the dub communication label boss frenk dublin have prepared a very special 4-track ep that blends dub, jazz and dub techno for his moonshine recordings first solo release.

with his debut ep >swinger<, the multitalent from central germany now wants to conquer the club scene. as dj and event-manager he already has filled the dancefloors. now his songs should do likewise. inspired by the infamous clarinet-grooves of the roaring twenties and biting trombones >swinger< connects the organic sound of hand-played instruments with crunching techno beats.
the album exhausts the composition always a little bit more danceable, thanks to original instrumentation. but it is more than only dj-tools for the turntables. as the six tracks on >swinger< no second run out of ideas, it will effortlessly earn a wider audience.

the next roaring 20ies are yet to come and ostfunk delivers this electro-swing-fourtracker for this new party era in berlin. wolfgang lohr and klangkuenstler (famous as live act on germanys top event sonne mond sterne) deliver on their debut ep as guest-stars of ostfunk records the whole range of 2012 frenetic and happy swing sounds!

dmitry meshcheryakov hails from moscow but lives in canada, where he s been busy pumping out classically informed garage house for over five years. now plastik people s new sublabel rhythm people carries his first vinyl release, and hes stepped up with some surefire party starters. body werk is a bad ass swinger with a crafty bassline and all the right stabs and samples, while hands together gets into a more rolling peak time house flow. mike millrain drops a heavy remix of body werk that keeps the original ingredients intact and simply builds on them with subtle flourishes. smokey bubblin b gets busy with hands together, crafting a classic shuffling masterclass from the component parts.

black venison returns with their debut artist vrrs for the 5th release in the catalogue. the a side opens up with brique a crunching techno roller with a rave vocal straight out of the early 90s. hungarian producer s.olbricht turns in a jungle inspired remix of brique , chopped break and vocals are the order of the day. on the flip side we vrrs explores more housey territory first with innerside, a pitched swinger and second with gonnaarp a bouncy lo-fi take of a classic house aesthetic.

using the success of his album “swinger” as a door opener in america, mano meter has also grooved straight into the hearts of artists like parov stelar, simina grigoriu - paul kalkbrenner’s wife and alle farben. it was only a matter of time, to present his latest work from the studio. together with david gerlach, who’s kind of an wunderkind on the piano, he has produced a song called “polyphobia”. you’ll find a pearly, extremely fresh groove which has already influenced dancefloors from europe all the way to burning man! he finally had mercy with the ordinary music lovers and released this well kept secret to the public on vinyl and digital! it has been enhanced with remixes from der schmeisser & der tietz, das fachpersonal and nikolas noam.

keeping in line with the trademark birdsmakingmachine sound, comes the fifth release on their self-entitled label, bmm 004. with a more straight-to-the-point approach than its predecessor, the ep starts off on the dance floor, with rumbling bass lines and heavy metallic snares juggling with effects-laden delicacies on the a1s >ahora vengo<. the arrival of >ash but not arthur< on the a2 calms things down bit and takes the listener for a gentle journey through ambient pads and cleverly swinging hi hats, while on the flip, things get a little more bouncy in >oscars critical jack<, which is mostly due to the fact its main ingredient – the solid playful bass line – blends effortlessly with the higher frequency spices, keys, strings and rhythmic parts. the end credits roll down with >bonfume<, another relatively smooth yet jacking swinger that could either be used to kick it up a notch in a warm-up set or be danced to while finding yourself at an afterhour.

chicagos dj rahaan comes correct on this latest release from dublin disco heads fatty fatty phonographics. dirtyboyz takes an old bobby o production and sticks a rocket up its arse, blending in rough chi-town beats and some vocals from another music box/warehouse classic for some proper peak-time dancefloor devastation. getting up and dance is the kind of string drenched disco-boogie that he laces throughout his epic club sets, with some fiery ron hardy style edits to drive em wild. clap your hands, stomp your feet, meanwhile, rounds it off beautifully, a summery dancefloor swinger with a hellishly catchy chorus and a bouncy groove that just wont quit.

