following up their initial warning debut with a split single in 2020, we are pleased to welcome back the fierce combination of sansibar and reptant on warning. for our annual 7- release we invited them to remix each others track in celebration of the friendship that connects us. on the remix of lizard of oz we got sansibar adding a catchy vocal sample and shifting the psychedelic electro vibe into some more clubby realms. reptant on the other side treating the subtile original of my boom with his signature deep and pervasive production style. the result of those young geniuses coming together again is a thrilling spectacle for any lover of contemporary electro sound.

underground trip vol. 1 is the first vinyl realease by artist carmine cioppa aka sleepover for klebmusic label. on side a it features two nice versions of beatz and pieces. the first one is a very clubby banger that contains classic house vocal samples on a great bassy modern beat. loud! a2 is a hypnotic drumbeat flavored with an old school punchy piano that finds its way into a drop, to chill for a second, and then make everybody jump up and scream when the drums build up to start booming again, for younger crowds. so far, real dancefloor, and we could think it is already enough for this 12inch to be bought right away. but its when we listen to the flip side that we find the real nice surprise: deep in the underground is a wondefully laid track that really reminds us of the 90s club sound of epic labels like bassline and big big trax. on this beautiful classy tune, organ, background samples, bass and rhythm section melt into a very special old fashioned atmosphere that takes us back in time, and the piano solo by sep sarno gives it a great passionate touch. jazzy, groovy, sturdy classic deep house with a very modern finish that will always be a gem. timeless.

the production and dj sets from metabomen aka krause duo is constructed for the most part as a free-spirited bunch with a special twist. it doesnt matter whether the material is with a jazz catalog, a frizzy sound, a dragging house or a techno press. an inimitable signature is not only clearly identified, no, but for the listeners of krause duo the good ol 10-second preview doesnt need three guesses. the answer from every contestant in the studio booth comes as if shot out from a cannon, so distinct is that krause formulation. from depth and nevertheless a clubby art with stay-fresh ideas. here, reliable doesnt mean stagnant. for the (up to now) 34th release from musikkrause, ian simmonds is comfortably on hand for both sides of the vinyl disc in the studio. out comes two monumentally deep waltzes full of raunchy charm and a knee-deep appreciation for jazz. the impact of both tracks is so spiritual that to speak of dance music is not the issue at hand, but rather something of a ghostly slam to the body. if you listen closely enough you can hear the diligent work of your own being. by means of the poetically-painted tones of simmonds and the clutter, which despite the many tonal designs and devices in this >authoritive-techno<, it has no fore-bearer. you can also tell the form of the work undertaken by the joint venture krause/simmonds isnt complete by a long shot even though in this manifestation there is nothing left to add. the distribution of dynamics appears to be so well-coordinated that there is simply the thrill of savoring such thoughtful club music

the fourth hotflush release of 2017 comes from minneapolis-based dj and producer, tml. he made his debut in 2014 with one inch of water, an album in cassette form via always human tapes. his style takes cues from the bass and jungle halcyon days of yore, yet in his hands these influences are pestled into anything but nostalgia. no memory looks forward to a place where pigeonholes don’t exist, where past, present and future boil an amalgamated stew, where ‘experimental’ and ‘clubby’ aren’t effective antonyms. it’s an album in miniature - six tracks spanning a broad range. the unmistakable taste of jungle pervades side a, becoming increasingly less abstract as it goes: from the fractured opening of ‘face pads’, through the dub of ‘cold sleep’, to the sunrise head bang that is ‘crying’. side two moves inside. it’s darker there. the tunes - ’strainer’, ‘rhu’ and ‘code library’ - share a paredbackness. their beats look askance as they shuffle big and bold.
