maybe >grandfathers clock< is the most house influenced release from the german duo piemont so far. going more deep dirty and housy this time... they turn towards a more relaxed and slack approach. chopping up bits of vocals and sounds, tight and funky, this is what piemont is all about. >running mirror< refers to giorgio moroder respectively hi energy influences and is a hypnotic cool groove monster that will convert spaces into soulful places. frederic and christian have released a good dozen of records now and have been very successful. with >peak time tracks< such as >carbonat< being played by the whole lot of ibiza djs and big names around the world. >running mirror< definitely manifests a turning point in their musical spectrum... to deeper grounds of electronic dance and will get other djs involved in their manifold world of music.

the mole is back on musique risquée with his 3rd ep to date called dreamer keep on dreaming. each track on this record is a story about dreams. dreamer is this weird one you cant get rid of, the with the annoying voice following you around everywhere. oh my stomach is the mysterious black & white dream, with cigar reek and bad whiskey breath. last ditch is the action packed one, with its car chase and the usual neverending sex scene at the end. and usually after, you wake up and the record is over.

herman is probably the coolest artist name we have heard in a while.. so unsexy and very unlikely that its not someone s real name... but stuart li must have had a laugh about it with some friends and some beers! stuart li aka basic soul unit aka herman starts this project for his production that one would not directly link to his chicago house rooted basic soul unit releases. herman delivers two hot tracks with dubstep fueled beats, sub bass driven grooves with detroit influenced sounds that one could expect on a label such as hessle audio. title track prototype is total killer which goes into the direction of 2562 and martyn. april skies sound like aril brikha meets 2562 meets basic soul unit. hot release!!

a pair of bangin tribal cuts from brothers vibe on the first release on the mixx label. >conga terado< is all about the beats, with a solid kickdrum laying the foundation for some killer tribal beats and percussion. nothing else used here, its just bangin beats all the way. on the reverse, >slave to the rhythm< opens with a thudding kickdrum alongside some filtered synths and a stabbing vocal before the tribal gear comes into play. again, no bassline here, just layer upon layer of percussion and drums. should be perfect for the pro jocks amongst you to tool around with.

remain records 008 is all about the man behind the brand. in a string of excellent releases, axel karakasis signs the raw level ep, which boasts three exceptional tracks from the greek wild-child.

sweet 4 track ep by this newcomer... 3ear has a great ear for new artist! sarrass is hailing from the south-west of germany. he began his musical career by studying trumpet and piano and performing in small classical and jazz groups. later, after learning about klaus schulze he got in touch with techno which has (as we all know) a huge impact! he debuted release on compost black with the >home at the sea< ep. third ear discovered him and signed this sweet 4 track ep! a nice blend of detroit techno with abstract electronical sounds as being used by klaus schulze and the early german pioneers and contemorary house. great modern club tools with a nice personal twist! check!

kurbits 004 marks the return of dan andrei who brings the romanian dirt with two dusty, percussive techno tools. first out on the label side is ramble on, an old school house rhythm. driven by a shaker in a jacking groove and topped off with a rambling vocal about nothing at all, because after all these vocals about >house music<, whats left to say? just put the track on and get the groove on! four sticks on the info side is a straight up techno banger built on a rolling house groove. no funny business, just a sublime percussion workout with little but essential hints of melody to let you catch your breath, then straight back to the groove! we sincerely hope youll have as much pleasure with these tracks as we are. well be back soon with new and exciting rhythms. happy mixing!

mumbai science... sounds boring, right? dont worry, we are not talking about obsessed white-suit-scientists but about a duo of musicproducers working their way up the musicgame. after having worked on different projects in the past, they now join forces in what might be one of the freshest sounds you will hear this spring. they are debuting on lektroluv records with a three-track-ep including mumbai science originals woof, 3200 and coconuts: eastern vocals, southern bongos, western flows and northern coolness, that about sums it up. mumbai science will be all over the place in the next few months, so there will be plenty of oportunities too see and hear what the fuzz is all about!

blind minded lives in london and is famous for his live appearances and has his third release with trapez ltd with >mr propre<. his first two release on trapez ltd was supported heavily and where charted by the italoboyz so weare looking forward to his follow up. >mr. propre< is the return of what used to be of the detroit sound blended with modern spontaneous changes in mood and crossovers which will put a smile on your face. >mr. propre< is the most technoid of all three tracks, whereas >jazz 2 me< is a bassline monster, with vocalquotes about jazz music stating it as >a state of life<, >something that you live!<. altogether a sexy cool groover! >the melting freak< is the most deep of all three tracks. here you can hear blind minded playing his analogue instruments (also a real 808 drum machine) being funky and cool rather than going for cheap thrills.

almost one year after the first release derive schallplatten releases the second record. thats quite a long time. but however, haste makes waste and even more when its about some passionate drifters!

back in 1998 this was probably just about the wrongest record you had ever heard … and it has to be said that not much has changed. forshaw has a knack of turning out ridiculously hard and mangled electro and techno tracks – but still managing to make them sound >poppy<. sometimes, as in the case of rockford for example, it is because he uses well recognisable (but unexpected) samples. but more often it is just because he manages to make tunes (no matter how hard) that make you stop gurning and start smiling.

this man cant currently be stopped. following his releases through the 2nd season 2009 (>marvin” on compost, >smaul 06< & >smaul 07<) in january 2010 acid paulis >riverboat tour< came out. now, it seems he opens this years summer season with these two psychedelic thrilling tracks. even though he had been touring a lot with the notwist last year, acid pauli was pretty often an invited, musically refreshing guest in berlins minimal techno (what ever) scene. den mahlstrom rauf leaves no doubts about. great build up he does by keeping tension over five minutes to unlash finally the madness charge with a levitating reverse-ducking-compressed melody. den mahlstrom runter (a play on words of travelling on a boat and getting milled…) seems to be the return from the trip he gives on side a. it is the same track reworked. his musical drama goes faster but deeper under the cortex – but >how lucky a fate< deliverance comes at right time taking the track over to a known housy and deep realm.

following up on their very well received previous release on roots, ortin cam and charles bells are now consolidating their position with black, episode 6 of what is rapidly becoming one of belgiums premier techno imprints. three different tracks, three showcases of what techno can be in 2010.
