multi instrumentalist and singer maryja symone johnson and percussionist eric thomas joined together at the rhythm sticks festival in london in july 2004 to create new sounds that have been influenced by afro-caribbean origins. they have successfully performed at different concerts and festivals throughout europe. their first single >je suis music< edited by thiaba records is an adaptation of the original disco hit written in 1978 by international artist cerrone. afro-urban concept completely transformed this song by playing soca grooves with new melodies but the dance floor flavor stays alive. on side 1 is the vocal version with some extended piano, drums and percussions improvisations at the end. on side 2 the first track is an instrumental version recorded with the typical 70s sound where the drums and percussion are in evidence. the second track is more an hypnotic london drum n bass version.

oscar mulero delivers the original parts and version for this tune, reworked and revisited by the rest of the partners in crime: christian wunsch, exium and reeko, each one giving their own vision on the noises made by oscar.

sychi sychi is the second and exclusive release of denkbar,a new and promising russian label managed by alex danilov and michel misha! the little owls attack and the russians strike again… analog passages, strings and flutes were very harmoniously entered in this hypnotizing atmosphere.
the first one delivered by b.a.d is so groovy, perfect for dancing… it features conversations between two spaniards and this emphasized the atmosphere of this track.
>de color verde< is the second track and was made by one of the labelboss, alex danilov! it offers a warm climate, a pleasant sound of a«short» guitar and sensual piano sequences.
with >weg afro<, the third track by michel, the other part of denkbar, you can imagine the shaman dancing near the fire and a church full of people of african origins! a lot of basses and percussions – giving you an excellent combination.

for more than 15 years now, steve bug is known for influential track somewhere in between house, techno and minimalism. with his very good sense for the energy of self-limitation, bug has set standards when it comes to the funk of modern sound geometry, especially with his imprint poker flat recordings. milestones such as >loverboy<, >monsterbaze< or >wet n dry< are now essential elements of the history of electronic dance music. only a few weeks after the release of his fourth album collaboratory, bug even tops that one with this 12 inch on cocoon: while look whos stalking obviously refers to steves close relation to the raw energy of u.s. house in between chicago trax and detroit, using driving hand claps, percussions and nasty vocals, the flipside zero balance could pass as a vision of how far you can reduce techhouse to the essence of a bass line. also here, short vocal loops - besides the fast-moving elements - complete a sensibility that makes bugs tracks such high quality music for a very long time now.

big with richie hawtin, tiefschwarz, loco dice, dubfire, jeff k ... new sub-division lessizmore limited is the occasion for us to produce new artists and to release their work in a beautiful colored 10 inch, 500 copy limited pressing for audiophiles. the first release is focused on two new hopes of 2009: jin choi and dop. jin choi has released many impressive eps on ware, archipel and roman photo. his tracks are subtle, full of details, he looks for instruments and singings you would never expect in a usual dance tune. carnivores is a long and melancholic trip which cannot let you unmoved. french trio dop does a complete rework of the track, adding their own voices, some punchy percussions and a pinch of sex appeal. they keep the original vocals and instruments but use it in such a different way that makes it look funnier.

after the success of their recent woolfy vs. projections remix, here comes the first full 12inch from the newly formed production outlet permanent vacation by the two label heads tom bioly and benjamin fröhlich. for the track tic toc they fullfilled themselves a long dreamt dream to work with their beloved disco diva numero uno kathy diamond. tic toc is a very hooky, oldscool sounding track with a strong piano line on the cutting edge of house and disco. the flipside of the 12 brings you zucker hut, which aims more at the dancefloor with its sweaty and tropical atmosphere,lots of percussions floating strings, an arrpegiated synth and a big horn section.

stanley anscorm has finished the follow-up to battle beyond the sun. you can expect two epic tracks on this nearly 30 minutes record. although the tracks are based on identical compositional material, they shine in very different color. the black side is of high density and impresses with remarkable bass figures which seems to grow on the fundamental principles of low frequencies. these figures are easily carrying loads of percussions and even an orchestral set of horns which does not seem to be from this world. the white side can be understand as a lighter interpretation of the same topic and it is thrill of its own to discover the intersections between the two tracks. sure, this music is nothing you listen to in an elevator - stanleys art demands attention, there is no doubt about this - but the reward you get if you listen or dance to it with an open heart is of a kind you might never come in contact with somewhere else.
