incl. downloadcode ... unnatural. uneasy. unexpected. the great filter keeps you on your toes constantly. it makes your fingers tingle with anticipation and the hairs on your arms stand up from the tension. it is eerily calm and controlled. while it takes you to faraway places in the twilight. that dont actually exist. subdued. bright yellow light with no sun in sight. wide plains with an inherent structure that can only be illogical. unorganic sounds. alien voices. excited synths and sobering organs. reality is so mundane. the way we are now expecting it from krink. he does what is unexpected and stretches conventions somewhere around techno and deep house. the music is driven by imagery rather than song structure. the ep puts cutting rhythms over comfort and sound over beauty. like a focused dream. it is concrete and abstract. lets get found in the universe

released in solidarity with tigas anti-tech house crusade. a silent campaign fought everyday on the streets of your hometown. blaze finds russian crypto-whiz dimitri veimar still dancing with the rawer-than-the-rawest-dog electro thats brought him to the dizzying heights of the mid-tier crags of mt. turbo mountain. throwing his weight behind what some in the media are probably already calling tigas war was absolutely necessary following the events of a recent gig in moscow. veimar opened the night by playing no fewer than three tiga tracks. which anyone whos read tigas taboos can tell you is definitely a tiga taboo. deeply immersed in the practice of pouring his own mineral water. tiga ignored the hootin and hollerin of the vips crowding the dj booth (including dennis miller and diego maradona). and proceeded to play a set entirely comprised of recordings of every embarrassing thing veimar had ever said in his life. four hours later. an emotionally-shot veimar collapsed into tigas arms. with the magnanimous label boss whispering. i forgive you. dimitri into his ear. the release also features a broken techno remix from mysterious european producer florian kupfer. who made us sign a non-disclosure-agreement dictating that we can only describe him as mysterious. enigmatic. and/or european. so well have to let the music do the talking.

when harold boue aka abstraxion invited fantastic man into his studio after playing together the night before he didnt knew he was planting the seed for a new project. as he recalls. it was a day of intense sun in marseille with not enough sleep. but the result was so great that it inspired harold to work on new tracks around the idea of creating music to reflect his city: a bit rough. but luminous and influenced by elements of mediterranean. african and northern european cultures. this has translated into a heavily percussive sound. in which tribal disco grooves invoke the spirits of voodoo-techno. three cuts driven by warmly distorted rhythms. bursts of primitive drums. rubbery synths and uplifting chants that overall feel like the first sunrays after an excursion through a dark cave: both blinding and blissful. the projects name is a tribute to the astrological sign of harolds son. who was born at the same time as the music on the ep. it was the definitive signal he needed to convince himself it was the right time to start something new and different. and an event that for sure helps understanding the vibes that this music transmits: as pure. fresh and powerful as only a new beginning can be.

(aka berko. art wilson. andras). a few months ago in tokyo where we were both to perform on a sort of balearic ambient variety show in the heart of shibuya. at some point andrew was telling me about his interest in youtube videos of truck accidents. animals attacking people and bloopers. with creating one-shot samples of these sort of popular fringe finds he started creating long-form drones of harmonic beauty. without being overtly and subjectively emotional. wilson presented some of these pieces on said night in tokyo. in a dandyesque manner all dressed in white. sitting behind a small restaurant table

within lok recordings’ sixth release. we introduce lokin to you. we’re coming up with something to break boundaries and strengthen the spirit of artistic freedom. -the fall- by the belgian-born berlin-based singer. songwriter and producer cook strummer - aka maxime donnet - is an evocative ode to lost love and forgotten spirituality. channeling the post-punk synth sound of his home country’s cold wave movement of the late 70s and early 80s. donnet has absorbed the sounds of his adopted home in germany. taking that all-pervasive electronic music that is all around him and morphing it into something new. the result is -the fall-. recorded in a cell located in the basement of an old stasi prison (studio k61 in berlin). it’s an album with one eye on the dancefloor. but one that works just as well when the party is over. it’s an album that blends the organic with the synthetic. mixing guitars and synths with post-dubstep flourishes and drum machines. it’s an album about something. the name of the album has been chosen in reference to first single fallen. the idea of falling in life and waking up again. it’s also about the fact that it’s not the fall that kills you. a fall can be graceful. a fall can improve a life perspective and create new paths. it can and does make you strong. the main metaphor in there is one of reincarnation. indeed. it’s the story of a soul negotiating with god to not reincarnate on earth again. but being forced to do it anyways. experience something different!

emile facey (plant43) has been at the forefront of electronic for more than twelve years. during that time the british producer has released on a host of seminal labels. expanding his style and sound in new directions. although plant43 is typically classified as a purveyor of electro. behind those driving rhythms and steely percussion a tenderness has always been present. an emotion expressed in lilting melodies and complex harmonies. it is these melodies and harmonies that come into focus on plant43s debut ambient album. on from deep streams is a rich and textured tapestry of synth work. a soundtrack that organically unfurls from nightime woodland walks and city stargazing to mindful solitude. the eight tracks offer the listener a calming journey into stillness. an excursion through gentle audio currents and a moment to pause and take in an inspiring vista of sound. recorded over the space of 3 months. this album gives the quiet. the subtle and the sometimes underappreciated centre stage whilst casting light on yet another side of emile faceys ever-evolving musi
oscar mulero s contribution to the token catalogue goes all the way back to 2008. the new electric shades ep opens and closes with sci-fi theatrics also operates with the solid functionality of mulero s earlier work. the voyage is agitated and bleepy while heavy roller signal trace plays deeper with similar themes. triad and extension too are weighty highlights. affording the record plenty of utilitarian benefit for djs and home listening enthusiasts alike.
