its time to deliver the second ep from adana twins latest mix compilation and with this one we set the focus to the more organic and off kilter leanings from lehar, sbth, acid pauli, musumeci and stereocalypse. kicking things off is italys lehar with his super slick ‘blue wolf where robust percussions culminate in a potent groove laying the foundation for lush sonic melodies that transport you into uniquely sublime spaces. sbth follows with the exceptionally unique ‘4w1r6 where they forgo the standard four-to-the-floor approach and employ a distinguished and uncommonly unique 3/4 time signature to full effect creating a swelling and brooding number assuring a definite, clear memory long after it ends. flipping to the b-side we see the renowned acid pauli in top form as he relies heavily on thick organic percussion and plush musicality with his ‘greetings from orgonon before switching gears as musumeci delivers a stunner with ‘invaders where past meets present as disco, techno and house all meet in one harmonious culmination. to round out the ep, stereocalypses ‘jubeelee! is an expertly crafted venture into the modern techniques of infectious afro-house concluding an extremely well rounded ep showcasing the diversity of adana twins selection and diversity.

ltd 2017 repress - david august is somebody you would t expect on innervisions, but once you ve listened to his - epikur - everything makes sense immediately. when we started innervisons 9 years ago we never thought about reaching number 50. especially with only 5 to 6 releases a year. but here we are to celebrate with a bang. 4 eps from 4 different producers who never released on innervisions before - recondite, orson wells, david august and frankey & sandrino. it is rather a step into the future than a look back on what we achieved. cause as we all know - this is not the end.
the beating heart of our annual summer gathering, subsonic music festival, is the paradiso stage from which this ep takes its inspiration. with a soundtrack from some of our favourite underground international & local artists, this ep represents just a slice of that unique place. on the a-side is the always incredible and globally respected alexkid & the man of the moment who is making huge waves after an amazing year of releases, stephan bazbaz. on the b-side we go deeper with some of australia’s finest boy wonder retza and the sophisticated minimal grooves of katie drover.
since this year still hot are proud to welcome martin to their artist rooster. with his new -treat me bad- banger he finally makes his ep debut on still hot and proves his -all in- aspiration yet again. the title track -treat me bad- is an impressive demonstration of how striking electronic music can be when elaborate percussion and sound quality come together. massively powerful and just as smart -treat me bad- promises to have a salient impact on international dancefloors. with gorge we are glad to have another heavyweight on board who gave -treat me bad- a looser and more spherical vibe, however just as danceable as the original.
three years incubation, visionquest compadre antonio thagma returns to follow up his evergreen ‘leather soul’ ep. taking off where his molten constructions left us in 2015, it’s another kinetic experience where the groove is full, and only, focus… and the one and only ricardo villalobos is on hand for a genuinely beautiful remix. ‘sferikum’ instantly locks you in: upbeat with a subtle strut and a maze of psychedelic textures, this one is all about the rolling subs that underpin every element, bringing everything together with fluid motion. it’s backed by the broken electroid charm of ‘everything i wanted’. spacious, pensive and laced with an array of dizzying details from sly acid sinews to crafty drum variations by way of a sudden heart-stopping breakdown. truly, this lives up to its name. complementing these two exceptional originals, and celebrating antonio’s return to visionquest at the highest level possible, villalobos has been recruited for remix duties. a key staple of his sets this summer, it’s a singular 13 minute trip rich in subversion, twists, glitches and surprises. but, as always, the groove is the full, and only, focus. welcome back antonio…
