nycs legendary sam records dropped the mysteriously named k.i.d.s dont stop- in 1981. it has it all trancey arpeggios, vocoders & vocals trading off with each other, brass & some heavyweight disco drums that helped propel it forth into the hallowed category of club classic. the record perfectly suited the open minds and open ears of discerning disc jocks in locales such as new york and chicago where this sublime piece of electronic disco sleaze would get plenty burn on the city s infamous wbmx thus having a huge impact, along with a whole host of other similar records, on the burgeoning house scene that was germinating in the fertile mid western soil. b-side cut do it again is a pleasant enough early 80 s disco jam, but compared to the futuristic burner that is dont stop on the other side theres one clear winner. a must have for all cosmic, disco, funk aficionados. now made available again, legitimately licensed, remastered and reissued in conjunction with sam records new york city.

is it balearic releases a debut ep from clandestino s joe morris. 4 tracks of lush electronic grooves. the title track golden tides is a mid tempo houser with beautiful pads and soft arpeggios. late afternoon sundowner vibrations. the second track bayou has touches of sueno latino about it, an afterdark evocative tropical house trip. on the flip the first track light of the moon is a more reflective slo mo affair. warm pads and 808 sounds melting into cicadas. finally we come to mpondo theme. sounds of nature kalimba and loose percussion all sit together and watch the sun dip over the savannah horizon. a proper ep this covering all shades.

the music world waits a decade for more music from marc nguyen tan aka colder - and then along come two albums at once. as colder, marc released two acclaimed, cult darkwave, post-punk albums on trevor jacksons taste-making output recordings in the mid 00s (again in 03 and heat in 05).

the resulting 8 track release “struggle and emerge” is a tense soundtrack to the machine driven mid-20th century that captures the complex relationship between the dutch and the water that surrounds them- unyielding, colossal, industrial.

james ruskins blueprint sub-series is back with a newly re-mastered reissue of this classic oliver ho four track ep from 1999.

‘this is eleanore mills’ was her debut and only album, recorded for the sylvia robinson’s all platinum subsidiary astroscope in 1974. the album was produced by harry ray and al goodman of the moments and tommy keith of the rimshots. it includes some great crossover and modern soul cuts, including the in-demand string laden early soul/disco ‘same routine’ a popular killer cut and ‘i’m gonna get you’ another superb up tempo soul cut. ‘fascinating devastating man’ is a lovely mid tempo track. the album includes some beautiful soul ballads ‘he said goodbye’, ‘how can i love you’ and the heavily sampled ‘telegram’ which she rips up, plus ‘teach me’ an amazing near seven minute opus which picks up a heavier groove half way through.

our parisian edit friend reverend p hits us with a 4 track ep loaded with some serious boogie and disco heat. concentrating on the sounds of gladys knight (a side) and george duke (b side), reverend p decided to edit em not once but twice...ouble action = double fun :) the a-side tracks are two uptempo numbers with gladys while the flip comes with one mid tempo boogie tune and a high energy disco cut from mr duke. solid gamm material for anyone down with the more soulful sounds of disco!

uk techno veteran broom is one of the most consistent producers in the game and on neon, he delivers four killer dance floor tracks. inspired in equal parts by the swirling, dub techno of chain reaction and the insistent, loopy techno of mid to late-90s jeff mills, the release starts with the steel-plate percussion and churning chord builds of -m19-. broom keeps his focus on that approach for -energy-, where doubled-up claps and clanging chords create an eerie but urgent sensibility, while the title track is a slightly less visceral affair thanks to the inclusion of a sleepy vocal sample amid the churning keys. finally, -involver- sees broom focus his energies elsewhere, its acidic, grimy groove coming across like steve bicknell in a bad mood.

