limited repress! elegantly fused elements from classic detroit and historical berlin techno. alexanders affection for sophisticated bass lines, deep beats and challenging arrangements breathes new life into techno. he knows perfectly how to program his tracks to sound straight, deep, housy, dubby or funky - and this versatility is one of the reasons for his reputation with both ravers and underground-oriented techno nerds.mastering and cut by dubplates and mastering. artwork by markus suckut and cover picture by archer hostettler. manufactured by matter of fact.
.defaultbox is celebrating its catalogue no. 010 with a various artists ep full of love and dark energy. the label founder patrick brosin himself opens up with -1999-, a raw and reckless tribute to all those late nineties fashion sinners, while robert s (pt) takes it back to the future with his brain melting, bulletproof remix. next up is label co-owner barrel with -lirpa-, a rollercoaster ride inside an acid fish tank, spiced up by kegen hall with a little -pepper- to wake up lazy ravers. including label sticker and download code.
a true lowlands collaboration on the clone jack for daze series. betonkust and innershades team up for the benelux connection ep. harking back to the days of when new beat and early chicago house ruled the dutch and belgian dance floors and ravers cruised the benelux in search of that perfect beat.

originally released on white house records. remastered from digital masters by robert macciochi with full restored cover done by myself. this ep should need no introduction to ravers as often cited as an anthem (whatever that means to you, to me that just means classic and good and still worth hearing any day again and again).

the first one was already a success... and its successor promises just to be the same: new hot stuff from the city of dusseldorf. once again, versatility is key, with two dreamy yet energetic ravers by dj normal 4 + 4boom & aki aki and one downtempo chugger by kaschiel. get familiar!
inspired by the wild world of competitive pen spinning, vancouver producer big zen unleashes his breakout ep key3, the second release on planet euphorique. named after a prolific spinner who introduced a rare move the tipped sonic , the record brings 360degree four-to-the-floor revolutionary realness. with shimmering, elated melodic highs sending you into a lucid trance, the chunky bumping basslines demand your feet back to the dance floor. four big tracks for the ravers and pen spinners alike, key3 is the gateway to cloud 9.
its been a hot minute since timothy j. fairplay slipped on his junior fairplay guise, but hes done just that for this bleep-tastic new 12inch on (emotional) especial. end of love is unabashed in its embrace of early yorkshire techno tones, making a fine job of resurrecting the bleep spectre and letting it shake up the dance once more. roy of the ravers is a smart choice of remixer, and he brings an off-kilter acid rub to the table in his idiosyncratic, braindance-inflected style. the b-side is equal laden with purposefully dusty dance grooves transplanted from the late 80s / early 90s, with faxes from the future hitting a particularly sharp point in its lazy breakbeat roll and the clanging harmonies of the stabs
having turned quite a few heads with the first instalment “a very nice combinado volume uno” (yayhf 01), hippie dance sister label you and your hippie friends plows forward ever, backwards never on the latest 12” selection a very nice combinado volume dos, with exclusive tracks from kasper bjØrke, paulor, fantastic twins, zombies in miami and roman flÜgel remixed by pachanga boys.
digital releases his second lp within 2 years called -total control-.
,,,,its not a massive collab fest like his 2016 lp ‘synthesis’ although, there’s a few on there with artists nomine, john b, villem and digital’s phantom audio partner, spirit. a strong jungle vibe runs right through this lp. the opening track, ‘motherland’ has crisp breaks, a bassline to die for and a haunting unforgettable vocal. other highlights are seba’s lush remix of digital & response’s, ‘silver lining’. ‘on the rockz’ sounds like a solid piece of 1998 drum and bass, ‘total control’ is superb and certainly one for the hardcore ravers, ‘dreamer’ takes you on a journey you’ve never been before. this is the first of 4 records, pressed on red vinyl.

