with an enviable private collection of synthesisers amassed during his travels to the us in the early 1970’s and shipped home to tel aviv (where he was an established kinetic artist, as well as a professor of both philosophy and art) ami’s main focus was the desire to combine his love of electronic music acts such as tangerine dream, philip glass and new synthesiser technology, with his interest in the relatively new technique of biofeedback - a process in which technology was used to relay information about the body’s functions in order to enable a change of physiological activity.

the newest release from unrilis packs a literal one-two punch with “stay with me”, a hard-hitting double feature with kaiserdisco and fabio neural bringing out their finest work for summer 2016. the combined efforts of frederic berger and patrick buck under the name kaiserdisco deliver no less than their best on this collaboration with a lifer if there ever was one: fabio neural, who brings a love he has held since the age of 13 to the collaborative efforts showcased here. having earned respect with appearances on record labels like drumcode, and gracing clubs like soundgarden and festivals across europe, one hopes this is far from the last listeners will get from this truly outstanding partnership.

lead track is - calle sevilla that immediately commands attention with it s locked tight groove, piano licks and warm rhodes keys that lead us to the mighty bassline and we re already feeling the intensity. a synth riff comes in and builds to the main break and creates an atmosphere that takes us on a trip to the sunshine coast of maybe ibiza, right before it drops back in!

tunesmith lakaband is back with another pop confection on her imprint, this time pairing up with the artful producer behind raiders of the lost arp, mario pierro. with a unique appeal, neural affinity gathers raw electro sounds and declamatorily chanted lyrics about extrasensory perception. on the flip side, raiders of the lost arp takes the wheel to deliver an elegant remix and dub, some impeccable and slick dance floor gems. like thought transmission, charisma travels well over the ether. ice cool.

lybes dimem is a project by visual artist and musician lukas rehm. with elaborate beat structures and the use of error, the music plays with cognitive phenomena and abstraction while maintaining an emotional refuge. lybes dimem is presented in formats ranging from spatial sound experiences to synesthetic shows complementing the auditive layers with visualizations of realtime data, computer graphics and moving image. lukas rehms installative art, and compositions have been internationally presented and awarded with multiple emerging arts prices. syncleft chronem is the first album released by lybes dimem in both digital and vinyl for-mat and accompanied by a moving image artwork. the title reflects the projects interest in the potential of difference, cognitive frictions and exertion: sync variability in the processing of auditive and visual signals, syncleft the synaptic cleft, which is a crucial empty spa- ce in biological neural networks, chronem the chroneme as a theoretical unit to measure the time of an articulated sound. mathematically clean sounds juxtapose patterns and transitions familiar from the realm of organic acoustics. multi-layered noise textures ex- plore the simulated space. a tem- porary continuity is provided by percussive and melodic elements, right until the next escalation, eventually awaiting a concluding resolution. the visual language explores different phenomena and techniques of cognition inspired by the rhetorics of big science (computer graphics, discontinuity of material, pop cultural references).

frankyeffe s riot recordings returns on wax with four techno weapons. on the a side hidden empire s remix for fabio neural is a techno dreamy track with a lead 303 acid bass. aitor ronda returns on the label with a techno proper track ready to burn the dancefloor. on the b side spartaque and astrea bring us to another dimensions with moss and sere di marzo, two tracks full of sounds and melodies.

&apos’s music veers between abstract, experimental compositions and more beat driven tracks, all held together by a defined aesthetic of sonic impurities and random patterns thrown up by algorithmic computations. in &apos’s music compositional decisions are not merely reliant on himself but also on a range of processes from constrained randomness to full fledged neural networks. that is to say, the ‘instruments’ he creates have -to a certain extent- a mind of their own. there will always be a dynamic between the musician and something else that triggers, proposes or decides what will happen to the music.it is exactly from this human-machine interaction that &apos extrapolates his musical ideas that are both intricate and detailed while never losing an overall sense of emotional value. his first solo project ‘lichtdrank’ is a selection of four tracks made during his time studying sonology at the hague’s royal conservatory and the time following. it is the third and final installment of bepotel s startuplabel trilogy. previously, he has released music together with walrus and sagat under several musical projects like smaakwaterval and bepotel. the artwork of the lichtdrank ep is based on screenshots from an interactive multiplayer video game where the musical universe of &apos can be explored.

other people is excited to debut the work of 19-year-old russian producer gena volgarev, aka inlensk, with the obratno ep. translated as backward, or conversely, obratno seems obsessed with and frustrated by a sense of nostalgia that can never lock its focus. finely etched, highly detailed rhythms retain a cerebral cool fluttering over, under, and around melancholic digital melodies that bend and degrade sporadically. meanwhile, the tactile use of filtering, extreme pans, and hypnotic microprogramming reveals an interest in sounds ability to shift temporal perception and evoke a purely neural response

the tracks here are in the brutalist machine house vein and the source material for * we come together* (by mazi as asp and john griffin as awoke) will be familiar to devotees of roots chicago house. the brodanse brothers * sleep won t come* is remixed by audio soul project and awoke. chicago based multi-instrumentalist jonn wallen contributes the dense * aesthete* under pseudonym *by gordon gartrelle*. * we get together* is a tribute to the 90s house that inspired us to start making music years ago. people reminisce about how things used to be better, but you must breath in the present. we keep with us those hallowed bones but let pain and suffering fade into the mist. we let memories fade in the depths of our neural web so as not to be paralyzed by the burden of sentiment. we forget to stay sane.

in between the re-releases of the two legendary drexciya albums released on tresor in 99 and 01, the berlin techno institute is proud to re-present transllusions *mind over positive and negative dimensional matter*, the 12 inch single which originally accompanied the album *the opening of the cerebral gate*.

slag is a live techno band consisting of equal parts musicians and djs. the four experienced men draw on their experience from record shops dance floors and film-/ theater-music and have the common passion for techno in their neural pathways. with the passion for electronic music and classic synthesizers, they created a sound black as oil and white as freshly fallen snow. the band varies their performance with a large portion jam elements and makes their live shows tension filled in both club and concert performances. a concert by fire slag starts in the deepest dub and ends in a furious techno ballad.
