stanley anscorm has finished the follow-up to battle beyond the sun. you can expect two epic tracks on this nearly 30 minutes record. although the tracks are based on identical compositional material, they shine in very different color. the black side is of high density and impresses with remarkable bass figures which seems to grow on the fundamental principles of low frequencies. these figures are easily carrying loads of percussions and even an orchestral set of horns which does not seem to be from this world. the white side can be understand as a lighter interpretation of the same topic and it is thrill of its own to discover the intersections between the two tracks. sure, this music is nothing you listen to in an elevator - stanleys art demands attention, there is no doubt about this - but the reward you get if you listen or dance to it with an open heart is of a kind you might never come in contact with somewhere else.

a little piece of sampledelia from maxmillion dunbar (future times, food for animals) and ari g (manhunter). you know when you scoop a record at some flea because the art looks tight, but it turns out that the shit is wack except for some little beautiful chunk? yea you do. we rescued the good parts from many terrible records that otherwise just would ve collected bad vibes on our floors. dudes trying to bring back something like early daniel wang but mix it with heavy boogie visions (swimmers groove) and all these psuedo-african slow cuts from the 90s that we keep finding (o yea). lifeguards for the vibe.

part of our philosophy was always to be open for talent and modern styles of music. introducing the next generation of deep lovers and producers, yellow tail welcomes the 19 year old remerc to it s artist rooster with his first release. what a blast for his debut ep: subtle & warm sounds paired with beautiful vocalslices that blend in perfectly to his grooving drums. we ve been testing these on the floors for a while, and yet the result are outstanding! nudisco added a remix to this package, giving it a bit more drive. but wether you like pure deep sound or driving techhouse, this ep delivers it all! thumbs up for the young generation!

who the hell are bleep district i hear you ask? well for those of you who havent heard their awsome debut on replay records they are matt powell a founding dj of the legendary quadrant soundsystem and the inappropriately nicknamed matt rhythm who rumour has it spends his spare time pressing random buttons as one half of deep house anti-heroes rhythm plate. coming straight out of leftfield, bleep district have exploded onto the deep house scene like a musical gas leak. their quirky, chunky, dancefloor orientated beats causing serious damage on dancefloors and working mens clubs around the counrty. these two devout christians and still practising altar boys have decided to continue the religious theme of the bleep of faith ep on the highly respected winding road and titled their debut for ornate music… end days ep. revelations (rapture rub) kicks of the ep with a clearly deluded shaun ryderesque gentleman professing his faith over a big moody analogue bass and detroit style stabs on a track that would make the staunchest non believers begging for absolution! and on revelations (pillar of salt dub) they take things nice and deep for those more reflective moments in the evening.

the faint return in 2009 with remixes by some of their favorite artists. das glow re-imagines “mirror error” as only he can. members of the faint have been playing das glow in their dj sets since they first heard the music on institubes. djedjotronic has been one of the faint’s favorite boys noize artists, and the remix of “machine in the ghost” on this release shows djedjotronic in rare form, focusing on the spirituality of the lyrics. tensnake’s inclusion on this package came at the suggestion of boysnoize rec. label head alex ridha. the faint’s manager, joel mark, comments: ” when i heard these tensnake mixes, i left them on repeat for hours. battle hymn for children has always been one of our favorite songs on fasciinatiion, but tensnake was able to take it to brand new areas that we never would have imagined. i could listen to a 30 minute version of this remix. ” nice

musik gewinnt freunde starts the sommer season with mgf 09, which features two young and promising producers from beautiful venice: nicola sansoni aka randomatique and kaled jabri aka kaledj, who together form cosmic cowboys. the three tracks on their dusk ep combine an airy and transcendent athmosphere with an energy that builds up chary first but then unfolds and overwhelms you. with melancholic harmonies and a whiff of dub this ep invites for (day)dreaming or loose yourself on the dancefloor. definitely a great release for deep summer nights that will catch your heart regardless of time and space. cosmic cowboys make a great extension for the mgf family and it will be worth watching out for future releases from these guys

abusing our soft side for dub edgar 9000 gave us these compelling tracks.>play me minus three (patience vs. epiphany mix)< û what starts like a nicely arranged minimal tune bubbles and billows after a short pause up to a big ride on the acid-dub-ghost-train. at the latest when the decently deployed and gated french horn pad sets in on the second half you are completely lost. not for quick peep û but beware: danger of addiction of endless playing is definitely given.meanwhile the title >hook & bait< of the b-side rather reads like the basic principle of fishing. it really sounds like the classic principle of ambient à well almost, since in this case this ambient track is drifting along itself, underlined with a straight driving and floating rhythm fed by an earthly bassline.petri heil! (as we say in krauts-country)

for the joy of those who know (and even more so for those who dont...), here come some classics with the capital c. treated, reworked and re edited by the unusual suspects, these gems shine for quality originality, and most of all, variety. from the late 60s (b2) to the 21st century (b3 came out only a few years ago), this 12inch encompasses some immortal tracks that bring joy to whomever the listener. different folks, different strokes, yet a1 had to be one of the most air played tune of the 80s, given the popularity it still enjoys. a2 is one of the finest moments in a legendary funkateers career: top class arrangements and groove. b1 sounds like the perfect summer outdoor party tune...boogie oogie oogie! no... not that one thats been rinsed for decades, this ones less predictable. b2 shows theres room for bop modal deepness in this killer 12inch, going back as far as the late 60s... on blue note of course. closing the series b3, a real surprise duet of the new millennium from an album that even topped the charts in 2004... smashing! dj or not, this 12inch is real hot! bring out those summer bbq grills, for we got the soundtrack.
