adding yet another montreal artist to the lazy days roster. this time, we welcome bowly aka ojpb. a respected name in the montreal dj scene, hes also known for his releases on parage music and more recently on tensnake s great true romance label.

the ep is a limited edition of 100 black vinyl copies which were made to accompany the special 10 and vinyly records made on clear vinyl containing kits ashes produced by his family for his family and very close friends in rucking memory of kit

all tracks are previously unreleased except for buzzy bee which appears on this is ruckno beetroot records and was included on this vinyl as one of the tracks chosen by his family.

its cat number is fix 77 in respect to the year of his birth.

some of these edits came before on a now hard to get 12inch... remastered and cut now with some dope additions. please send your full order prediction and we ll supply in 2 weeks. we doubt this one is coming back so pls keep that in mind

the cocoon recordings very own inhouse compilation series dots and pearls is back once again and takes us on a tour to the expected sounds of the upcoming spring season. frankfurt based christian burkhardt starts the selection of four exclusive and previously unreleased tracks. his -karambolage- breathes spring air and creates an early summer feeling par excellence. this tune will even turn gray and rainy april weather into bright sunlight. on spot with playful and positive harmonies and a very subtle 80 s synthie-pop flavour. this one here definitely makes us want more! next in line is argy, one of our most long standing cocoon recordings artists. his -how late it was, how late- has an undeniable 80s retro charm, too however it follows a completely different direction than burkhardts -karambolage-. this one refers strongly to an early 80s acid sound and reminds us of great productions such as -on and on- by jesse saunders. we cannot tell how far argy s reminiscences goes back but for the ones who know: -how late it was, how late- will bring you back to the great times of labels like rams horn and their rational youth s -dancing on the berlin- wall. brave and surprising at the same time and above all: -übercool-! with -baroon- by markus fix follows another acid track - however, this one has a far more epic flavour full of warm analogue strings and based on a hypnotic arrangement. fix -baroon- is defintely less retro than argys and burkhardts contributions - a deep tech house gem made for the first sunrises of the upcoming allnighter open airs. with -euphrasia- jim jules accelerates slightly but goes also deeper at the same time. his production follows the cinematic mood of markus fix but paints a darker picture. this one takes us on an intensive musical journey. deep, slightly gloomy and extremely hypnotic, -euphrasia- is almost captivating and bewitching and a perfect conclusion for this highly diversified fourtracker.

it s not all minimal techno in romania, as the p-balans crew ably demonstrate on this second release from local hero the holy fix. the synths come down thick and gloopy on -the void- before -slagwise- ramps up the horror tones with a perfect distillation of what makes a soundtrack pop off. this is nightmarish disco music in the vein of maiovvi and the like, and it s delivered impeccably. there is a greater focus on club tones amongst the atmospheric fx on tracks & traps though, with -quite vicious- in particular conjuring up a thrilling, madcap romp through buffed up disco techno.

nice price deal !!! fix aka orlando voorn is back with a good dose of techno & funk.... this is a detroit style extraordinaire. intro is a short skit preparing you for whats about to hit your speakers. dr technofunkenstein is made in respect of the p funk era and is symbolizing the true essence of the funk in a 2011 jacket. you can find the vocal as well as the instrumental version on the a-side. on the flipside there is the title >juice< a technofunk outfit with solid beats and p-funk influences. the outro proves once more there is nothing that fix is doing is un funky. straight up no nonsense jams on this ep. a must for the real technofunkateers!
