throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht� parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

mikael strömbergs alter ego igor has created the album *fast & slow* who is an aspiring masterpiece in the ambient genre, the references are very clear to the 70s iconic ambient school, including satie-cage-eno-soundart, but at the same time a modern touch and a sense of the present. the story behind this album is the least frightening and fascinating as the composer strömberg was seconds away from losing his lives when the aorta ruptured all the way from top to bottom with the diagnosis: acute aortic dissection. the music became a part of his rescue and the record *fast and slow* came about as part of his healing process.

dikkens is a beautiful soul from rotterdam who is combining different heartfelt emotions in one wonderful record glued together by a tremendous subbass.

the bush is a homage to the place where i have lived for the last decade (askew road). the askew road itself is slowly changing so i wanted to document all the places that play a big part in mine and my families lives before they eventually get sold for more flats or tescos. first up was peckings studio 1 record shop, which has been on this stretch of road since the 1960s. next up is the mighty sun pub which became a local talking point when they sold the place because a sign sat in the window that announced this bup is close.

bond commander petter b lands on planet rhythm with a bombshell record that contains 3 staggering originals and a fierce re:axis remix. the opening effort *cc21* is a rough repetitive pacer that will definitely turn some heads. *transporter* serves as a vibey yet evolving piece of work that builds up the tension but let s go every now and then. *protoportal* is yet again a repetitive grower with a somewhat less dark build as the opening tracks. re:axis closes down with a robust rework of *transporter*. belter record.

the mexican multi-genre record label cvmr returns in its wax infused form with its sophomore vinyl-only release following the sold out, larry heard remixed, tijuana-made phenomena *lip reading* by soul of hex with a newcomer artist. fedde, hailing from the strictly-vinyl/house-head-friendly dance floors of mexico city and currently living in berlin, presents his debut record on the label, with his extended play format entitled *supermoon ep* accompanied by a remixe of the konotopian genius of ukraines hardware experimentalist vakula.

feelings is the next single to be released ahead of tim deluxes highly anticipated lp the radicle, a deep and jazzy cut which includes two distinct versions. with its deep jazzy reprise and classic french house-influenced tone, the club edit pairs a shuffling groove with freeform trumpet courtesy of renowned instrumentalist jay phelps with whom tim has worked extensively. the ice cream dub throws back to tim�s garage-roots, with the name directly referencing the highly influential record label he founded back in the 90s. tim skilfully blends the techniques of his heritage with the more modern, garage-influenced house sounds, creating a bubbling, low-end monster.

front the roots of i records comes the very first and original release of somore i refuse (what you want). the vocals resonated by damon trueitt as his bridge of -what you want- has gone on to strike chords in people s hearts almost 20 years later. this first release came with ny deep remixes by wayne gardiner (best known for his work on strictly rhythm & nervous records). it also featured production work by the original filthy rich. released in 1996, the record went on to spawn a list of uk influenced remixes.

boddika s nonplus label will release a series of 12inches mixing classic source direct with new remixes. jim baker is a pioneering drum & bass and jungle artist who s been recording solo as source direct since 1999 (before then the project was a duo with phil aslett). on june 8th nonplus will issue a 12inch that has a blawan remix of black rose alongside the 1996 original. that ll be followed by a record featuring 95 cut approach & identify backed by a remix from demdike stare.

uk funk connoisseur duke slammer takes the driving seat on the 303-fueled �bangkok skytrain�, with remixes from moscow based simple symmetry and returning artist tony g. inspired by tropical heat, bangkok skytrain utilises 303s, analogue drum machines and mixes in field recordings taken from an excursion to thailand. the result is a heady concoction of warm basslines and humid atmospheres, with a groove reminiscent of early 90�s melodic techno and a cheeky drum track that wouldn�t be out of place on a larry heard record. simple symmetry, the lipski brothers from moscow, slowly rebuild layers of the track like a locomotive building up momentum, and in typical style simple symmetry style finding the perfect vocal sample and pan pipes that help propels you into the foreign lands. before you know it the track is pumping at full chug! tony g�s take goes a bit further afield than the original. a dub rhythm sets the picture in outer-space. hihats stutters like cosmic dust rickashading off the nosecone of the space ship while longing strings take us deep into a distant nebular before the 303 bring the thousands of new galaxies into view. definitely music to listen to in the dark! look out for the secret dancefloor weapon �just drums�, an industrial drum machine workout for the freaks!

the rise of azimute continues, after a their killer debut on crosstown rebels, an appearance on john digweeds live in toronto and much received hype with their new vinyl only label, azimute music. we are the sound ep is a full on journey into the unique sound of azimute. the first track on the ep is taken from the title, it features the vocals of rocky washington who has worked with the likes of snoop dog & jay z. the track has infectious percussion from the start and rolls effortlessly through, azimute s signature sound takes control as rocky s vocals complete the journey, a definite late night anthem for sure. next up is laterra, this true hypnotic and percussive piece is built for the main room and is certain to cause damage. on the flip side of the vinyl we have -under control-, its a stripped out eerie yet beautiful piece of techno which builds and builds, certainly one for berghains main room. finally we have the track entitled -way back-, another late night techno roller, with clever guitar stabs and a clean sound scape layer that draws you in as the record play

i first heard of julixo when i put my hands on his fantastic ep called silas released on rauh 005. after that, i kept a close eye on the sounds he was posting, and when i heard rebho, i knew we were going to do something together. the warm synth line, together with the jackin drum patterns, were perfect. then came reflections, which fitted superbly with rebho. although slower, and maybe more introspective, you still have that warm feeling going through the track. we decided to go with life of crime on the other side of the record. much more aggressive in its construction, that track deserved a side on its own: modern techno at its best. i hope you will enjoy this nice versatile release as much as i do! best regards, philippe petit

>cissi moon changed my life! it was in a now refurbished part of stockholm in a futuristic cafe/club called holger that i had my first encounter with loudly played club music. the night was called db and we lined up with our fake ids every saturday to hear cissi moon spin drum & bass records and let the bass engulf our beings.< >at the time the art of making electronic music was totally alien to me, i could not for the life of me work out how to ever make music that carried the same emotional and physical impact as i felt on that dance floor. i have spent the last 17 years or so trying to get back to that state of being at one and completely lost with the music.< this record concludes a trilogy of eps by peder mannerfelt on his eponymously named label. what comes next is everything and beyond.

after retiring from the jamaican police force arthur duke reid established his treasure isle liquor store and sound system in pink lane kingston and was crowned the undisputed king of sound and blues in 1956, 57 and in 58. the duke then moved into record production and after relocating the store to 33 bond street, he then built a recording studio on top of his new premises in 1966. according to the musicians and singers the wooden construction of the treasure isle recording studio gave the music a distinctive warmth and richness and with resident engineer byron baron/smithy smith at the controls, the sound of a bond street recording was immediately recognisable.
