in collaboration with present books we are happy to present you ‚kätze‘ - a story accompanied by a soundtrack, both written by yannick labbe, krätze is about all the dirt that is to be found beneath the polished surface of our little lives. the book, which was designed by our boy wonder florian seidel, evolves around a modern man living in circles. he is seemingly unable to confront his faults, so he distracts himself with superficial friendships, looking good on the outside and a lot of medication.&#8232,,,,,,, on the soundtrack yannick boils down some dark italo, some playful weird house, some dirty drums and basslines as well as relentless rhythms to a highly potent 5- tracker. there are some 6am basement rollers on this as well as tracks that can be played to accompany a sunrise at an open air beach stage. yet they all have that certain two-sidedness in common, reflecting the idea of the book in a subtle way. krä,tze is nasty. krätze is dirty. krätze is not easily explained. but a little krätze lives inside all of us.

recorded in philadelphia in 1969, the deirdre wilson tabac’s sole album is a beautiful blend of funk, jazz and soulful pop. possessing the complex grooves, thrilling breaks and ethereal weirdness that the rotary connection pedalled so brilliantly, the lp failed to connect with audiences upon its original release.
in the decades since, it has deservedly attracted a considerable cult following. however, almost inevitably, it has become increasingly tricky to pick up a copy in good condition for anything less than eye-watering sums. as such, we’re delighted to present the first officially licensed vinyl reissue of this undoubted masterpiece of freaky funk-rock, limited to just 500 copies.

pisetzky s full debut album on just this includes adventures into contemporary techno music, fines ambient works, and unique broken pieces. an intense mixture of incredible warmth, weird fluffiness, mystic trumpets and high uplifts, the album is interspersed with short ambient and fragmentated interludes, each just a few minutes long: ‘state of consciousness’ and ‘tears of a rough machine’ are serene and reflective tracks that give the listener time to breathe and bringing him/her back to more dancefloor focused tracks of the lp like viridis, bakwas and wand. the result is a magic story, a history in eleven chapters that the listener is guided through, like the landscapes of a mystic journey, with a twist on the melodies and hidden effects behind every deep bass sound.

utter presents rgbpm, trevor jackson s four piece audio-visual work originally commissioned for a live performance at the optronica festival in 2007, on london s imax, the biggest screen in the uk. optronica, programmed by addictive tv/cinefeel in collaboration with the british film institute, held its second festival over five consecutive days at the imax, ica and bfi southbank in march 2007. a showcase of the most exciting talent working in visual music, optronica s 2007 event was a platform for live performances, talks, screenings and workshops from the likes of fennesz, peter greenaway and ryoichi kurokawa. jackson s piece took over six months to develop and yet was performed only once. on march 14th the premier of rgbpm opened the festival in spectacular fashion, jackson performing the music live with its accompanying hd visuals generated in real time using custom-built software created especially by weirdcore. a powerful multi-sensory experience, the event remains one of the defining moments of jackson s lengthy career. the visuals consist of abstract shapes synchronised perfectly to jackson’s soundtrack. choreographed to represent musical elements within each track, they explore the relationship between melody, colour, rhythm and form. the diverse soundtrack combines magical motorik experiments, demented acidic jams, melodic subterranean techno and dark discordant electronic soundscapes. it s a timeless selection of music that holds its own to this day. a decade on from rgbpm s lone airing, utter is proud to release all four parts together for the first time as a special 12- package, mastered and cut by helmut erler at d&m and housed in a sleeve designed by jackson himself.

d edges cultured off shoot olga is back with a new ep, radiolarian, from german-bulgarian stefan goldmann. again it is a perfectly well sculpted ep with deep and sleek lines that get right into your head. the man behind it is the co-owner of the excellent macro label and for more than fifteen years has released intricate house and techno sounds. he is a deep thinker and master of hi-fidelity sound design and intricate grooves, so is perfect for this label. radiolarian is first and is seven sublime minutes of tunnelling techno rippled with neon melodies and firefly like pads that burrow into your brain. it is a high tempo and high impact track but a subtle one that works its magic slowly. building to a number of peaks, it then pulls back and the whole thing starts again. on the flip, streams is freaky and unhinged, with weird synth sounds making for a trippy atmospheres as minimal beats roll below. perfectly detailed so as to work on both head as well as heel, it rounds out another fine ep.

the intensity of neznan his personality and talent made us decide to go all the way for this release. his story is remarkable and feels like a paradox. his musical ability is full of details and his creativity is a perfect match with float. if you take your time to understand his visions and incomprehensible ideas we’re sure you will love this piece of art as much as we do.

two of turbo s rising stars come together to make one of the biggest records of the year. peanuts club has been arguably the hottest track of the summer for heavyweight djs erol alkan, tiga, and a-trak. it s instantly catchy and massively effective, and we ve seen it bring the best out of the crowd night after night, but you probably already know all about it. the real coup here is that cajou club is another absolute bomb, maybe even better than peanuts club, and more disturbing evidence that france has produced yet another two major-league players in dance music. noob s really been hitting his stride lately, following on terrific remixes for brodinski and d.i.m. and tai s lyposuct, his productions getting exponentially bigger with each release. as for brodi, anyone that s seen him play knows he has all the makings of a star, and if he can keep putting out records this good, the sky s the limit! wanting to go beyond double-megahit and attempt quad-bomb status, we commissioned a terrific remix from sound pellegrino s renaissance man. noob & brodi are in love with it, plus they re the only finns out there to have not produced a record for turbo, so it was a perfect fit. the ph 0 remix on the vinyl is, incredibly, an original take on acid, it s loopy and weird, but works like magic.
