we hope you like this ep as much as we do, resolute label resolute label s tenth release, the nest ep , features the head honcho himself, elon. written and produced entirely in nest s brooklyn based studio, this ep is a collaborative project that showcases vintage gear such as the tr-808, 909, prophet 6, tb-303 and sh-101 to name a few. the ep kicks off with the title track, a stripped back number featuring arpeggiated synths, warm pads and 303 stabs, co-produced by bulgarian live maestro, kink, an industry vet who needs no introduction. on a2, elon teams up with the machine obsessed italian, mass_prod, for fractious , a techno number with swirling synths and reverberated vocal stabs that echo throughout. on the flipside, elon collaborates with techno don alexi delano aka adny to produce flirtface , a groovy 303 bassline track with resonant synth licks that keeps the mood rolling. the b2 vinyl exclusive track, meander , features a second collaboration with kink. offered as a digital exclusive and co-produced by david scuba, last call features a modulated bassline and intricate drum programming that effortlessly rolls along.

* sheffield-based subaltern resident taiko returns to the imprint with a stunning selection of four distinctively grimy pieces of sub-bass science, proving once again his original take on the 140 bass realm. a. trenches introducing his unique style once again with a fresh twist, taiko delivers relentless earth-shattering bass waves in ‘trenches’, which graces the a side of the release. bells, strings and dark synths set the mood for a precisely executed wall of bass, complimented by subtle vocal work. b1. raid dramatic orchestral strings and horns set the stage for the grim reaper that is ‘raid’ - leading into a dark and roaring synth that accentuates the laid back bass-line. sure to shake every system it is unleashed on, the track keeps evolving and luring the listener ever deeper into a maze of darkness. you can run but you can’t hide… b2. mana pool ‘mana pool’ adds a more psychedelic and subtle edge to the release. synth loaded parts play in exchange with carefully laid out harmonic synth lines complementing the tasteful bass-lines, while remaining the raw edge of the release.

nachdem er sich mit sir coxsone, dem legendären chef des kingstoner labels studio one, zerstritten hatte, gründete lee perry zuerst seine eigene band und dann, 1973, im hinterhof ein eigenes studio. was aus der not geboren wurde, entwickelte sich zu einer einzigartigen erfolgsgeschichte. sowohl mit den upsetters als auch dem black ark schrieb perry musikgeschichte, insbesondere durch das 1976 veröffentlichte -super ape--album, auf dem er gewissermaßen das genre dub auf unbekannte weise aus dem mischpult brodeln ließ. für perry ist das studio wie ein lebewesen. ob er es wirklich so empfindet, oder einfach nur zu viel ganja in rauch aufgehen lässt, aber bei perry ist das equipment organisch, empathisch und intelligent. der clou: so hören sich die resultate auch an! lange bevor man das sampling erfunden hatte, schichtete er tonspuren aus tiefen bässen, echos und hall mit diversen, selbst aufgenommenen, gerne rückwärts laufenden klangsequenzen auf-, in- und übereinander. heißt: perry war der erste produzent, der anstatt der band die musik machte. das brachte ihm unter anderem den titel salvador dalí des dub ein. dass der Über-80-jährige bis heute nichts von seiner experimentierfreude verloren hat, zeigt der mit dem new yorker subatomic sound system besorgte re-edit seines meilensteins.

following an extended break tsuba returns, looking back to move forward with an official reissue of dreamworld by westworld originally released in 1990. the charms of this record endure 27 years later with a twinkling melody, starry eyed piano line and emotive bassline. the one and only gerd janson adds subtle touches to dreamworld and the old school flavoured the slam along with a dj tool of dub siren beats.

it was such a hot day in may 2014, we all remember, moscoman drop by his home town of tel aviv to do a party with krikor aka crackboy as his guest, they had a few hours to kill just before the gig, mosco rang up his old compadres and brothers in arms red axes, to see what they were up to, they were just hanging at the studio, “we’re coming” he said, and the rest is history, thanks to the taxi driver abed that was waiting downstairs to take them to the gig, they had vocals to finish this track and mosco had the chance to play this track that night already. powered by a uncompromising mix from no doubt one of the best producers of electronic music, roman flügel, and another killer by red axes, not a lot is left to do but wait for this monster record to drop.

we present the final part of the our 10th anniversary trilogy. for the a side one of the most iconic tracks from the tsuba catalogue gets a very special remix from dungeon meat. the dm duo of brawther and tristan da cunha retain the hooks from the original adding a break heavy groove and their own unique touches resulting in a remix that successfully straddles genres and will appeal to a variety of tastemaking djs. for the b1 midnight special, the project comprising tsuba boss kevin griffiths and justin drake, deliver nude runner which nods ahead towards disco with a rolling bassline and sampled strings. the closing track on the ep and our 10 year celebrations comes from m.ono and luvless with the proto nu house of fettluke. the three samplers are vinyl only releases.