delsin records welcomes back dennis van gemert aka area forty_one for a second ep on the label. it is a second part to the nocturnal passions series started back in 2013, and come five years after his first ever release, which was on ann aimee in 2011, once again fusing ambient with techno, downtempo and electro. nocturnal passions part 2 is seven minutes of slithering electro funk. full of twinkling keys and spaced out chords, it has rugged bass and bumpy drums all making you want to move. voyage is then a raw, beat driven yet still brilliantly serene affair with angelic chords, consolation is a comforting, mid tempo tumble through the galaxy with soft focus, rippling melodies and gentle churning kicks and orbiting is a suspensory, fully ambient track that sounds like a slow journey up to heaven. this is teary eyed, emotive stuff that comes from another world entirely.

nice price deal !!! this graze release is in the superfluid phase. as long as it remains superfluid, it will exhibit the principle of continuous flow. properties such as mid-range density, bass pressure and sonic velocity are assumed well-defined in this state, and are assumed to vary continuously from one track to another.
sounds may be artificially introduced, like percussive tracers, or they may be naturally occurring, full-spectrum tracers may be either. quantized tracers remain constant following bass parcels, whereas off-grid tracers (such as snares or toms undergoing a mutual reaction) grow or decay with frequency.

2016 repress.. these reworks by the revenge (soul heaven, jisco music) & greymatter (mr bongo, unique uncut) present two unique interpretations of the original, the revenge strips the track down into one of his trademark slamming mid tempo grooves, whilst greymatter keeps it closer to the original but adds a new level of drama for the dance floor. side b introduces a new talent to the scene – krl. playing on samples and influences from the soul scene and restructuring and resurrecting them as modern dance floor bangers, krls tracks are already creating a big buzz. the massive recession beat has been in constant demand since its first initial promo airings and the storming remember (greymatter rework) is also set to do big things.

banoffee pies records return to their original white label imprint for another limited ep with bp003. tip. again the bristol label continue to compile artists and styles from all over following there no f***s given approach. the one sided a1 heavily samples a drum solo from the blockbuster film of 2015 whiplash, a strung out track filled with space and delicate percussion. jaffa surfas b1 provides a mid way techno break pumped with analog sounds and a swirling kick throughout. to end, the finely unearthed and re-issued b2 edit closes this diverse release with a bang offering something completely different. rolling jazz feelings for the dance floor. more love for the banoffee people.

"party apex newness dancing action in short p.a.n.d.a. this was the theme song of the panda club in mid 80’s italy where marcello bertini aka dj arch (arch stands for architect, he was studying architecture at that time) was a resident dj. it was pressed on limited edition vinyl to promote the club and parties. a few decades later this 12″ was re-discovered and became an in great demand record for italo collectors. bordello a parigi got in touch with marcello bertini and found out he still had all the original mastertapes, laqcuers and even the cmyk films for the sleeve: a true italo treasure. get ready for some dancing action!"

as mood ii swing, production duo lem springsteen and john ciafone became one of the most in-demand remixers in the late 90s. the duo s production career began modestly, however. after a failed attempt at r&b, the two turned to house music. early productions such as sylvano s * helpless* and wall of sound s *critical* were a step in the right direction, as were releases such as -i need a bitch- for cutting and -searchin - for groove on, but it was the duo s remixes of ultra naté s * free* for strictly rhythm that struck gold. the song became a huge hit and soon mood ii swing was remixing big-name producers like bt (-remember-) and king britt (* the reason*) as well as the next ultra naté single, * found a cure*, which also became a huge hit record around the world. then, as a testament to the duos success, the new york-based nervous have dug up the remixes mood ii swing did for the label during their seminal mid 90s period re mastered and re released on wax for 2016.

by now, we ve come accustomed to tabernacle records exploring the outer reaches of detroit-influenced techno, electro and ambient. even so, their latest outing from regular contributor jeremiah r is something special. beginning with the floatation tank-in-space ambience of chorus, calisto sees the producer laying down a whopping eight cuts that variously touch in drexciyan electro, artificial intelligence-era idm, and hard-to-define hybrids that confirm the intergalactic potential of electronic music. interestingly, the music is roughly equally split between horizontally inclined, beat-less explorations, surging dancefloor workouts, and the kind of mid 90s home listening fodder that sits somewhere in between.
