2018 repress, limited to 200 copies!
relentless as any artist peven everett has the knack of putting out lots of beautiful unique songs. voted number one rnb artist in chicago, peven has a massive following of soul heads around the world. we at bombay have big fans from day one with his early work with roy davis jr. and the classic bombay release men from the nile “watch them come”. his career has seen him drop some classic records including the “studio confessions” project. his bombay releases are 2 dance floor cuts from his deep collection. “heat up”, a catchy vocal cut on a super funky groove with warm keys and a bumping bassline. along with “when we’re together”, a chicago style dance floor loop with layered with peven’s infectious harmonies. the additional heat up club edit courtesy of the awaaz kids adds a thump and snap to the song for people who like that.
repress 2018, finally, i was able to be re-united with my father, rick (poppa) howard, in the studio again. he had two thoughts about the selections on this particular vinyl piece: >can your love find its way< is the track that laid out, and also, that he believed us to be blessed both in being reunited, and in what we were there to do. as my father continually offers me a knowledge that takes me time (sometimes years) to understand, i am very proud to offer this release to the world.
danny minchella aka rogue d to the family! his debut release comes on the ten inch series of housewax! -resampled- is a real house anthem and on top we have on the b side a fantastic minimono remix! highly recommanded!
music is feeling, music is meetings. in 2015, the s3a records 04 was released with collaborations of good friends of s3amet in the world by the music (tito wun, mannmademusic). this sampler continue the story with tracks from people s3a met during gigs and travels in the past year: sweely delivers here great speedy long jazz banger with a great voice sample as a theme. the columbian felipe gordon gives a great stompy funk bass track! on the b side, the french g2s drops a beautiful house sample based -graef like- song. for the last track need a little bit of story. in 2016 s3a released an ep called 3711 on soundofspeed records in japan. the track -bush- taken from this ep has been remixed during a contest in early 2018. 42 remixes were done and the winner has is remix edited here. pnom pen gives us here his 80 s electro version of the track adding great pads and a complete different rhythm and grooves!
in 1989, an italo-house act sueño latino released a self titled track, which went on to become one of the most revered electronic music records of all time. louis botella is now set to release a sensational remake on emerald city this september. the track itself samples part of manuel göttsching’s influential e2-e4, an album known for its role in the development of house and techno. fast forward to 2018 and the record is again set to be revived thanks to louis botella, and with the blessing and support of göttsching and expanded music. on his interpretation of the track, louis has stayed true to the original, replaying each part and adding an extra dimension to the tracks through a sparkling piano topline, a new vocal hook and dreamy arpeggiations. louis’ passion for the art of djing was sparked from a young age. at sixteen he got his first gig at a club in luxemburg and released his first record in 1998. since then, he’s released on respected labels such as classic music company, ovum records and poker flat recordings.
slamming deep house with funky & disco moments
the „will you be there ep” completes the „christophe salin - ep series“. he is taking us on his musical journey and paves the way for cooperation with future artists on his very own imprint „salin records” that he runs with his wife daria salin as a platform for electronic music and art. „to love” is what it’s all about, love your next one, love yourself, love what you do, love music and art. needing a bridge at this point nothing would be sweeter than a little excursion to the french touch sound and vibes of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. so, the a-side ends up with a question „shall i give love another try“…flip side „i’ll think of you” keeps this mood until „your soul” takes us slowly over to the final declaration of love „lullaby for daria“.
goshawk returns for hudd traxx 60th release with erik rico supplying the vocals. get up 2 get down is a peak time groover with plenty of funk to boot accompanied by some seriously soulful lyrics. art of tones picks up the pace on the remix with a heavy bass line added with open hats to take things up a notch. flip for the b side and find the love has gone, a brilliantly made house track made for the dancefloor. goshawk closes things out with a laid back deep house dub on b2

croatian producer ilija rudman returns to classic with his funk-drenched ‘lovers change minds’. well-known for his distinctive analogue-disco sound, the record’s delivery on 12” vinyl comes as a perfect pairing. he remains reverent to his well-rounded retro style with heavily filtered soft vocals complimented by a deep 70s-centric bassline. hot toddy’s bass-focused mixes come laden with electric guitar riffs and synth flares for an even slicker groove on ilija’s smoothly minimalist masterpiece.