the ava. family gets bigger! splitted into 2 parts, the concept -köln- combines the most versatile house acts of cologne. damiano von erckert, murat tepeli, head of yore andy vaz, funkycan, ugly drums, martin beume and harry swinger aka superswinger of rush hour. each of them combine one thing: cologne and from now on -ava.-. here we are with another piece of good fresh house & techno productions from one of the most promising labels from germany! as always plugged in handmade cover!

returning to the kitchen after an over extended jaunt in the bathroom, the sound diggers grant us with another slap happy handful of flavor with their new piece entitled >dont flap just jack<. here at flapjack we do encourage everyone to wash their hands before returning from the bathroom to the decks. with the nasty low down n dirty grooves that are all over this ep, i am not so sure the sound diggers washed up very well, or at all. as we say in the business, when you get dirt in your salad, eh, its just a lil flava.

upon you records has finally reached the big five-o thats right - 50! regular releases old, and to celebrate we are inviting you into our musical swinger club. while our upon you artists usually work their way up to a musical orgasm on their own, this time they have doubled up for a nice old gangbang of massive proportions. gunnar stiller and marcus meinhardt are tag teaming on a1 with their little winner >feinherb< and are leaving out the foreplay and get straight down to it. then we have nico stojan and the cheapers who are finger banging the buttons and levers for >railroad< on a2. flipping the side over we find our dutch-danish buddies onno and mathias mesteno and let the puppets dance to some sweet house beats with the track >puppets<. finishing of this vinyl masterpiece are marco resmann and ruede hagelstein with >monday<, once again proving how tender they can be if necessary, blowing out the last candles with a touch of saxophone.

after their hello kool nice release (quintessentials 02), the jagged boys are back with another fab production. the main track langenthal is, well, we dare to say tech house with a disco feel and ready for club use! new york pumps it up even more and is another proof that jagged are well diverse. after quarion and harry swinger on qe 02, its now up to the mighty brothers vibe to do the remix - he delivered a monster mix! and let all of us know about his house and our house!

this third sampler contains the excellent everyday, a collaboration between terry lee brown jnr and the timewriter. gorgeous deep house with a solid techy edge and a lot of soul! the plastic avengers remix of joeseph maliks believe and see is a raw, dirty tech-funk workout, whilst house stalwarts, 95 north, weigh in with a dubby house cut from ten years ago that screams underground! finally, man of the moment, sascha dive, has his deepest america cut remixed by samuel davis, and its a trippy, raw and minimal house swinger! a great 4 tracker, with a nice mix of deep and minimal to please most tastes

2 after the successful first release, raw meat is back! this time with two holy disco goodies from the amsterdam based >st. propre<! edits of two classics from larry levan and tom moultonà..a downright holy tip! side a is an ode to the one and holy larry levan and contains a sublime cut up filtered edit of celestial choirs >stand on the word< which was edited by larry himself back in the days. a true dance floor killer that keeps on building into and irresistible groove! side b is another ode, this time to the master and inventor of the disco mix tom moulton. >love me proper< (originally by karltone) has been hustled around into an extended smooth funk swinger with a massive hypnotizing bass line. works perfectly on the floor as well as in the bedroom!

three years after his debut album basement soul kid returns in september 2008 with his darkest release to date. expect hip hop, sublime style, with guest appearances by camp lo, frank n dank, illa j, defari among others. until then, lets warm things up with this twelve! on the title track kid finds himself in his own world on a beat which was started out life as remix for the brazilian/dutch super group zuco 103. as a result - kid rhymes on the beat himself leaving you exposed to his world. the soulful pityful times appears as an (short) skit on the album while the extended cut is only available on the b side of this twelve inch. besides kid sublime this track features amsterdams finest vocal weapon, ninthe on the hook. kid sublime toured with zuco 103 and guru as a dj, and co founded the rednose distrikt collective, which he left to focus on his debut album basement soul. after that he put out records with frank n dank, les deal, wouda and did remixes for the likes of harry swinger, rob scott, recloose, j davey...
