemon< is the third ep from kenton slash demons >the schwarzschild solution< trilogy and features remixes from axel boman<. tartelet records are proud to present this last ep from the momentous trilogy and feel confident that it will bum rush discerning dance floors with its unrelenting, seductive beats and yearning, melancholic bent. as you may already know, the name >the schwarzschild solution< is taken from karl schwarzschilds complex theory about gravitational pull and celestial bodies. this is heavy, elevated subject matter, which goes extremely well with the lofty artistic ambition and nuanced emotional disposition of the trilogy. and as you would expect it from the boys, >daemon< is a grand journey of larger-than-life proportions.
the next release on claap is a joint venture between two label favourites. on side a, nikola galas >oasy< and >paradise (tool)< are two very tightly structured affairs! perfectly produced and oh so functional, they are another strong proof of the reasons for which nikola has been making waves in the scene for more than a decade. the overall feel in both tracks follows the same path along nikolas previous work on rekids and ibadan records, amongst others, along with releases on his own label escada music. we are also very glad to welcome a long time favourite john dimas. hailing from the beautiful city of thessaloniki in greece, john is a young and aspiring dj and producer who has been working with labels such as d julzs exciting bass culture. john has been steadily making a strong impression with his colourful, solid and passionate dj performances! >get it< is a very groovy, playful and smart track. reminiscent of older chicago house with a fresh touch. to round up the package, label head gummihz offers a disco orientated >get down mix...
hummingbirds 2nd release will be provided by chilean born artists, andres bucci (and yes, brother to pierre bucci). andres >unity hood ep< provides 3 works from the former visual artist, each track capturing the unique style and flavor that oozes funk and personality. remix privileges go to alexi delano (plus 8, drumcode) who turns up the pace on soul thing and punches a solid techno groove.
if you have been exposed to this cultural phenomenon called electronic music for more than a while, you will certainly have in mind something more than bright sunsets and perfect waves when you evocate that part of our awesome planet called california. the west coast has provided an own-harvested sound that strives to differ itself from surrounding mainstream conditions, making it fine and classy when it comes to underground house and techno music. alland byallo aint no rookie on the issue, rolling beats for enough years now to need no intruduction. with productions on labels like dirt crew, liebe detail, dirty bird, poker flat or nightlight music (allands own imprint) he can be well considered like the last but one exponent of a whole lineage of californian producers.
welcome to the world of melted dubs. a new label that will be vinyl only and all releases will be limited runs. our debut is a tune that has been bubbling on the underground for a while a true clash of uk meets us. rockwell takes the cash money family (lil wayne, birdman, kevin rudolf and the uks very own international superstar jay sean) from the dirtee south to a whole nother place. rockwell has been doing amazing things in dnb for a while now but this is something else. soulful and funky, fast and slow. you feel the groove but cant quite place it. already working for the few djs that have it. this is set to do big things. if you are not a vocal person there is a killer dub too. enjoy and be quick!

fresh from the success of >clock out<, need for mirrors make a quick return to inneractive music with one of its most awaited releases. originally released in 2001 on phantom audio, ten years later and the duo bring spirits >three in one< to a new generation, keeping that irresistibly funky flow while toughening up the groove with some killer bass work and thumping beats, already gracing the sets of dj hype, goldie, storm, raiden, tc1 and a host of others. spirit himself gets deep and dirty on >juggernaut< with its sparse drums, deep subs and growling synths, creating a groove that just cant be stopped.
dj mag 9/10
unquote is the guise used by russian electronic music producer vsevolod ermakov. he joins a trend of exciting new producers from eastern europe delivering a new interpretation of experimental drum & bass and dubstep. he has, to date, clocked up releases on some of the scenes most forward thinking labels, including a single on med school and releases on hospital and influenza media. he has also been tipped as one to watch by london electricity on the acclaimed hospital podcast. cold tenderness is, as the title suggests, an emotional and melancholy piece of ambient dubstep. its stirring synths and haunting vocals create what is, quite simply, a breathtaking track that you will want to play again and again. the flipside sees edinburghs finest dfrnt on remix duty giving us a glimpse of what is to come on his forthcoming extended player on nu directions later in the spring.
raw, booming and pretty straightforward yet with that typical jeroen search touch. but the icing on the cake is definitely the conforce remix. delsin pedigree, rush hour poster boy, and a great guy from that bleep on the radar above our country.
a key member of the diynamic family since 2006, hamburg producer h.o.s.h. has revelled, not only in the success of the label, but also in the ever increasing waves of support for his own work. the back end of 2010 saw the release of his debut artist album >connecting the dots<. the ten track collection of dance floor cuts found critical acclaim from djs and press alike, with many featuring in a variety of charts since. as we enter spring and our landscape changes, it signals the perfect moment to present the first remix ep of the album. tasked with reworking the tracks are 8bit and katchul boss gorge, who breathes new life into the beautiful vocal number, >finally mine<. and poker flat chief steve bug, who leads us through a wonderfully deep, hammond masterclass. let the music speak
