2021 repress ,allen saei, also known as aubrey, has the experience of a record shop owner mixed to the one of a warned label manager. his music tastes are very varied. with his first love of hip hop as a teenager moving quickly onto the emerging acid house scene from chicago, then to detroit techno and new york house, his music productions testify the perfect knowledge of all three genres.

the west loop chicago collective reportedly span continents, pooling soul-soaked talents into some truly powerful dance music. -knocking on the door of the cosmos- doffs its cap to sun ra with some crafty samples, but the musical vibe is more in line with the likes of andres, dego or other such masters of irrepressibly funky house music. -theme for chicago- takes an iconic roy ayers jam and gets wild with the filter, -son of equinox- trips down a loose and limber jazz funk pathway and -payback- whips up some tightly clipped samples into a pumped up peak time belter. from start to finish this ep oozes class and authenticity - a serious grip for any self-respecting midwest heads.

that time when the sun crosses the plane of the earth’s equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth. equinox is p.e.a.r.l. his debut on float records. as known for his aesthetic grooves we are proud to add this berlin based spanish producer to our catalogue. this three track ep does exactly what the title implies.
equinox i hits it right in the centre, with vibes perfect for either sunset or sunrise. the hypnotic sequence will cut through your brain and makes sure you don’t even know if it’s night or day. equinox ii represents the night. again an incredible solid sequence, but with a raw edge assisted by a haunting soundscape doing justice to the dark. no one is safe for this killer. when day time arrives you will be introduced to equinox iii. this seems to be the most friendly track, but don’t let it fool you. a smart percussive rhythm does the magic and creates the hypnotic experience you can expect from p.e.a.r.l.

am 23. juli feiert der film -becks letzter sommer- mit christian ulmen in der hauptrolle seine leinwandpremiere. ein intensives kinoerlebnis mit einem intensiven soundtrack. der stammt von dem schweizer tobias jundt alias bonaparte. vom ersten ton an wird klar: kaum ein musiker lebt seine fantasien mit einer vergleichbaren intensität aus wie der wahl-berliner. zudem ist die paarung ulmen-jundt perfekt, da die beiden bereits während der vergangenheit in der band cashpunk künstlerisch zusammengearbeitet haben.

shaw cuts enters the site of crime with its first release called ‘have sword, will travel’. the ep includes 4 techno assassins – two tracks by the label founder himself lachriz, who introduces his shaolin moniker ‘farron’ and 2 remixes by the argentinian boxer jonas kopp. ‘equinox’ opens the slaughter with shaking break-beat punches in combination with atmospheric pads surrounding the drum jabs. ti lung would have been pleased. the track ‘apo-g’ comes in sly and chases the enemy with dirty drums and menacing distorted sound spheres that will morph the bad guys into dead guys – throwing star style. the b-side gets taken over all the way by jonas kopp, who brings up two different remixes of ‘equinox’ that can easily cut off the rival’s extremities like a sharp guillotine. and the carnage just begun