after last year’s acclaimed bb boogie album “standing on the wall”, darren benjamin aka daz-i-kue returns with this incredible slice of latin jazz futurism. between 2012 and 2016 daz travelled to puerto rico to record with an array of talented musicians, laying down the framework percussion, bass and horns to be worked on when he returned to his studio in atlanta. “crash boat party” is his collaboration with ex fania all stars percussionist hector “tempo” alomar and features atlanta-based trumpeter dashill smith, (who’s worked with roy ayers, janell monet, and miguel atwood-fergurson to name but three), and accomplished bassist mamaniji azanyah. already licensed to feature in bobbito’s forthcoming documentary “rockrubber 45s”, this is timeless latin-jazz fire. the single is backed with “esto es candela con ritmo nene”, also from those sessions, taking things firmly into bruk-jazz territory.

ditongo is telling tales through samples and loops in these two tracks. divided into two chapters each (spot the ghost-marker on the vinyl), he digs deep into samba for the first time with “berimbau”, giving the leading role to a hypnotic organ, while the second track “you know nothing” goes back to funk, dominated by a fat bassline.
foxy red recordings is proud to announce their first vinyl release consisting of four deep & funky house tunes by titlez! if you re up for the warmth, depth, and feel of the classic house sounds of chicago – look no further! titlez s new ep delivers the goods while going for a diverse, organic, and eclectic production approach. you can expect punchy drums combined with live(ly) percussion samples, jazzy piano chords, and spacey pads, among other studio trickery.
up next on trouble maker we have got some intergalactic riddims courtesy of newcomer cosmic weirdos - extra terrestrial. the aptly named >renegade< keeps things cool on the inside and rowdy on the outside....somewhere between electro & techno this is the track nasa have been trying to discover for the past decade. >satisfaction< takes us on a trip around jupiter and finds itself disco dancing with unidentified alien lifeforms. on the remix we have got someone who definitely knows a thing or two about inter-dimensional space travel - mr carl finlow aka random factor aka silicon scally - who serves up exactly the kind of quality you would expect from the captain of the starship enterprise. the truth is out there...
unlimited source’s ‘down in the cellar’ ep from 1982. up-front uk jazz-funk fusion via luton and neighbouring hertfordshire that cuts across genres and has stood the test of time to cut across generations 35-plus years later and become a dance-floor under-the-radar essential. features their previously unreleased cover of the skip scarborough penned ‘love ballad’ alongside the sought-after top-drawer jazz dancer ‘nicoca nicola’. plus some break-beats on that title cut.
since the very first release of tommy s turbojazz project, we wanted to have him with us on the boast. this excellent ep proves his great musical skills and we are thrilled to release this wide range music. bangers with solos, acoutstic deep house, hiphop interludes, regular hiphop house sampled song or even a smashing -emotional disco- track done in collab with s3a complete this ep. we would highly suggest you to dig (literally) this release for home listening or dancefloor play.
mood to move ep is a six-part musical retrospect into the work of veteran japanese house producer takecha, the little-known artist has been sporadically releasing analogue house on his own gwm imprint since the mid-90s, however trouble maker had only recently discovered his works and were dying to hear more. the music he sent was far too good to remain unheard, so we twisted the little-known maestro’s arm and managed to grab a selection of six unreleased and never before heard cuts for your audio pleasure. created between 1995-2000, these musical gems were left dormant on dat tapes in takechas basement - until now! with classic house being the flavour throughout, the high-quality production and deeply-resonant synth lines of each track leave an imprint that’s hard to forget. if this is your first time hearing takecha you certainly won’t be disappointed., released on 12 inch vinyl , shrinked wrapped

chapter 6: in taxon he intertwined saxophone, free voices, funk, jazzy and electronics. kevlar is headed by a strident and wandering guitar on a carpet of percussion. 33vs45 is a piece composed to be played at 33rpm but also lends itself to be proposed in 45rpm in daniele baldelli’s style, accustomed to propose records played at the wrong speed for unforeseen effects.
viva music boss steve lawler serves up a brace of balearic-tinged groovers as he preps for another firecracker season in ibiza and brings his years of experience and production prowess to phil weeks’ robsoul recordings imprint for the very first time. adding a dash of breezy, feel good aesthetics - mixed with shuffling, shining rhythms - opening track feelin has a light and steady pace, retaining a focus on groove and space, with vocal chops dusted across the track while melodic atmospheres underpin and a deep, soulful and powerful soul vocal sample cements the hands in the air vibe. equally sun kissed is take me there, bringing a percussive rhythm, laced with bongo hits and skins, while more vocal chops and layered percussion find themselves dancing in perfect matrimony. another day, and another dancefloor weapon from birmingham s finest.
