dont is excited to welcome dublins another alias with a perfectly unsettling 4-track ep that veers from 2 step through techno and out the other side. truly bringing something new to the table.this producer has been busy carving out a definite sound of late and that sound chimed so much with the original ethos of dont. that he was immediately sought out and invited to record an ep. his productions bang. whilst managing to hit a delightfully off-kilter tone which is a tricky combination to get right and we really hope you’ll enjoy this special release.

in this air rarefied by thoughts
to make us more conscious of the restless lack
of the hope from us stolen.

INTO THE NIGHT EP (INCL EDUARDO DE LA CALLE REMIX)
12" Vinyl UK11.07.18
anyone who’s followed maurice aymard’s galaktika label over the years will be all too aware of the imprint’s leaning toward eclectic sounds. it’s an ethos that mirrored in the work of aymard himself and regardless of whether he’s turning his hand to tech house sounds or more straight-up techno jams. his is a way of working that’s endeared him to many over the years. his latest is a case in point. the 75th chapter in the galaktika discography. the into the night ep serves up an array of sounds that are enticing as they are upbeat and intriguing. getting us underway is the sounds of the title track. an unfurling beast of a track that’s loaded with dramatic tension throughout. it’s an eerie cut that’s characterised by its clever bells and some incessant percussion. a full on track that’s not to be handled lightly. it’s repetitive nature and sporadic vocal charms is indicative of levon vincent at his best. ‘shinning’. a more progressive cut. follows after. another track that’s notable for the suspense that lingers throughout. it serves up a nice stylistic alternative to what’s arrived before. aymard then goes all out on the frankly astounding sounds of ‘rage’. a propulsive gem of the type that sees the producer greatly rewarded for trying something that bit different. it’s a special sort of track that takes on various tones throughout but always stays captivating. seeing us out soon after is eduardo de la calle’s remix of the latter. the cadenza man is well versed in all things deep and dextrous. and his interpretation serves up a fitting example of his talents. although it starts on a melodic tip. it too soon brings the listener on a thoroughly captivating but unexpected journey. much like the rest of this ep. de la calle’s remix is full of surprises from the off.

allfeelings is releasing a 12- in dedication to his love for early dub techno coming out of berlin. the idea behind the title “untitled” is to give the listeners more space to interpret the tracks themselves rather than being distracted with any track names. as allfeelings music label is about the amalgamation of sounds and rhythms to bring about a visceral experience. this can be observed in the african inspired percussion on side a and the subtle changes and movement it has throughout its length. side b focuses more on easy listening with sounds and dry textures meandering slowly demanding the listener’s attention at all times. the other great thing about this record is it works really well pitched down which can be used to great effect during warm ups and after hours. this release has the support from ario and o:utlier from astral industries.

multi-talent joyce muniz is definitely one to look out for. initially starting her career as a vocalist. she now took over the global house music scene within no time as a deejay and producer as well. exhibiting her talent with previous releases. its not surprising that shes on the roster of prestigous labels such as exploited records and 20/20 vision recordings. next year she will release her single toxic people on international deejay gigolo records featuring the singer. songwriter and producer demetr1us. toxic people is a vibrant and raw sounding electro house cut featuring grimy synths and vocals. that lend the track a cold and distant atmosphere. the artwork for toxic people was created by leipzig-based artist silvia trost. whose forth lies in oil and acrylic paintings. she now frequently collaborates with glitch art artists and loves to mix materials and techniques. both analogue and digital. the b-side dreamz is another great production by joyce muniz. the playful groove and eclectic ambient makes it a cool package.

queeste emerges with the nocturnal sounds of haron s wandelaar. an album exploring his long-term interest in music s talent for inducing and affecting dreams. successfully turning listening into an act of transport. leaving you in the midst of falling asleep. at a junction of dislocation. hazily arriving in a liminal world. in wandelaar we hear haron s playful reaction against the confines of dance music. gathering energy from his estrangement from the scene and using it as a means to reorder and interrogate sound. the modest piano takes centre stage. allowing each solo note to becoming fertile and full. suspended and considered. guided by the principles of minimal composers such as john cage and ryuichi sakamoto. haron delicately translates sparse chords into a cinematic narrative of ascension. conjuring up a moony landscape. grey and desolate from afar. intricately detailed on approach. haron s wandelaar is available 6 july 2018 on lp. the vinyl release includes an art print by fallon does. who is also responsible for the graphic design of wandelaar. all tracks written and produced by haron aumaj. mastered by wouter for brandenburg mastering. words by jo kali.

whether or not techno music is destructive and to what degree is fair concern to have. but there s no denying that it can call upon our primal instinct of surrendering to rhythms together with everyone around the proverbial camp fire. sure. the camps of today are the clubs. and the fires are strobes. but that doesn t change the essence of rituals that we continue practicing. the release stays close to 130 bpm and offers efficient tools for the dancefloor: airy. for one. represents a syncopated narrative of wonder and magical realism. whereas in the hands of gotshell it becomes less contemplative. shifting to a more direct perspective. backed by cascading kicks xi takes a dive into atonal realm. and kujin —the most brutal number of ep—offers a densely packed treble range running above the hammering 3/3 kicks. with hydra. it s a trip laden with wondrous soundscapes. shamanic percussion and sensations of unexplored grounds emanating from the bassline. after which the closer trioptic provides a rebellious theme fitting for times of unrest and resistance.
the second release on werk is signed by j. manuel. the young producer has been polishing his sound ever since he first started experimenting with electronic music gear as a child. his commitment to following his own instincts rather than conforming to what was being played around him resulted in a very different aesthetic to the one commonly associated with berlin techno. drive fiction ep stands proof of that. all 3 tracks push boundaries in their own style. that being perhaps the strongest link between them. the title track -drive fiction- presents old-school leads over broken beats and electro inspired pads while the a2 -falling in sine circulation- is arguably the most dance floor oriented track. with a pounding 4×4 kick drum and an alarming 3/4 sine wave slaying the high frequencies. closing the ep is b-side -softer-. a melodic track with long. undulating pads that is nonetheless driven by a powerful rave-inspired beat. with its second release. werk comes to confirm the path it seeks to travel through both parties and releases: that of the sounds less rigid. gritty. wild and presenting a wide range of rhythmic patterns. drive fiction ep is a defying record. challenge accepted?
first lp by visballa (also part of atelier records adopo) is a long avaited lecture in real industrial funk. hard edged & rhythmical. but sometimes also as if recorded underwater or getting stuck in between two charging electrons. where some tracks bare the quality of dub rhythms others are fast forward 80s - and there s also the psychotic ones - either way it s 100% excellent.

brand new jack pattern tracks and two cracking remixes from kris baha and ratlife s sneaker

total makt is the molten new ep from evigt morker. there s plenty to be charmed by as the collection of tracks open out and tame our senses. once the flirting fades. we are quite casually led down bumpy. aqueous routes into something. and slowly we are funnelled into evigt morker s terrain. eventually arriving in darker corners of the fantasy that first caught our eye.
