he s the man of the moment. james nidecker, rising star of the dutch technoscene, is always sure to raise an eyebrow or two. not only his djsets, where the amsterdam based artist is often getting the crowds wild with his dark gothpunklike outfits, but also his recent productions can be called mindblowing. nidecker perfectly knows how to combine his dark vocals with uplifting beats, combining influences from electro and minimal techno. s.t.a.l.k.e.r is the culmination of his talents, a hit record already wandering around the dutch clubscene for a while, now finally released on alexander koning s upstruct imprint.

stanley anscorm has finished the follow-up to battle beyond the sun. you can expect two epic tracks on this nearly 30 minutes record. although the tracks are based on identical compositional material, they shine in very different color. the black side is of high density and impresses with remarkable bass figures which seems to grow on the fundamental principles of low frequencies. these figures are easily carrying loads of percussions and even an orchestral set of horns which does not seem to be from this world. the white side can be understand as a lighter interpretation of the same topic and it is thrill of its own to discover the intersections between the two tracks. sure, this music is nothing you listen to in an elevator - stanleys art demands attention, there is no doubt about this - but the reward you get if you listen or dance to it with an open heart is of a kind you might never come in contact with somewhere else.

as costello continues to look long, the grooves continue to flow. lng3 sees the reissue of the deep house classic pleite which originally appeared on trapez in 2003. recorded in dublin in 2002, this version has been mastered at dubplates and mastering, berlin in 2009. the results are stunning and serve as a welcome reminder of costelloÆs deep roots. pleite (costello dub) in particular could teach some of todayÆs hyperactive producers a thing or two about setting up a solid groove and letting it sit. the timing of this reissue could not be more perfect with regard to the current musical zeitgeist. the title, a german colloquialism for broke or indeed bankrupt which was an in-joke at the time of the original release, takes on a new significance in the context of global economic recession.

dojo is about getting back to the roots of american techno and house, and getting away from the computer. we want to help bring back the spontaneity and freedom of live performance and recordings. we want to celebrate the raw physicality of the music, and the dj who still likes to mix. ross since, 1997, ross has been in the background of the westcoast canadian techno scene, particularly the victoria family that included mathew jonson, cobblestone jazz, the mole, and hrdvsion. in 1998, he released the now out-of-print compilation album ôgarden city dubs, that featured first material by mathew jonson, and cobblestone jazz. he left for california in æ98, but kept his finger on the pulse as the art director for itiswhatitis recordings. while in the bay area, he listened mostly to soul,rap and early american techno music. heavily influenced by his time spent in the u.s., he started to develop a musical aesthetic, which he is now ready to express. young florent florent moved to vancouver from switzerland to attend art school. he began to get into making techno. tapping into his french-martinique roots, florent quickly developed a unique sound, which caught rossÆs ear. a few live jams later, it was clear that they worked well together, so they got a studio space and got to work. one month later, dojo had its first release. florent has only been making music for a year, but his swiss work-ethic is dangerous

after their well received debut album on internasjonal, windsurfs here to remind you about their brilliance. one of the standout tracks off their album, bird of paradise now gets a reworking from their scandinvian musical cousins studio who not only manages to bring it to the dancefloor, they even fit in a week long holiday to turkey as well....yamaz!!! to make the package complete, the beat broker(of broker dealer on ghostly)turns out a nice and deep house version of light as daylight. tasty indeed...

on side a: markus homm, mihai popoviciu and jay bliss. three sophisticated artists with releases on highgrade, imigrant and foundation records. this magical trio created this funky, deep house track for us, which brims over with groove and energy. on side b we are ver happy to welcome a newcomer, who is going to be listened to a lot soon. felx feygin grew up in brooklyn new york, and still lives there. about himself he says: äone day i fell in love with jazz, then we got married and had little deep house babies.ô when you listen to this track, you will know what he means! and if that was not already enough, there is a fantastic ôdop -remix. they are responsile for the fresh sound made in france, and brought us a lot of joy with there releases on circus company. and because this trio is something special, the boy sang some lines of the text for this remix themselfes. the outcome is genuine and we are very happy
