american experimental musican shane english continues in a long tradition of outsider electronics as hes been humbly prolific in his output though the years involving himself in numerous recording projects.collaborating with jonah lange in their group corporate park as well as an ongoing collab with beau wanzer (seeing a release last year under the cp/bw name), english now commits his second full length solo offering to vinyl in the form of the general dimensions lp. sparse machine driven electronics dominate the recording providing a back drop for the occasional pulsating rhythm, metallic clank or floating obscured vocal. while it is a dark and sparse affair there is a quiet downtrodden beauty throughout giving the recording a sense of uncertain serenity in an almost shoegazey way. highly recommended for those into early electronics.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

you dont have enough fingers on one hand to count the number of tadd mullinixs musical aliases. often does an artist want to explore disparate genres, and sometimes they try by releasing under various project names. rarely does this ever work, but its part of mullinixs growing legacy to consistently pull it off with tact, empathy and exuberance.

what taron-trekka does from the wide field of deepness is fashion a diversity of color and that certain thump that fits right in-between their compositions. regardless of whether a piece sounds a little held back, somehow it produces a booom. for them, dancing is the vertical expression of the joi de vivre of the body members, based on the horizontal fantasy and an empathy for the physical.

this release represent in a sense the spirit of what we are. we started to think about it around 3 years ago, and is good to say that everything is gone positive. all the artists involved are connect from the same empathy and love, and things happened in the most natural way. collecting all the infos about mrs. endresen and mr. wesseltoft and looking at ninca and bruno biography, and of course with andrea and hubble always is our minds, we can affirm one more time the power of this intense feeling that keep us close to each other.