it really feels like we (aka mad mats & tooli) have been around way longer than 5 1/2 years with local talk, but it s really true what they say, time flies when you re having fun! from what started as a somewhat simple and almost primitive urge to create a small house imprint has now grown into a much bigger affair. we really tried hard to keep the label from getting stuck in any genre (remember 90s house?) and to always keep the local talk relevant, curious, diverse and with a healthy dose of underground mentality. from our very first release with bassfort s excellent moon shadow in the summer of 2011, we had a crystal clear vision of what local talk should represent...house music in any way, shape or form! over the years we released soulful, disco, jack, afro, vocal, deep, jazz, tech, latin, old school, acid, uk, berlin, new jersey, detroit and of course chicago inspired house music. if it made us bump...we put it out! this brings us up to today and about +80 releases later. we thought about how we best could sum up these first 5 1/2 years and immediately the image of blaze s classic album 25 years later popped up. besides the fact that it s an amazing album cover it also a good representation when different musical genres fuse together. it s not strictly a house album but just as well a r&b, reggae and soul album. this fusion and variation of house sounds is something that we ve tried to capture on our 5 1/2 years later compilation, split into two parts. on part 2 you ll find a high energy disco rub from parisian s3a, a truly deep and soulful vocal jam from boddhi satva & sly johnson, a deep uk garage production from smbd (aka simbad), a dark and electronic affair from toto chiavetta (yoruba) and finally a musical acid number with that magical bristol touch from newcomer marcel lune. all in all we think we got most angles covered and hopefully this album will make you spread that chalk on the dance floor and get down...local talk style
its been nearly a year since he featured on robsoul, under his v.i.c.a.r.i. alias, but sheffield house don tommy vicari jnr returns to the label with another beautifully creative ep. opener ‘breff’ is a coming together of polar opposites. whilst harps glide across the prodigious pulse of its acidic bassline, open hats shimmy and snares strike. somehow, all together, it works to perfection. the quaking bass, grinding stab and ‘get dahn’ vocal serve to create a stripped back tool across the opening bars of our a2. however when the beats drop its secret is revealed within its killer groove. as the lights come on tommy rolls out one final jam in glittery disco cut ‘in the night’. a last seductive slice from the northern powerhouse and one that leaves us hotly anticipating his robsoul return.
jt donaldson, dj and producer from texas has an impressive background with releases and collaborations on prestigious labels like balance, earthtones, distance, panhandle…and cyclo. he developed his own style of house music throughout the years using influences from jazz, funk & soul. this reissue ep originally out in 1999 is one of his best, 4 pieces of fuzzy house with spaced out effects, heavy bass rides and unique groove
boogie café black s next outing gives you reworks of some stone cold classics from undisputed truth and james brown and mrs shaw, on side a, -mannmademusic- brings the deep disco house vibe with reworks of undisputed truth and james brown. flip it over for some marlena-inspired slinky business. jank s version is slow and dirty, while the mannmademusic remix takes it up a notch so you can take it to the dancefloor. early support from neil diablo, noel watson, rahaan, john morales, dj nature and deli g.
pessoas que eu conheço is back with a new 12 that highlights why instrumental virtuosity is still the bee’s knees. glorious solos and otherworldly pads go head to head and head directly to the heart of your favourite retro video game.
realness: if there was one word you’d use to sum up parisian house dealer phil weeks that would definitely be it. he’s never kowtowed to trends or hype. he’s never compromised. he’s never lost focus of his primary goal: to make undiluted, straight-up house music that physically moves you.nearly 20 years deep as a dj, artist and founder starting the new year with a serious statement of groove intent, the eight track package is the follow up to his successful 2012 collection ‘raw instrumental’. his fifth studio album in total, the title says it all: rawness and full focus on both the dancefloor and the best creative djs. no messing around, each track is tailored for total mix and party pleasure and covers every shade of the night. it’s peaky business from the off as phil lights the fire with ‘the rhythm’ an incendiary burner that sp flexing a classic blaze sample, all the elements build with the bulldozer drums and subs pushing relentlessly. ‘oh baby’, meanwhile, slips us into a something slinkier with its bumping deep drum shuffle and optional instrumental.
new years deal - compassion crew fires up windows 95 for the three-pronged habitue - the hardy dubliner gets in a huff on habitué i, does it for the trackheads on ii, and stops you in your tracks with the mesmerising, meandering habitue iii
140 gram white vinyl lp limited to 100 copies
building a formidable reputation as an artist with a diverse set of approaches in the field of electronic music, ukranian producer cape cod delivers his debut album on kiev house in a fine display of musicianship. from the opening track -among the stars- (which features constantine on vocal) it s clear that this will be more than a straight up collection of dancefloor tracks. there are indeed some upbeat house tracks to be enjoyed, not least on the razor sharp garage bumper -we don t have to-, but there s also equal space given over to more introspective jams such as -put u down-.
