identified patient and his notorious femme fatale are back with another record of deranged darkroom anthems for pinkman. this 12 is where crunchy drums and heavy bass are laced with aggressively seductive vocals by sophie du palais. while the theme of the songs, compared with their previous record, goes in a rather kinky direction, the raw ferocity that never fails to grip a dance floor remains.

after the release on french label basse resolution and after a couple of years since his last ep on bosconi, having released with the -under the line- track one of the highlights of our latest 10 years compilation and as bss together with his mates fabio della torre and mass prod, rufus is back on bosconi with a new four tracker record which goes on a new direction compared to the past music he did. -ritual chants- was mainly recorded in the abandoned industrial area of milan called bovisa and probably for this reason the release sounds all around a bit sci fi, cinematic and especially gothic. all begins with the raw techno jam of -fast rituals- where structured mellow and dreamy synth lines combine with the dusty, aggressive and driving rhythmical transportation of its drum section. fast rituals is one of those electronic pieces which tells you a story from the beginning till the end, so please pay attention to it. -sapere sparare- looks calmer but actually has the more mental and psychotic feeling of the whole record, driven by an intoxicating and fat bass line, rough jazzy beats and a lot of twisted out fm synths goodness whose times are punctuated twice by the warning female vocal theme of the track. -last shot #5- instead is a jacked out, hypnotic and darker broken house track dense of pumping low ends and subtle but glorious synth riffs properly made for the late hours and totally in the vein of a baby ford - minimal man production.-tenebre- closes up the ep with its horror movie atmosphere, drilling drones here and there, big bouncy bass lines, reverberated snares, drama strings and a dominant sinister melody which slightly reminds of some old dbx track.

hard work is the first release on industria, robi insinna s brand new project label.

back in 2001 robi insinna founded the seminal relish label in direct response to a then- dominant sound in club music. its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he d go on to make himself under headman/manhead. fast forward to 2018 and after more than a decade he s on the move again launching new project label, industria with not quite an album, not quite an ep, hard work. robi felt there was no reason to split projects the way he did with his aliases and as such the debut will be released under robi s own name.
industria will be focused more on vinyl releases, but not solely vinyl. the project will encompass all area s of robi s work and ties together elements of his art and visual design projects.

italian producer and be free label head jäger makes his debut on underyourskin records with a haunting ‘mystical journey‘ that turns out to be a playful minimalistic techno approach in the beginning, before evolving into a dark synth driven and more techhouse dominant tune gaining its dancefloor eligibility with a heavy baseline. louis kolben, part of agents of time, takes on the technoid approach to create a wobbling stomper that could easily tear in any location it is played at. ‘mizar‘, the ep‘s second track, partly connects with regards to content to ‘mystical journey‘ but focussing merely on that dreamy aspect that claims its listeners and leads one to a state of trance. steffen sonnenschein builds up the track slower to delay its peak that hits heavily when the synth sounds are let loose and set the pace throughout the end.

the fifth release on baud music is the 2029 ep by dario zenker aka 4.26 from munich. distorted dub imitations rooted in a rhythmic foundation, supplemented with penetrating driving shakes, shape the character of the first track the chief. a floating, thumping bass line and claps with elegant dreamy strings characterize the second track least one on the a side. the flip side welcomes us with sherhood with his straight solid beat and a dominant, catchy hook. alen combines dubtechno and dupstep into free-floating wave elements and obscures the perception of the 4/4 time, which transfers the listener into a state of suspense.

rounding off what has been a busy year for idle hands comes a 12 inch from west country residents outboxx. this duo, comprised of jacob martin (aka hodge) and matthew lambert have steadily built a reputation for themselves with releases on well rounded and immerse. moving away from the dominant trends in bass music the pair have been forging a sound more akin to early nineties deep house - yet retaining a palette of 2011 sounds. here they present two tracks - >aporia< is a lesson in wistful house, all pianos and a sneeky bass drop half way through the tune. >cromwell< is a straight ahead house roller, but with enough sub to keep the bass enthusiasts happy. support so far from ramadanman and sven weiseman.

supported by tornado wallace (delusions of grandeur), pete herbert (reverso 68/dance disorder)... when jay shepheard launched retrofit in early 2010, deep house with a splash of disco was on the menu. six releases later and the quality of music hasnt faltered once. jays own work has always been the main focus on all five releases but for retrofit 6, rudys midnight machine, (who is in fact robin lee of faze action) takes to the stage alongside an appearance from shepheard (as ee_ef_ex) on remixing duties. >ecstatic love glow< kicks off the ep, diving head first into the disco and synth heavy realm that we expect from retrofit (and, for that matter, from mr lee), whose house outputs with faze action as far back as 97 speak for themselves. the intro of tip tapping hats and congas leads into a penetrating bass guitar, a riff that goes on to be cleverly mirrored by keyboards and later, by what sounds like a scratchy lakland guitar. wooden hats, sirens and a plethora of cosmic elements boogie their way around until the tracks dominant synth parades in and takes over the arrangement, striking a dramatic and smug pose at the close of each stab. the second track of >east side good living< sticks with its predecessors groove, cosmic sirens, electronic whistles and metallic drum taps yet again highlighting rudys modern disco sound

it is spring time! fitting for this time of year, the trio of iww celebrates their first lp with housy sounds. fabian kranz, co-founder and iww-resident, sets this label debut of, together with remixes from alex q and andrea di rocco, with his new tech-house project mr. smiley guy. the a-side resembles a jazz club ambience, whereat the remix from alex q who uses dominant string instruments, which entice to dreaming and awakes spring feelings. the b-side is also dominated by warm sound and lovely vocals, with a more minimal remix from andrea di rocco.

dj roc, known to his mother as clarence johnson, was born and raised on the southside of chicago better known as the low end. the crack in >crack capone< refers to his style of production. like an underground chemist, dj roc produces variant strains of chicago juke music, the crack referring to the synapse snapping, potentially ankle cracking manipulation of rhythms and the sampling, hijacking and ultra-rhythmic micro-editing of black american pops dominant forms into a style thats been developed and tested on the streets of chicago.

mr dehnert delivering! after is succesfull releases on fachwerk and the first basement series release its time for another essential techno release by mike dehnert. after the little hype on the many blogs its another release that will create a stir. lautschrift is probably the sexiest masculine techno track we ve heard in a while! a wolf in sheep clothes. undercooled phat techno drive with a nice mellow vocoder voice, soft bleepy sounds and a deep sub-bass... and then slowly the sexy bassline becomes more and more dominant and energetic and the tracks turns into a killer. amazing track! regelschrift and nano are two heavy techno tracks from the neue berliner techno schule. just as we like it!
