karim sahraoui, known by releases on labels such as transmat, cocoon and arts, as well as dj appearances on boiler room and on dancefloors all around the world, makes his debut on off recordings. book of life is a melodic techno track in karim s signature style. warm and emotional, albeit with a strong drive for the dancefloor, it can set a strong accent in a set. italy s dast created a slamming peaktime techno interpretation, which is sure to create a massive effect on the dancefloor. syncopated chords and a rolling groove build towards an epic break. -exodus- is aptly named as a perfect track to close the set by the end of the night. lush and warm pads and melodies evoke a warm and optimistic atmosphere. anton pieete remixed exodus with a minimalistic and more groove-focused interpretation. altogether an ep with a timeless feel, spanning the borders between techno, house and electronica.

the groove brothers, aka jef k and rhythm&soul, keep things moving with the second release on their fledgling label, on a mission records. it’s been seven months since the label’s debut, demonstrating the duo’s considered approach to their outlet, which has been set up to capture the true spirit of house music, basing its ideals on some of the industry’s most respected labels and keeping that timeless, classic ethos alive. this second release unites the label owners with a couple of newcomers to the scene. retaining the sultry outlook of the first release the groove brothers inject jazzy notes and smooth funky rhythms into their music, while mr ks and kub follow in a similar vein with their well-crafted contributions. ks expanding on the jazz theme, while kub takes a more sensual pathway. legworks 2nd single comes from another one of our texas compatriates, the indelible brett johnson, fresh off some amazing work on classic, get physical, rawax and other killer imprints. the mission harks back to some of our favourite dub-techno moments, but keeps its own flare with bretts signature robo-rhythms and chopped and screwed vocal cuts. on the remix tip, its label head lance desardi & convextion bringing their own flavour to the table respectively, with lance stepping to the chord memory, deep bass, and over sampled drums, and convextion going all the way out into hyper space with his usual sub-aquatic space funk.

on a mission records is the new label runned by jef k and rhythm&soul. focused on keeping alive the spirit of house music that inspires their own musical background. the first release comes with their project: the groove brothers. a classic flavoured house package that shows the label identity. the a side starts with -soul food café-. a strong 4x4 beat, house chords, some vocal hits and catchy piano melody. an everlasting groove. -everyday- is a track made to shake girls on the dancefloor. a funky bassline and a r n b vocal sample that slowly goes warmer and warmer. a summer tune that shows that both producers really like it when things goes sexy. on the b side a remix of -soul food café- by nottingham house legend, nail. a powefull remix that brings his extraordinary touch. floating chords a boundless groovy pad and a pumpy bassline that drives the original track into a timeless uk house anthem.

from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.
