richard scott and axel doerners journal of elasticity is a two-part site-specific composition recorded at the big water reservoir in berlin-prenzlauer berg. playing once with the empty space s acoustics as a third actor and once in front of and with the audience s presence, their bohemian drips debut is a riveting study of space and intensity.
every so often public release takes a snapshot along their discography timeline, to pause and recognize the various artists that represent the past, present and future of where the label sits. the last such release was in 2016, and four years, twelve releases later it’s time for another marker. this ep pools together six exclusive tracks from their global family, some on the pr roster for the very first time. from the beautifully addictive melodies by tendts and metropolitan soul museum, brooding baselines and synths from richard sen and tim sweeney, to the ecstatic floor energy produced by fran-key and earth boys, the range presented here is impressive. equally enjoyable as an abbreviated album, or as singular tracks at your service.
dance music veteran richard sen has a 30 year history of djing and production. the respected global dj has produced and remixed many well-known artists including bryan ferry, john grant and lcd soundsystem. from the late 90s to the early 2010s sen was one half of the dance music duos, padded cell and bronx dogs. this is the first release on his own label which aims to explore the beauty of the night - dark and light, combining influences from black american dance music and european electronic music.
