rezz s involvement in the toronto scene helped grow her gritty style. events like bassmentality and older shows at the legendary guverment helped shape not only rezz, but an era of electronic music producers who became inspired from early dj college tours. mass manipulation is a commentary on how easily our minds can become manipulated by the things we consume in society. we consume heavily through the media, which, in turn, tries to curate our thoughts and dictate how we as humans are supposed to live and behave. this album plays off this idea and invites people to become hypnotized, allowing their brains to be manipulated by my music in the hope they might see things through a new perspective (perhaps an outer world viewpoint). one where everyone is free from the unrealistic expectations planet earth has drawn for them. a world of acceptance and hypnosis.
la.-based producer/composer/dj matt lange delivers a darkly melodic breed of electronic music rooted in raw energy and emotion. hand-selected by deadmau5 as one of the latest signings to his label mau5trap, the lifelong musician now makes his full-length debut with the groove-heavy, intricately textured ephemera. as his first album release for mau5trap, ephemeras title reflects the restless innovation inherent in lange s musicianship. the albums really a snapshot of where i am right now as an artist, lange explains. it s this turning point where i have one foot in the world of dance music, and the other foot in a whole different direction.

deadmau5 is back with huge smash hit >ghosts n stuff< and the minimal >peddler of misery<. ghosts n stuff was written especially for deadmau5s essential selection live from the warehouse project manchester. a new musical direction for the mau5, ghosts n stuff is a gigantic slab of french house. big organs and synths collide alongside a killer bassline and tight percussion. ghosts n stuff looks like being one of mau5s biggest hits to date. peddler of misery is the complete opposite to ghosts n stuff with its minimal arrangement and trippy double beat. the percussion is delayed and crazy, helping to create real messed up dancefloor moments!
a new project from hot drum & bass producer spor, feed me aims to delve into the darker, twisted side of electronica. big thrashy synths and crazy production fill these tracks with an air of insanity. both tracks have been causing serious damage in festivals the world over when dropped by mau5trap main man deadmau5 this summer. this is an amazing debut from feed me and he is one to definitely keep an eye out for in 2009…

anyone that attended a deadmau5 show this year would have experienced electrifying live renderings of material from his third production compilation album 4x4=12, due out december 2010 on virgin records. the guardian said of the live show... >with respect to kraftwerk and daft punk, this must be among the most visually spectacular shows in dance music history< whilst the observer said... >its the personality dj turned into sermonising sensationalist, the decks turned into hi-tech pulpit, the performer mutating into pure illusion, a new commercial art form emerging from the smoking ruins of pop history<.
