fresh from the release of their very first lp, here is an ultra rare repress coming from mid-nineties usa via one of the paris finest new labels, lazare hoche records. the bossman himself lazare hoche is an avid collector of rare house joints, and has a penchant for anything the truly epitomises the spirit of house music, raw, undiluted and full of funk. unlike some collectors who never reveal their secrets, lazare hoche decided to share his knowledge of those hard-to-find tracks of the past with this new release, and so acquired the license for three tracks by the cult duo nimbus quartet grouping them all together in a special vinyl-only reissue.

the detroit music community has outposts in nearly every major city, and vancouver, british columbia is no exception. this ep represents the connection of two such artists, detroit native, josh garrett, who currently resides in vancouver and runs the subspec label, and rennie foster, a stalwart of the underground, who has spent a quarter of his life in tokyo, but born in bc and now living back there, in vancouver. rennie has released on a myriad of detroit labels, such as transmat, teknotika, soiree, subject detroit, wallshaker, and motech. josh and rennie met in vancouver, only since rennies recent return, and realizing they were of the same tribe, immediately began to collaborate on a number of projects, now including this limited run, double a-side, record, chalk full of dj friendly techno trax, firmly rooted in the motor city sound, yet unique enough to be a contributor, not just another imitator.

during 1993 and 1994, between shifts at selectadisc, blagging studio time from diy and looking for a new girlfriend, nail spent time at home with some borrowed equipment a tr-808, tb-303, boss delay pedal and a knackered spring reverb, plus his own korg ms10. recording live & straight to cassette, these acid-soaked sessions were given the name sentipede, after a friend at the time saying one of the tracks made them feel like they were being eaten alive by a giant creepy-crawly with lots of legs. selected from four d90 cassettes full of tracks, 99:wave presents the imaginatively titled one, with just 8 tracks over two slabs of grey vinyl.
