as part of the various productions remix collection that has so far seen dubstep duo various remix gerry mitchell & dave cloud. this latest instalment sees various production honing their skills over a slab of 12inch wax on georgias horse as it stops raining. georgias horse exude the kind of brooding spirituality and sparse beauty which the cowboy junkies entwined in the trinity sessions...but these are awesomely eerie country lullabys and laments, laced with a gothic gospel, yet graced with a gentle soul and blessed with melodies which rise from the prairie and soar into the heavens. starting with a wave of mystery, quality and limited vinyl releases, various production survived a bidding war (warp, leaf, domino..) in 2006 to release their first full length on xl/beggars, the world is gone. detailed and highly original scattered beats and dark soundscapes balance out with forgiving female vocals. their work is enriched visually by the iconic art of bonesy, often featuring strange animals and beautiful women in flowing, neutral, yet somehow emotional forms. an astoundingly productive team, they have recently remixed ian brown, thom yorke, cat power, dirty three, puerto muerto and gerry mitchell amongst others. the relationship with the equally weird and wonderful fire records continues in a series of mash up/remixes taking already original work into new electronic worlds