the first release on neon finger found dutch veteran dj overdose turning out a surprising blend of boogie on the techno hop lp, but for the second installment on the spanish label the remit proves to be wide as inkswel and lesser known the jungle sessions join forces for secret river. this meeting of minds, recorded on a raft of vintage electro-funk equipment, culminates in a perfect slab of sweet, low slung grooves for every boogie enthusiast to engage with. there are instrumental delights aplenty, but also some welcome vocal cuts such as the essential -sucka free- featuring john robinson on the mic.
ltd 2016 re:issue
an undercover dj drops the pace for this release, starting his new series of limited edition, no info and no nonsense 12 inches. channelling the queen of neo soul and hardest working man in show business through a dub heavy detroit beatdown filter into wild deep house. for fans of the revenge, mark e and motor city drum ensemble these raw, soul drenched house grooves will appeal to the djs who like to work a floor into a frenzy.
after “theory of strings (part1)” ennio colaci and fabio della torre present the second part! the first track of a-side is the one who gives the title to the whole project, - theory of strings-, a dubby groover with a funky and psychedelic feel in the vein of a more coloured and dirtier studio 1 or soundhack. the -feeling good vibe- keeps going relaxed and chill with the smart up and down mood of the track -forty degrees- while on b side minimono get drier, minimalistic and more mysterious with the subtle after-hour jam of rewind. this strong effort by fabio and ennio ends trough the cinematic atmosphere and the romantic piano notes of the gentle but raw closing act -still mine-. mind the strings!
the music has come into my life when i was about 9 years old, thanks to one of my sisters tape with songs by bob marley and the wailers. so i switched from reggae to dub, from dub to jazz, from jazz to radical improvisation in a moment.now i m 33, and after producing pretty much any kind of music, i want to put together what i still like of dub music with that of the south of europe, which is the place where i grew up, melting everything together with vintage equipments and working with modern machines at the same time. playing and producing this music has been therapeutic for my head. making all this known is for me like seeding again the love for music without any distinction. andrea gabriele 1981 - 2015

repress 2016 ...linkwood gives us whats up with the underground? hot, urgent, joyous jazz/house music thats guaranteed to ignite any dancefloor be warned, spontaneous human combustion is a real risk when this record hits. fudge fingas drops the heavyweight ‘escape. with samples from cult tv series ‘the prisoner, huge synth lines and beats like vintage glenn underground this is definitely odd house music turn it up! the complainers bacon rolls is bizarre funk from somewhere else entirely if chris cunningham made a porno flick then this would be the soundtrack. plus theres extra sickness from whats up with the beats? (rather than a mere dub, this is almost an entirely different jump-up disco track) and a bonus firecracker skit.
wade from hello records called mr. pc “detroit’s hardest working dj” about a year back, and the fruits of his labor shine through on this curious beatdown and jazz funk re-edit record. in his own words, “the scene doesn’t need another hand-stamped and numbered vinyl-only disco edit label, so i went ahead and took the proverbial razor and tape to some jazz-fusion-disco-not-disco tracks that influenced me coming up as a bass player, now fully capable for dj dance floor elevation.”
limited to 450 hand-stamped and numbered copies.

das prignitzkombinat ist zurueck mit einem neuen release ihres labels zum eigenen club, dem aggregat. nach dem sehr guten ersten release auf aggregat concept series mit dem schwerpunkt techno, rückt mit dieser veroeffentlichung house in den vordergrund. funk fetisch liefert hier mit dieser ep zwei feine tracks seiner definition von house ab. der track >gotta get down< zeigt deutlich seine einfluesse aus den verschiedenen genres des klassischen housesounds, typische skippy beats, jazzy chords und discofilter loops bilden hier das house. bei >black is beautiful< behaelt funk fetisch diesen charakter, allerdings wirkt alles insgesamt moderner. groovige beats und eine tiefe bassline bilden das bett für atmosphaerische warme pads, akzentuierte chords und verspielte melodielaeufe. james johnstons (no matter what) remix zu >gotta get down< geht direkt in die beine, straight, fokussiert und sehr kraftvoller house, der zeigt, dass der mann aus glasgow sein handwerk aeußerst gut versteht. danke james! p.s.: this ep is dedicated to all the lovely people from the diamond s kitchen in northallerton, uk
