>effective< on the a-side is one of those tracks with a very special groove. simple, but strongly effective. dry twittering sounds on top, keep with the clicks and all is well. the b-side >been in glue<, is another 100% sureshot. you can hear the classic traffic signs sounds from the release. it is this very unique formula, the mixture of jackin beats, dry bass and short melodies what makes you groove on and on and on and on…
CUZ OF U
12 Inch
02.12.05
a full-on electro excursion from cajmere, with a great vocoder vocal the centerpiece, surrounded by driving beats and a steady bassline. mark grant takes it to the main floor crowds with a stellar rework, retooling the drums and bass for the peaktime hours and throwing some well-placed filters into the mix, while the vocal stays present. on the reverse, the 'praise mix' is a classic slice of gv action, with thumping drums, wailing synths, swirling effects, and no vocal, all very much in the style of 'flash' et al

I LOVE YOUR SHOES
12 Inch
28.11.05
their first ep for fine is a good introduction to their sound, be warned though, this is only the beginning.i love your shoes.pirate incorporates ferocious pulsing bottom end, a spoken pan-european vocal and some spitefully tasteful synths green eggs feat. colin mcfarlane is a dream where someone breaks into your house batters your telly with a massive baseline and then reads you your favourite bedtime story.i gotta thang (uh huh) feat crazy girl moves away from the dancefloor, if only a pace or two. balearic electronic tectonic platonic. whatever! its fresh retro i love your shoes (dub) is the soundtrack to the best sci-fi b movie youve never seen, its rolling bass, changing shuffling rhythm and splashing cymbals is sure to blow torch many a late night floor

7.19 FM DAVID EP
12 Inch
23.11.05
underground darling mathew jonson with another extra-large three track stunner: right from the start swirling synth over a pinching beat suck you into a vortex before a rubbery bassline takes the lead and an electrical storm of dark, haunting sounds wrap you in. well, words dont do this truly symphonic oeuvre no justice - this has to be experienced in the dark and in earsplitting volume. on the flip mj gives free reign to his unlimited creativity with an impressive soundtrack-style tableau of electronic jazz, sounding like late bass-revolutionary jaco pastorius descending form the outerworld to interveave some of his crazy warbled, bend notes into a messianic david axelrod arrangement, mixed at lee scratch perrys echo chamber. miles above your typical pain-by-numbers club fare - simply huge!

GET DOWN / TONITE
12 Inch
01.11.05
break 3000 and adam kroll take quite some chances in naming their first collaboration 'get down' cause in the golden era of funk and disco every second track that was produced to 'just' get people on the went by this title ( a quick namecheck on allmusic.com confirms close to 300 entries ). well, our two protagonists surely had a few of those blueprints in mind as they clearly quote some of the main characterisitcs - handclaps, pulsating moroder style bassline, extra thick slap bass, robotic voice - mix them up with a few drops of acid, a rough guitar riff plus majestic paino chords and distill everything to a luiquid, sleek state-of-the-art house funker. the flip is more introspective and very atmospheric with darker, moody chords, yet the galloping square bassline and the omnipresent sharp highlight make sure that 'tonite' theres no parking on the dancefloor. when the players arrivea the club...beware

berlin minimal house hero dave dk (highgrade, television, mÜller, tresor, raum...musik and many more) delivers 2 tracks of utter funkiness with his trademark digitised yet warm ultra funk sound. 'jus suckas' starts with bouncy bass joining forces with squirts of cut-up style percussion rumbling its way before the chord stylee strings attack with added sample-vox. great groover we say. 'this is not a problem' goes more sinister and dark afterhours with rolling bass and machine style groove and which makes you wanna drop that **** before dominating synth lines hits the g-spot and you are already teleported to another level. hott
