THIS IS NOT HOUSE MUSIC ( INCL GRUBER & NUERNBERG RMX & DOWNLOAD-CODE)
12 Inch 17.08.10
bassbuero a.k.a. thomas ingold and his partner björn müller are long-year resident djs and promoters in our hive club and come around the corner with a smooth customer debut. the title could not be any more designative, as with this is not house music we have a knotless and outstanding 90s number with lots of pathos and - declaredly - they have looked over some shoulders of big protagonists from france. when the vocoder chords are crossing swords with this insane bassline, every ravers heart must beat at least one octave higher. this is the tune for a perfect sunrise and big feelings on the floor. on the flip we have gruber & nuernberg, some good pals of bassbuero that played in hive several times as well - they contribute a complete antipole to the the original. almost a bit trancey they spin the chords over a straight old school house groove, never let the basic spirit of the original out of sight and though don t forget to leave their very own traces on this remix. in addition we have - as with every release - a digital exclusive bonus track, that certainly does not deserve the rating house music - lets call it rather fidget than deep. but be sure, its all gone will blow your mind out.
now on the 7th release this label is not firmly established as one of the uks finest hardcore labels. this time autopsy has a solo outing on his own label. 4 amazing tracks that you may have heard him playing live recently finally get their appearance on wax.
catz n dogz are back with their second full length artist album on mothership. the follow-up to 2008s >stars of zoo< is a break from convention and a further exploration of genres by this amazing polish duo. hence the new albums title, >escape from zoo< the guys break free from the cage and run wild in a wilderness full of street bass, disco, r&b, deep house, hip-hop and more.
this preview ep is a teaser of two of the tracks from the album especially built for the club. >warsaw by night< is a rough and rugged tech burner that sounds like detroit via poland. and the dirty version adds and extra bit of growl to the equation for those who really want to throw it down.
>i’m the one who’s crazy< is a booming barbecue shaker that mixes elements of hip-hop, soul and house into a low end killer.
the guys have come a long way since their start as the group 3 channels from szczecin, poland and we hope you like these as much as we do.
now in its 3rd release, fortified audio give us this blazing e.p from one of garages finest newcomers: cosmic revenge. hailing from san francisco, cosmic revenge first made an indelible mark on the future garage scene with his >psychic< e.p on whistlas l2s imprint. the tracks from >cold hearted< explore the far-reaching range of cosmic revenges tastes and influences, keeping the usual crisp 2-step beats and vibes while incorporating elements of deep house and techno, the right side of rnb and broken beats that wouldnt sound out of place on a classic domu record. hurricane blues kicks the ep off with some deep, bleepy garage, mutations is his take on uk funky, lead track cold hearted a ridiculously swung roller with boards of canada influenced atmospherics, and late nights rounds it off with a sleazy talk box love-step jam. with this e.p, cosmic revenge is sure to up his status as one of the leading lights in a genre that has seen unbounded progression over recent years, not to mention soundtrack your balmy summer nights. support comes from martyn, shortstuff, mary anne hobbs, jackmaster, whistla etc

h&l are sending summer greetings from potsdams sunny shores. this fresh religio.audio release comes along with a small but priceless selection of unspent pieces just ejected from the irony work bench of the two young technoids. three tracks forged of three solid blocks of iron ore. with tiny hammers, minimum force & maximum devotion they gauged without limiting the full substantial spectrum. now successfully moulded on vinyl for everybodys pleasure
theres quite a bit of talent scouting on this lil lovely compilation. keeping the deep edge, all 4 artists provide dope tunes for your summer nights (and days). up and coming uk producer nick lawson delivers some deep dirty and heavy beats stuff, just right for all the mcde lovers out there. if youre into smooth deep house with still enough drive to be played out then watch the space for the excellent sai from japan. on the flipside there iron curtis (with partner leaves), who has made a strong impression since his debut release on morris audio citysport (49). result: great releases on mule musique, hudd trax, and boe. and yes, a full new 12- on citysport is due soon! finishing off this compilation is mahone from berlin with a groovy tool that can be used...well.....-all night long-!
>testify< is the second single taken from boohgaloo zoos stunning self-titled debut album. u-gene goes all out on the vocals while the bassline and synth stabs are clearly in the business of tearing roofs off suckers. heavy 21st century funk! the remixes make sure that those who like to shake their behinds to something more up-tempo get with the program as well - soulphiction goes to work on the track not once but twice in a full-on boogie mix and one that is more on the minimal side, while hot chips joe goddard takes it to very late night club territories.
the spiros kaloumenos remix on the a-side of this 8th audio family is a great rework of the saimon & mezmeric track. funky vibez with a superb drive full of percusion and energy. a wicked view on how techno should be. just slamming! a favourite for the djs. the flip brings back the rolling thunder original by the guys and still full of the original energy. this timeless piece of techno will always work in any set. dejan milisevic with the cherry on top, great futuristic remix from this man! buy on sight!
big with dubfire, richie hawtin, sven väth, luciano, stephan bodzin, loco dice, karotte, adam beyer, mandy! after d-edge in sao paulo and rex in paris, oliver huntemann selected cielo club in new york to record his third compilation from the play! series. cielo is like no other. tucked cosily in the ultra-hip meat packing district and having won numerous awards for best club in new york, it seemed the perfect pick for this special project the ep, introducing the compilation, consists of two tracks which oliver huntemann produced specially for the big apple. nyc (keep on playin) summarizes perfectly the mood of the city that never sleeps. groovy, somewha melancholic but always ready for more.

so when elektrax got together with bergens label if? to create a new vinyl release of remixes of the sublime little nobody track >metropolis how?< - as the debut showing for our brand new side-label gynoid - we couldnt think of two better practitioners to suit the moment... along with, of course, another canny remixer in the guise of elektraxs main-man, dj hi-shock.
driven by many musical styles both, herbst & blecha spend hours sitting in their small, freezing basement studio, twiddling knobs, djing on weekends and drinking loads of sweet, cheap and sticky orange lemonade. now the work of these two talented producers is rewarded with their first common release. jove is a melodic tech-house piece containing one of those catchy bass lines that will still be sticking in your ear long after the track has finished. well fitting to summer the track ôshilpaö takes you on a smooth trip and will form the perfect transition from your club night experience to watching the sunrise afterwards. the zoo brazil rmx of ôjoveö is a crisp piece that shall evoke your best summer nights you have spent this season. each time the kick drum lets go of your body in a break, you will just get carried away, throw your hands in the air and then fall back into the beat and just smile!

nice price deal !!! this second release from glasgows fortified recordings is a departure in sound from their first acclaimed ep by dundees loops haunt, but all the same in attitude. iranian born, texas residing garagesmith vvv uses his late night musical tests to forge and perfect his sonic output, and deploys a range of techniques not normally found in the often formulaic world of garage and dubstep. this patchwork quilt of laced beats, field recordings and intensive sample editing has made manifest a four track ep that simultaneously references the work steve gurley, todd edwards, carl craig, my bloody valentine, the cocteau twins and roy davis junior via the bastardised strains of 2-step and house practiced by the likes of ramadanman, untold and joy orbison, peppered with that magic elusive el_b swing that only the greats are able to achieve. at the same time familiar yet different (how many times have you heard that?), the four tracks on projects kick with the intensity of the best club music and invokes the cosmic spirit of classic motor city techno with an uplifting and deep soulful vibe that reveals layers of orchestrated natural sound upon repeated listens. in other words, its sexy as fuck. slated for an official release early march , one can only assume this limited 12inch will fly off the shelf much like fortified s inaugural release did
