12 Inch
19.04.07
brand new - second on surprise - twelver from this international deejay / electrotech producer under his onderklank guise. the title track has the spirit of carl craig and motor city detroit written all over it. the first track on the flip reminds us of tracks by thomas schumacher mingled with old school flavours of newbeat and early trance. the twelve inch closes with a spicy dancefloor cut (the other tracks are also for that clubfloor as a matter of course) with a melody that could be produced by gregor tresher while on the other hand, the beats have a bit of radio slave ingredients.

the irish is the only artist from cork who can claim to be part of the infamous stockholm electronic music scene known as the swedish invasion. long before making up one half of the successful techno house outfit dk7 - founded with partner jesper dahlbäck in 2003 -, mark, also known as the mighty quark or as mark and john when he produces with jespers cousin john dahlbäck, who moved to sweden in 1994, started to make music with various swedish artists perfecting his skills as an acoustically versed soundscape sculptor. with the prayer ep, marks first release on plastic city, o sullivan is returning to his dubby roots that made up an intrinsic part of him as a producer in the past as well - something that already shone through on his first two longplayers released on his own imprint king syndrome sounds. o sullivan, who is known for his world famous remixes and collaborations for and with leftfield, olaf hund, susuma yokota and digi dub
big with john dahlbäck, zoo brazil, thomas schumacher, umek, john acquaviva the spanish-based production kings (cocoon, submission, sadie) and label-owners (sonic society) pig & dan, return to pickadoll with some truly balearic & beautiful techno tunes. the track 88 (make no mistake – this is true dance music!) is a hypnotic journey based upon slightly modulating old-school chords. the combination of rather well known >back in the day< aesthetics and the modern minimal feel make this a truly professional masterpiece. the b-side starts with a dark tekkno monster called >blobz<: arpeggios, stripped-down drumming, reverbs go to make up an unbelievably raw ecstasy music which then develops into a neo trance extravaganza with some highly impressive breakdowns! the last cut >robots< consists of video game sounds, sexy beats and some almost psychedelic guitar-like licks… after-hours madness guaranteed!

his name is rené breitbarth, he s from cologne/germany, living now in berlin, he s quite well known already, of course, and he s been into making music for quite a while now. he also co-founded other labels, but we from neopren are tolerant and like him all the same… we all have to collaborate, other labels are friends and not enemies, and the neopren-records are easy to recognize anyway, thanks to the wonderful artwork! this 007 >graveyard swing< .release consists of two fantastic, pumping minimal tracks. the bassdrums go as deep under your skin as the most expensive bodylotion, the entire bouquet of the tracks is nicely balanced, and an entire basket full of rippling pearly ingredients will make many of you ask yourselves the >wuttisdatsound<- question…

in the recent days the label spielzeug goes from strength to strength with releases coming from label boss thomas schumacher although they are receiving tons of demos every day…this fact shows how picky they are when it comes to releases! now an old friend of the label and long time techno activist returns to the bill: axel bartsch. as team with asem shama he produced most successful a few releases on spiel-zeug and at the same time he released 12inches on kompakt extra or sportclub.. and this is just a small excerpt of his vitae.. on spielzeug 40 his presents his renovated and fresh definition of techno with epic melodies, super functional drums and top notch bass inferno... not to be missed!

without a doubt, mechanical is one of ambs funkiest works to date. with its deep acid bassline and its catchy guitar riffs, mechanical typifies the money shot sound. add some of ambs signature mind blowing edits and complex structure, you have one hell of a tune on your hands. groove diggerz take the track in a slightly different direction going for more of an epic electro/tech breaks tune. as is to be expected from one of the hardest working duos in breakbeat, the tune rocks.

return of one of the most prominent characters in house music elbee bad has been around for ever and with a discography that reaches from nu groove to gigolo has had his fair share in the developement of house music. now he stands in the limelight again with a versatile four tracker that gets already thumps up and plays by sven vaeth. victorious is offered in two mixes and if you like some beauty within your house the video mix is for you beautiful layers of strings, classic piano. a crowd favourite the epic build ups and drop ins over a stomping beat. the blazin brooklyn mix hits you from a tribal point of view it holds on to the beauty of orchestrated music with all the string backings in the mix but strikes with a harder, more percussive beat. the tribe vibe on the flip has elbee yelling on the mic asking over & over again do ya ll want this party started” accompanied by a stripped down, devasting beat the answer can only be yes. bonus track is conny, elbees tribute to fingers inc. the classic donnie sung by robert owens is reshaped from a mr. bad point of view and layed straight up over a famous dj falcon instrumental rough and rugged, just real house music
