two raw, atmospheric house and techno tracks by the mastermind xdb completed with two absolutely outstanding remixes from his friends of the even drones crew. just the way we like it!™ , and of course its a vinyl only release
phantasma volume 2 by dinky, matthew styles and pier bucci is out now. this lovingly designed record is produced by three artists we really like and and it is just grea they decided to work with us again. matthew is damn sure one of our favourite producers and pier s skills are nothing short of his. on the last release we made with them, they d worked together as oblique strategies on balld inc. for phantasma volume 2 pier wrote a track on his own, highlighting the noble beats he is known for and expanding the explicit cadenced patterns with a chord phrase that leads the structure to perfection. dinky whose work was released on such labels as cocoon, traum, vakant and of course on her own imprint horizontal composed the other side together with matthew and you can sense their familiarity at once. the two arranged >choises< carefully, sleek and free of any kind of hubris. well, this attitude is hart to find these days and their versed piece may calm your stressed out ears both in the club and at home
nice price deal !!! we were very surprised as we got unexpected mail from outsider stanley anscorm, who seems to be departed years ago. although it wasn t possible to recognize the origin of the mail, we are pretty sure he still lives on earth. but who knows? it isn t beyond believe that he s find a way to leave this rotten planet and is waiting for his eternal rest somewhere out there. the only thing we can be sure about is the timeless quality of the futuristic and precise music he sends electronically. battle beyond the sun narrates about the human struggle for life in an somehow sinister and - how can i say it? - parallel universe. mr.anscorm s music still strikes the balance between the grim aspects of life and the promise of hope we can discover in the wonders of existence and the methods of survival. although the battle beyond the sun ep is sometimes frightening, a white light of hope always shines through the darkness
its time for the second release on diamonds and pearls in 2012. two of the most singular and distinct forces in house and techno today team up for a special sonic treat. we are talking about the two alechmists xdb and kassem mosse. so get yourself ready for two extended journeys into techno, house and beyond. xdbs >ekatem< is a driving, rough and ready house track with a beautifully bubbling square bassline and dirty synth work. on the flip xdb is joined by kassem mosse for an exploration into the outer reaches of house music. omrish is a gritty-yet-atmospheric jam, full of shimmering chords and floating synth melodies which are puntuated by double kicks and crisp cymbals. mesmerizing stuff.
after a short hiatus diamonds and pearls is back with another stunning release by the mysterious eat. >rapture< takes you on a twisted disco journey which slowly but surely turns into a grinding acidic trip. on the b-side he heads for headier tropes, dismissing the 4×4 template for a mesmerizing and moody percussive workout somewhere between monolake and shackleton & pinchs collaboration with the first cut >sand<, before he unleashes the brooding >flux< which sports a nasty modulated squelching bassline and the same off-kilter dubstep-feel. dnp and eat are definitely back – with a bang!
the dnp14 is the 4th vinyl of the phantasma compilation series on diamonds and pearls music from berlin. it is the final of 4 split eps sharing one idea and one artwork.
the a side featuring half hawaii with a really sexy, smooth flowing and trippy track called >emperors of venus<. sammy dee and bruno pronsato show us again that their joined forces are top-notch and that their work together originates one of the most energetic minimal styled music projects available today.
on the b side you will have the pleasure to listen to a excellent new eat masterpiece. the unique fat analog sound and the continuous rising movement of eats >crown of light< reveal that there are no borders in hyper modern electronic music.the dnp 14 is the wonderful completion of the phantasma series.
stanley anscorm has finished the follow-up to battle beyond the sun. you can expect two epic tracks on this nearly 30 minutes record. although the tracks are based on identical compositional material, they shine in very different color. the black side is of high density and impresses with remarkable bass figures which seems to grow on the fundamental principles of low frequencies. these figures are easily carrying loads of percussions and even an orchestral set of horns which does not seem to be from this world. the white side can be understand as a lighter interpretation of the same topic and it is thrill of its own to discover the intersections between the two tracks. sure, this music is nothing you listen to in an elevator - stanleys art demands attention, there is no doubt about this - but the reward you get if you listen or dance to it with an open heart is of a kind you might never come in contact with somewhere else.
phantasma one is the first 12?,, of our second compilation, featuring”clapper” by tobias. and efdemin s “hope”. we are astonished and thrilled this split ep doesn t even sound like one but is of beautiful consistence and adequacy. “clapper” hypnotizes from the first second with a straight forward percussion rhythm which curls inescapable upwards even in the mind of an inattentive listener, pushing ahead with classic machine drums driven with a both glaring and harsh attitude. the crystal surface of efdemin s “hope” is woven into a plait of swelling basses and enriched with extensive spins of snare rolls and precious carpets of highlighted chords which seems to rise out of the drums which carry the whole track with slick efficiency. without a doubt this vinyl will be in every record case for a long time. grab your copy as long as there are some.
