okains dj career kicked off back in 1999, when at the tender age of 15 he began spinning regularly at parties. influenced by french legend laurent garnier, it wasnt long before he was offered his first residency. since then, he has gone on to play at the hottest of paris nightspots, including the rex club and social club. through playing at the now famous dimuschi parties he teamed up with paul ritch. after some time studying in sound engineering, the pair released their first ep under their handycraft alias on kickboxer. since the success of that >le bal masque< ep, okain has gone on to release on labels including robotronic, bpitch control, four twenty, tsuba, quartz and of course jetaime, and has been fully blooded in the art of touring. gigs have flooded in, and his travels have seen play many of europe s finest nightspots. his >blackrock< ep on quartz earlier this year found fantastic success with so many of you, and today our good friend is back, with the awesome >acrobat<.

after the very well received >hunter / grazer< ep by jeroen liebregts, audio assault returns with their first post-summer release. prepare for another contribution by japanese prodigy go hiyama, delivering dirty and industrial beats in the classic hiyama tradition.
besides the orginal version of >residual set<, this release features three quality remixes by the likes of oscar mulero, radial and bas mooy, who each give their own unique interpretation on the original. the result is a varied release, which already did some serious damage on several dance floors worldwide.

marco passarani has done the honours on the flip side. a workaholic from the eternal city of rome, marco is the linchpin of the italian techno scene. he produces under the aliases js pool, monomorph and ambit 3 for the labels skam, hymen, clone and peacefrog, and also runs his own labels plasmek, pigna and nature records marcos >fall into me< remix is unmistakably influenced by hiscarefully nurtured detroit roots. however, he employs these stylistic elements very discreetly, retains beats, melody and vocals in his arrangement, takes out a little of the decorative padding from the album, then finally hits us with a wonderful, trancey eight-tone sequence to send us into the realm of dancefloor dreams for ever.

hive audio is here � a brand new label, run by the makers of the infamous hive club, located in the the industrial quarter of zurich. the imprint was founded by samuel gmur and adrian wöllhaf, better known as animal trainer with some great releasing on oliver koletzkis stil vor talent, amongst others. zurich is not only party capital of beautiful switzerland, it is more and more becoming a habitat for talented and creative music producers and djs, who will now get a new international platform. releases will be held mainly by residents of the hive club itself � benja will be given the honour to start off with his track paradose. >paradose< impresses with a funky percussion loop, ultra-brief chords and scantily applied vocal snippets. benja keeps it dust-dry, leaving out every kind of frippery and lifting the track to a real &#64258,,oor-&#64257,,ller without any razzmatazz needed. on the &#64258,,ip we have a remix by christian burkhardt, who needs no further introduction. he turns the number into a real techno loop monster, which will catch you within a few beats, and then wont let loose again. hypnotic and twinkle-toed at the same time, his remix easily will suit any after hour or peaktime set to the same degree. christian burkhardt himself is also one of our favourite guests in the club. this is why, of course, we are double happy to welcome a hive club resident on our hive audio 001.

the heels of love, the new milan based duo born from the joint between michele tessadri (fratelli riviera, bearfunk) and sapo (member of the love supremeproject on tirk) >two disco reprimands with an unhealthy penchant for slap bass, synths and vintage drum machines< has made a lot of noise lately with just a couple of works. after debuting here on mom with a huge remix that made its way up to beats in space and tsugis 2009 best of compilation they have had the first official release on david griffiths (the man behind jisco music) new label, under the shade. this one has sent them right into the chart of almost every known dj of the scene. >quiet please< is a slow, 110 bpm groovy piece of psychedelic disco that has its force in the balanced mix of the wobbling analog bassline, the p-funk guitars and the old flavouredsynth riffs reminescent of 1992 chicago house.

leeds based audiojack stormed on to the scene with their chart busting single >robot<, back in 2006. since then theduo have stayed true to the leeds house institution that is 20/20 vision, releasing multiple 12 inches and an album over the last 3 years. one can only imagine how giddy we are to finally slot these nice young chaps for a release on get digital. anchored by a smattering of effects, quirky soundsand sliced up vocals - that even a sushi chef would bow in approval of � made it almost easy to crown >kicks forkicks< the a-side. although storming right from the get-go, it is the two break-downs that build up to reintroduce the beats that provide a dramatic tension effect, withoutsacrificing their credibility. a tune equally affective as it is infectious.

italian duo davide zeta and claudio basile moved to london from milan in 96 & 97 respectively, they quickly achieved themselves their individual niches in londons spotlight as promoter/dj duo, moving into production with their first official releases in 2008, claudio as a solo artist, and davide as part of slimboystwo. when they finally joined forces for their first release as dzeta n basile gained lots of attention from different record labels throughout uk and europe. claudios sound comes from a progressive background and davides has more of a house feeling. the result is a unique blend of hypnotic grooves, deep vibes and percussive/house beats, which is the trade mark of their style. after just more than a year running, with dj performances in londons most important venue and 10+ singles released, the future in 2010 is looking bright.
