eris harmonia is the new ep from acclaimed dublin-via-berlin duo lakker. it is an investigation of disparate styles and sounds reflecting different reactions and emotional responses to the current world climate of chaos and uncertainty. after finishing struggle & emerge lakker retreated to the studio to find fresh inspiration. in their words: we talked of needing a black space or empty white page in which to experiment with sound, genre and structure freely, without expectation and without time constraints or release deadlines.

the 3 originals explore some warm synthesizer soundscapes on this one. patrick krieger shows his affinity to intense atmospheric pads and notes while s-tek and ad.lib deliver some weird bell-like hooklines.

it is with undoubted excitement that stroboscopic artefacts can present the new release from irish duo lakker as sa019. this comes hot on the heels of lakkers recent work for the label through the dark trappings of monad xiv.

the next vinyl-only release on candela rising is a 3 track ep from irish duo dara smith & ian mcdonnell, a.k.a lakker. all topped off with a remix of the title track by us born and birmingham based dj skirt. after a string of extremely successful releases on blueprint, killekill and an early 2013 release in the shape of a remix for stroboscopic artefacts, lakker are back and showing more range than ever before. coal bath is a real frankensteins monster of a track, a techno/garage hybrid with haunting vocals hiding through the middle and broken beats that hit hard. skirts remix takes coal bath and lays down some heavy demented bass, chops up the middle and grooves things up. all of which leaves a remix ready for the bunker or warehouse. on the flip, rsspstp is a heavy hitter. distorted bangs set the pace for this one, which evolves into a prime example of the attention to detail lakker are so famed for. machine music at its best. the final track on the ep, brood, is dark and dense, full of cold atmosphere, sub-low beats and distant, distorted drones. techno for the darkest floors ...

with this fizzmint 12 inch vinyl-only release under his borealis pseudonym, jesse somfay (traum, archipel, ...) releases something completely different, yet so complementary, compared to his 2012 debut release on origami. on this track, with a total duration of 13 minutes, borealis pushes the envelope in his experiments of deeper techno infused with darker multi-layered ambient reaching the sweet spot to the perfect soundtrack of a pumping and flowing heart-themed release on dandelion lotus sub-series anatomy. on the flip side of this first anatomy series release is a remix by lakker (hailed & played by blawan, aphex twin, autechre,...). limited vinyl-only edition, with artwork by alex konahin. we dont really need to say more, dont we?

preternity is a vinyl that collects together four of the most dynamic artists in electronic music delving into tracks from dadubs forthcoming album ‘you are eternity. dadubs album positions itself as part of an eternity which is forever recurring and in this context lucy, lakker, rrose and kangding rays remixes emerge as parallel versions of the original tracks. revolving around the axis of ‘you are eternity the artists use analogue machines and digital devices to either encode or decode dadubs vision.

with influences ranging from breakcore and jungle to techno and electronica, their sound is just as far-reaching with organic sample-based productions and synthetic, processed electronic beats. lakkers torann ep, their second release for blueprint, kick-starts with the dappling beats of summer rains, before moving onto the more experimental mustard crying. ciar takes us back to the dancefloor with ominous undertones, while static & amp is a simple but effective exercise. finally the diminutive but meticulous one note caps the ep off in fine lakker style.

irish live act / release duo lakker join the blueprint label with their first release. slick shake inspired techno and electronic tracks. irish lads ian mc donnell and dara smith have been recording for some time as lakker with a number of releases for the likes lazybird, alphabet set, acroplane and most notably killekill. here we proudly present their first blueprint record in the form of the arc e.p. a superb mix of bass driven techno and electronica across the four tracks here but the office fave has to be a2s super-shuffling piano track -ed- which reminds very much of mid-period anthony shake shakir material from days long gone.

spider silk on the a side is a funky stepper of extreme darkness. its epic feel shall make it a hit on all techno, idm and dubstep dancefloors. 8 blip is a short straight tech stumbler with a kick drum as deep it will only be audible on proper soundsys- tems – which is where we want to hear those tracks anyway. litiv is a piece of rare beauty – simply amazing. lakker are a fascinating duo from dublin who have released on several labels and recently got dj support from none other than aphex twin.

more than less, started from seoul, south korea, came back with 4th vinyl release “folka ep”, composed by joton, owner of newrhythmic records, based in north spain, leon. he is also part of more than less records, releasing “fragment ep” with soolee remixes in 2014. it had great success and been supported by many producers like surgeon, pacou, dvs1, invite, lakker, paul mac, samuli kemppi, unam zetineb, jeroen search and many more. “folka ep” has two new tracks, called “frontier” and “sendice”. these two tracks are remixed by japanese techno hero, dj nobu, and korean techno pioneer, soolee, again. the “folka ep” represents the conjunction of asianeuropean techno, which more than less has been pursuing. “frontier” has pure anlalog synth sounds with addicted melody line, based on rough sound textures. it’s obviously for the peak time of the dance floor. “sendice” has unique grooves which joton’s trademark and adding rhythmic loops gives numerous dance feelings. “frontier”, dj nobu remixed, gives hypnotic raw sounds and exotic feelings. it has subtle rhythmic factor and people can’t help moving their body. another remixer is, more than less records owner, soolee. it is 9 minute track, consisting with full of hypnotic sounds from the first to the end.

osiris music uk number thirty nine sees label owner simon shreeve finally come to the fore with the first full solo release under his mønic alias after a pair of successful outings on the open water and habits eps earlier this year. from the breathless opening charge of bloodhound to the tense recesses of the title track which closes the ep, human pattern sees mønic confidently steer both his personal sound and the overall aesthetic of the osiris label deeper into the realm of experimental electronic music. human pattern comes housed in high quality 300 gram outer and inner sleeves, fully printed and adorned with artwork making this a special piece even by osiris usual standards. early support: surgeon, regis, clouds, laurent garnier, amit, paul mac & lakker...

russian producer sanys has impressed with a series of raw techno records on his downfall theory label - and his latest release further showcases his talents. dominance starts with atmospheric synth washes before a granular bass and relentless percussion propel it forward. like previous sanys releases however, this is not straightforward linear techno and a rumbling vocal and insistent drums will keep the listener engaged. my concern sees sanys opt for a different approach, with a pulsing bass and a crystalline synth line going up and down the scales, intertwined with a vocal snippet, while told you so features another stylistic shift. on this occasion, it s back to the darker sound that was audible on some of the earlier downfall theory releases. tight, snappy drums and robust, insistent claps provide the basis for a droning, murky bassline that cuts through the arrangement like a lighthouse rays in the dark of night. finally, irish producer eomac, one half of lakker, delivers a version of dominance that centres on lithe broken beats, ghostly melodies and insidious tonal shifts. as its title suggests, dominance shows sanys has become a master of the techno form.
