introducing ideaz, two skilled beat-makers discovered by cold busted, hailing from within the funky heart of russia. marat and nicolay make their ideaz debut with motion capture, a fantastic 15-track album that showcases the laid-back, blunted flavor of the duos rhythmic constructions. jazzy samples, vinyl pops, and crafty scratches abound as the album speaks the universal language of the instrumental hip-hop head-nod. “every day” hypnotizes with its funky handclap stomp, quick guitar riffs, and fleeting splashes of vocal. a gentle approach is revealed on “blossom fell”, featuring a dreamy female vocal hook, slowly tremolo’ed electric piano chords, and an overall air of wistfulness. “lines” brings ideaz into futuristic funk territory as its loping cut-up beat, abstract synth melodies, and ascending bass line imagine a robot dance-off on a year 2054 episode of soul train. those are just a few of the highlights to be found on motion capture.

vril debuted on the delsin-label with his excellent vortekz ep early in 2014, which came after releases on his family-label giegling and also semantica in previous years, and was followed up by the torus lp, a double 12- on giegling affiliate forum. now he s back with his second full length. one day vril sat down in his station and suddenly a portal opened. thru a kind of timehole infinitive moments passed by. luckily he was able to capture a few of those to share with us. the portal closed. nothing was left, no questions.. only this lp.

having carved out a lane truly his own in the often harshly competitive world of techno, argentinian-born / barcelona-based producer sebastian lopez, alias flug, has long proven to be no bit player in the scene and his compositions have kept signalling a fighting fit producer, whose highest standards of floor skippering and experimentation-friendly approach have never failed him over the years. resurfacing three years after the drop of his debut vinyl album, -in safe hiding-, flug clocks in on quartz rec with -flug i the collection- - a long-player bound to reconnect fully with the club and produce very energetic tracks that represent the techno he loves playing during his dj sets. all tracks were originally written on tour, on the plane or in hotel rooms to better capture the dancefloors vibe, using field recordings from around the globe and later processed in the studio via his analogue arsenal of preference.
