„spectral decay” is a collection of musical reflections about the paradoxical contemporary state of humankind, whereas its own technological, social, cultural and economical development seems to entrench the possible points of a structura downfall. the narrative of „spectral decay” starts with heavy, mesmerizing industrial vibes. due to the notable sound design techniques of japanese artist tetsumasa, his hefty piece „nex” evolves into a harsh but still amazingly cinematical music sculpture. subsequent mid-tempo composition „onzour shayatini” by meer dynamically follows the dark, experimental path of drone and noisy structures. violent accents smoothly lead to the deconstruction of drum & bass patterns and turn into strident 90s metal riffs. the track progressively penetrates obscure subterranean abysses and becomes a perfect introduction to the next theme by yuji kondo – „hades”. in greek mythology hades was the ancient god of the underground kingdoms, darkness, death and metals. therefore, kondo’s music piece turns into an infernal portrayal of the underworld where tenebrous layers of bass frequencies, raw textures and drexciyan sounds build up an enormous and lasting tension. side b begins with the track „anthropocene” produced by arboretum co-founder – mogano. the whole composition refers to the present geological epoch we live in, characterized by environmental pollutions, depletion of fossil fuels and accelerated urbaniza- tion of the world. it is a deeply conceptual soundscape of a powerful system, that incorporates both – the destructive forces of technology and the infinite energy of the whole universe, that interweave in a devilish dance of post-techno, breakbeat and dub tones. thereafter, ~raw in his piece „poly bios” pictures the interference of human structures in the nature. creating a mosaic from indus- trial and tribal, organic sounds, he tells a mystical story of fear, hope, escape and primeval instincts. the narration concludes with an atmospheric composition of nwrmntc – solo project of ana quiroga from experimental ambient duet lcc. „beyond” is a boundless, spectral reflection on collective human consciousness, where haunting vocals evoke a recon- dite, ineffable pain, leaving the listeners in a profoundly meditative state. laura polan&#769,ska

vox populi field works vol.ii is the second part of a broader project entitled ‘field works’, in which the label travels to different locations in the world in order to collect sounds, eventually creating an archive of some of the finest and humblest musical traditions. inspired by academic methods proper to ethnomusicology and ethnography, this project’s aim is to showcase the diversity of our human cultural heritage, which is threatened by accelerated globalization and homogenization of the worldwide musical spectrum.

saveds next release is a single from label debutants the italoboyz who present *hi fi*. built on punchy kicks and a pulsating bass line, the track is peppered with chopper effects, stand out vocals and rising synths that combine to cause maximum dance floor destruction. federico molinari provides an intelligent remix which instantly pulls the listener in with its hurdling bass line and fx. accelerated congas layer the mix and the vocals are processed through big ambient delays to great effect.

this latest release from hizatron and bashley galvanises the usual wigflexian- gloop with a more industrial edge and a superb implementation of found sounds. a darker pallet underpins the record but this is inverted then lifted with inserts of scattered euphoria. whilst all that is synonymous with the current face of techno lurks consistently in the background throughout, in an almost redemptive fashion, we are hoisted upward from a chromatic descent and set forth onto a crisp, bouncy path peppered with light. the depth of stereo field is utilised perfectly here and the use of dimension is something of a staple for all of those who call wigflex home. hizatron is known for his seamless arrangements, catchy melodies and punchy percussion and this record has that unquestionable tron swagger but the familiar sound is accelerated by new influences from bashley who although a relatively unknown member of the family brings a fresh range of timbres that compliment hizas signature grooves.

piemont had a furious premiere at gedankensport. the nightshift ep caused huge waves of response. frederic möring-sack and christian de jonquieres already had an excellent reputation as solo artists the last years but as piemont they brought up an extraordinary standard of minimal techno. they run their own labels suchtreflex, hammarskjold and fingerfoodmusic. their music is suitable for peak time as well as for after hours and listening comfort. their debut gained great public interest and soon top artists supported as thomas schumacher, oliver huntemann, oliver koletzki, monika kruse, deep dish and umek supported the tracks. heavy rotation accelerated by their next act of greatness at gedankensport and now we are proud to announce the follow-up which is another wonderful milestone of minimalism!
