in the recent days the label spielzeug goes from strength to strength with releases coming from label boss thomas schumacher although they are receiving tons of demos every day…this fact shows how picky they are when it comes to releases! now an old friend of the label and long time techno activist returns to the bill: axel bartsch. as team with asem shama he produced most successful a few releases on spiel-zeug and at the same time he released 12inches on kompakt extra or sportclub.. and this is just a small excerpt of his vitae.. on spielzeug 40 his presents his renovated and fresh definition of techno with epic melodies, super functional drums and top notch bass inferno... not to be missed!
played by sébastien léger, tiga, hell. roman flügel, ata, ivan smagghe!! on this new stephan bodzin two tracker called >daytona beach<, playful sequences take turns with rave-ish bassmonsters and moddy synth action !!
next shot from stephan bodzin with two massive and epic tracks. >pendulum< features a simple and yet sophisticated melody that winds itself into your brain like a rusty screw, modulation madness in combination with cool and laidback drums and analogue bass. >silhouette< is a anthem like tune that features steaphans trademark basslines, drums, effects and noises
sleepy hollow was obviously inspired by the movie of the same name. it is one of my favourite pictures by tim burton and i really like the dark, creepy atmosphere of it. the bass-line recreates this mood to an extent that it scares me, makes me shiver. i mean, really! regenerate has such a strong techhouse vibe to it, again reminiscent of the early 90s and a very strong groove. excellent percussion programming and modulation by stephan. this one builds and builds until it completely gets you. personally i think all due respect is the most laidback, reduced track on the album. we came up with this distinctive, monotone melody/bass and i loved the feeling right away. definetely the kind of music that i like to play on a sunday after hour session
the long awaited thomas schumacher album will be released in a series of three 12s, with a cd version feat extra tracks !! and this album is the latest redefinition of the thomas schumacher sound. starting with one of the defining songs on home, mad robot. than comes exhale, this one is more on the peaktime side of things, and the third is the bassheavy tune hiroo, one of the first tracks t.s. recorded for home
already played by dj t, timo maas, pascal feos, hell, laurent garnier ... the titel tracks is a dark and dirty elektro tune, feat the thomas range of modulated vintage bass sounds and more white noise than you can handle. b-side is a track that simply knocks you over with sound of the early90s techhouse
on the bring it back ep mr. schumacher explores the fiercer grounds of what could be called 2005 tekkno house. those pizzicato synthies, bad bad bass bleeps and killing drum patterns will heat up every club in a minute due to thomass ill ability to create stunning and exiting arrangements like nobody else ! for sure this is the crazy new schumacher style!! big with: dj hell, m.a.n.d.y., dj t., takkyu ishino, dr. shingo, tiga & laurent garnier