to shorten a night-time tale into it s evidence: fuck reality is finally here. the piano mix- still to be heard on undefinably diverse dancefloor around the globe and without a doubt our, the, true westbam classic, needed to be digged again by the kids and ravers- the time is now. along the hard-to-beat original, it s smallpeople, the true lovers, and the never-beaten gerd janson in control of both a new version and a version of the version. go dance!
mick harris arrives on lies via his fret moniker. a man who needs no introduction via his exploits in napalm death and scorn among a slew of other projects, harris returns after his lp last year, bringing fret back to life once again. four tracks of absolutely crushing broken techno, dense blasting and unstoppable chaos that lays waste to all in sight. trancers and candy ravers step aside. an unmissable record from a true originator.
after the last release, that was more house-oriented, we can say – in a nutshell – that the upcoming ://ab004 is about: techno! with their piece ab1, nx1 take a powerful, break-fueled percussive line, keeping an eye on the big floor with their huge reverb rooms, while stephanie sykes, who grew so close to our hearts, presents a real peak time-slammer with her track blur, that definitely references to her brimming, energetic dj sets. jay quentin, also a friend of the club for many years, nourishes a lotz of warmth and depth in his track information superhigh, which remains still pushing enough for the dancefloor – perfect for a special b side. rave on, ravers!
chevel gives the prism-pushers at mumdance & logos’ different circles their first album release with always yours, a slanted new take on the ‘weightless’ paradigm, floating somewhere between headspaces associated with the styles of lee gamble, actress and logos. paradoxically the longest and yet most minimalistic release on different circles to date, always yours says its piece in succinct yet expansive terms, rendering precisely tooled rhythms and technoid motifs in acres of suspenseful emulated space in a way that connects the brutally efficient dynamic of late ‘90s tech-step with a raster noton-like appreciation of pointillist reduction.in that imagined space chevel moves like a soviet gymnast or prototype robot fluidly executing a demanding routine full of intricate, rigid steps. from the ambient airlock of one evening in july he pulls off the aerobic mid-air rolige of the call, which comes off like a syncopated sleeparchive workout, before twysting into the knotted quasi-step of bulletand stepping into hyperspace on arp 2600. another ambient interlude warming bath returns the lp to balmier states, before the jagged pulse of data recovery pulls back into the dance like a virulent alva noto piece, and dem drums pitch to the rave’s darker side, but ultimately the lushly self-explanatory underwater and always yours keep the lp hovering around the edge of ecstasy and the abyss with a grasp of heady, day-after feelings known to ravers the world over.•the first artist release on logos and mumdance’s different circles•floating in ‘weightless’ space between lee gamble, logos, actress and alva noto•vinyl master + cut by matt colton at alchemy.•cover photo by yusuke yamatani. design + layout by our place
tardis records are delighted to welcome uk tech-house hero flow to the tardis records stable for their eighth release. the three tracks making up the trine ep were recorded together with simon moorecroft (a.k.a. simon vinyl junkie) around the time of his first vinyl releases back in 1996-1997. all three tracks sound completely contemporary whilst having more than enough old school flavour to give flashbacks to any 90s ravers. lead track boy girl action has skipping, garage-influenced beats with rolling bass and swirling atmospherics, whilst a breakbeat, vocals and a stabby intro give trine on the flip a more ravey feel. closing out the ep, i see you is the dubbiest cut here, with another heavy bassline, cut-up vocals, and subtly swung percussion. eli and oscar have loved testing these tracks out on the road and can vouch for their impact on a peak-time dancefloor!
odd recordings launch their new vinyl series oddwax. within a relative short period the label has managed to gain the attention of dj s and ravers alike - with tracks like pachamama that was championed by carl cox for months, radiate that was played numerous times at bpm festival & awakenings, nagelbett thats been hammered by adam beyer for the last year & oddball (sasha carassi remix) thats caused a riot in ibiza this season with multiple plays from sasha & digweed - all four hits shot up the charts, hammered all over the globe and now for the first time available on vinyl. label heads arjun vagale & ramiro lopez have carefully curated the first in the series
following 12inches from ricardo tobar and manasyt, the third release on tel avivs musar welcomes rising uk star and super hexagon label boss, j.wiltshire. the laghan pux ep finds wiltshire sharing his psychedelic electronic side and brings his versatile skills together, serving up four completely different soundtracks. the gleaming sci-fi gem desklep opens the ep as a pure melodic idm track loaded with cornwall style while the bass-heavy title track laghan pux is pumping as a dark & sharp peak-time trippy beast. on the b side, the mysterious roy of the ravers, gives you an interpretation of what proper acid sounds like, whereas chained releases takes you on a deep and hypnotic adventure into space, full of warm guitar melodies and trancey synths. summon them closes the ep, an ambient magic piece for a hazy, orange morning where the birds just woke up and the trees singing for the first time to break the day. early support from: josh wink, danny daze, cinnaman, marcel dettmann, ame, i:cube, the hacker and more
betonkust immediately blended in with the 9300 family and it felt like we ve been knowing each other for years and years. after his characteristic remix on innershades latest ep (aal006), it was only a matter of time before he would deliver his own release on our label. with varied percussions, hard kicks and dark synths, the 0% swing ep brings you back to a time when belgian highways were still lavisly flanked by discotheques and afterhours clubs. an era that counts as one of the most beatiful pages in belgian dance history and of which betonkust probably has more knowledge than most of our fellow-countrymen. all four tracks on this proper release produce a thrilling energy that will bring those sleepy ravers, from the 90 s, back to life.

BLD RMXS A (RED AXES, SAINTE VIE. OCEANS ORIENTALIS REMIX)
12 Inch 20.11.17
acid paulis second album ‘bld dropped earlier this year to a rapturous reception. martin gretschmanns trippy opus took in various stops around the musical spectrum, yet remained committed to quality dance-floor tracks that refuse to follow any particular rule book. this collection of remixes of the albums a side (hence the name) only adds to that achievement - bringing yet more new flavours and takes from some of the most exciting names in the underground. ‘abbebe gets a rework from sainte vie who brings his trademark ‘multicultural electro sound to the albums opener, and produces an ecstatic mid-paced groover for the heads. oceanvs orientalis drops a similarly exciting rerub, finding new angles and dimensions to the track ‘baris. tel avivs red axes turn up the psychedelica for the duos amazing dissection of ‘ayam - deep sounds immersed in acidic tones and tight-yet-wonky arrangements. lastly ‘majid gets the treatment from label co-head nico stojan who produces a sleek and spacy remix that will delight the early morning ravers.
poker flat label boss and genuine dance music legend steve bug teams up with langenberg for this excellent two track ep. langenberg has released an unfathomable number of dancefloor fillers under various monikers on labels such as drumpoet community, mule, ovum or styrax leaves and recently released his debut album central heated house on dessous. langenberg is also one half of the project ribn. chord cluster has summer anthem written all over deep yet euphoric, spacy yet danceable, and ultimately a deeply emotive piece of house music that will bring smiles to faces all year. the rhythm track is tight yet remains loose and funky, while the pads and synths dip into just the right amount of acid to keep the ravers lost in the moment. the teaze treads similar ground arpeggiated pulses lead the arrangement, while a chicago influenced groove brings a shuffle to proceedings the joy in the track is evident it s clear the guys were having a lot of fun in the studio.
transitional state join the pacific command roster with a bumper five-track ep of lucid, woozy techno that segues between blown-out 909 romps and deep, percussive 808 workouts. one for the m25 field ravers back in ’93.
