spain s javi bora has been steadily carving out a name for himself over the past few years holding up a residency at the infamous, now late space ibiza and its kehakuma parties, as well as racking up releases for elrow music, suara, robsoul, 2020 vision and moda black. here though we see him paired with fellow spaniard for a new ep set to be released via london s fledgling spilt milk recordings which has played host to material from the likes of italoboyz, alexi delano and of course its founders tred benedict and st. bernard. title-track bounze takes the lead on the record, laying the foundations with snaking synth sequences, voice atmospherics and robust rhythms before hector moralez and katal step in on the remix. the pair reshape bounze with their own stripped-back distinctive style, opting for floating pads, heavily swung percussion and snippets from the originals spoken parts. ritual rights follows and lays focus on arpeggio 303 tinged bass hits, crunchy drums and subtly unfolding synth leads that ebb and flow throughout the record. the 002 then rounds out the package with dubby stab sequences, soaring pad swells and gritty, energetic rhythms

shadow child returns with his connected collaborations album. album sampler 2 of 2 features his official rework of the future sound of london’s seminal ‘papua new guinea’, ‘err’ offering it s bouncing bassline and skippy 909 hats with huxley and finally ‘gacid’, which is possibly the friendliest acid tune you’ll hear with the elusive supertanker.

ltd 20216 repress ! italian producers steve murphy and dj octopus are regular collaborators, and earlier this year released an excellent split ep on chiwax. here, they return to the much adored german imprint with a proper collaborative four-tracker. theres much to admire, from the rush-inducing bounce of opener track 1 and mr lee-ish cheekiness of track 2 (check the 89 style riff, snappy drum machine groove and cut-up vocal samples), to the impeccable depth and sun-drenched warmth of the decidedly wide-eyed track 3. arguably best of all, though, is track 4, which reimagines sir james 1990 strictly rhythm classic special as an immersive chicago deep house jam.

after successful two releases hoxton records is back with yet another va compilation featuring equally talented three producers from romania. zefzeed has been behind the decks for over 10 years and producing since 2009. in 2013 he was signed with bodyparts records and started working with vinyl only record labels. cosmjn & lizz duo work speaks for itself as it has already amassed the support from petre inspirescu, barac, new zau and sepp. these guys are extremely talented and produce the tracks with inspiring harmonies. bucharest based producer direkt is a hidden gem. being the youngest producer on hoxton records label, he is definitely the one to watch. this vinyl only release is showcasing the artist that are creating the music worth collecting.

london modular alliance is the raw and unpredictable music project from the uk’s best known, dedicated modular synth shop london modular. its members simon lynch, phil ventre and gavin pykerman met through a shared passion in modular synthesisers. impromptu gatherings and jams soon turned into live performances at clubs, festivals and museums. from the hushed environs of the tate modern and v&a to vast sweatboxs such as fabric, bloc, freerotation, weather and berghain, london modular clearly have a flair for all things modular. this year sees a return to bloc weekender as well as new adventures at festivals such as dekmantel. they create an intense live show with a huge setup of self-assembled modular gear. every set starts with one small looping beginning – a patch – and is expanded into a deep sonic landscape. with the use of cables they build unexpected circuits and explore the power of pure electronic sounds without the use of a digital software infrastructure. no laptops, no button pushing, everything is created on the spot using modular synthesizers and is based on live improvisations. overall lma tries to keep its live sets in the dark: unrecorded, off the internet and only for those who are present in the moment. a clear break with the capture-all mentality of the internet age.

italian native, christian lisco is well known for having an extremely envious collection of vintage synthesisers and drum machines housed in his basement. it was there that four ridiculously special acid cuts that we are prone to immediately fall in love with on first reception. -your joy” which sees the collaborative efforts of singer, michael clifford, evokes the feeling of the early age of american house music. the next set of tracks were treated with a surrounding of acid basslines and heavy drums. mixed live and directly recorded to tape.

composer kate simko, along with her all-female london-based string ensemble london electronic orchestra, release their highly anticipated album. kate simko has composed tracks that subtly blend her training as a classical pianist with her passion for electronic music. the result is an inimitable mix of sonorous strings and instruments melting with synthesizers and loose grooved beats, taking classical music to an innovative level. musical worlds collide, with a rework of schubert, egyptian and eastern melodies, rainforest samples, philip glass-inspired minimalism and classic 808 electronic drums. the album includes reworks of the xx and parra for cuva, as well as collaborations with prominent uk house dj jamie jones and pop singer katy b.

tuppence is a new seven inch single label, the latest venture from esteemed disc jockey and epicurean craig richards (fabric / the nothing special). the debut release is courtesy of electro techno genius radioactive man (keith tenniswood). please note these are limited 7inch only releases. watch out for other forthcoming releases on tuppence from convextion and deadbeat.

project london’s raw series returns with talented newcomers pandilla ltd. this time we also invited well known fellow londoner henry hyde (undersound) & patrick klein from frankfurt based traffic collective to give us their take on street manifest.

south london analogue material is back with the long awaited release from keepsakes. whadyyatalkinbout is a ruthless opener, its aggressive, distorted techno with all the keepsakes trademarks. the remix by bas mooy is a dance floor tool and has been doing the damage over the last few months. on the flip gorbs house is rough down tempo stomper with a naughty acid section and forward strategy group finish off with the b side remix giving the ep nice balance.

brotherhood sagats and ludovic, together with steve murphy & dj octopus, are another duo coming from the venetian school of the now berlin based analogue cops. their sound reflects the typical approach where drum machines, synthesizers and samplers are recorded directly on tape without being digitalised. handmoon ep encloses five fine raw cuts, four pressed onto vinyl and a bonus track which is available though hardmoon london bandcamp only.

next up from fuse london is the latest ep from resident rich nxt. hot on the heels of launching his own nxt records, this scorching four track platter represents his strongest and most dancefloor friendly ep to date. donkey, quixotic and longtime showcase an intricate yet effective sound, laced with powerful bass, sharp percussion, subtle synths, analogue dirt and bags of groove. all of the tracks have gained widespread support and captured ears around the globe whilst the dark, lurching flux one provides something a bit different.

tilted marks the debut material to drop from kate simko & london electronic orchestras eponymous studio album, due for release on the vinyl factory this may. featuring two original compositions and an epic remix from seth troxler, the tilted ep provides an exciting preview of simkos innovative project which showcases a symbiotic blend of orchestral soundscapes and electronic music.

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

rushmore is a 1998 soundtrack to the wes anderson film of the same name. the songs mostly blend raw, adolescent urges and insecurity with an awkward grace, composed primarily of popular music from the 1960s. continuing with its soundtrack initiative, ume will be reissuing this classic soundtrack back on vinyl for the first time in years.
the 1998 wes anderson film, rushmore, starred bill murray, jason schwartzman, olivia williams, seymour cassel, and luke wilson. the soundtrack was scored by mark mothersbaugh and also features music by the kinks, cat stevens, the who, john lennon, zoot sims, faces, and more.

label head enzo siragusa returns to fuse for his first full ep since 2012 with the sanctuary ep kicking off with double dove, a hyper-kinetic slab of phunked up tech weaponry. the cavernous bass makes for a real warehouse vibe whilst silken pads lap upon the senses for an audio overload. the flipside s solo takes things into deeper realms, a tripped out vocal effect being the track focal point, custom made for early hours sessions whilst the eps vinyl only track gemini does away with any headier pretences and delves straight into the heart of things with a thumping kick and sense of purpose.
