the world of b. is like a giant disco ball, where she likes to dance all around and meet some friends to share some music: roger thornhill gave classic disco perfection, hysteric sent a letter from the far east, or maybe from italy, turbo boom-boom chewed a funky bubblegum song to make a housy rolling track and baerlz reworked a boogie track, just what it needed to have the righteous construction for the dancefloor.
although better known for his euphoric uptempo european disco edit style across labels such as public possession, ostra discos and most recently bahnsteig23, here the melbourne based collector and dj steps away from the dancefloor and presents two slower paced and (dare we say) more mature, sample-based efforts on this double-a side limited edition 7 inch.

the original instrumental mix of stardust was one of hed kandis favourites at el divino last summer, and with the new season already taken off with the ims and the opening fiestas last week, ibiza is the perfect place to drop the new vocal mix, which really sounds like the long awaited vocal version of pjanoo that has never seen the lights of the day. this adds a monster loleatta holloway sampling vocal to the large twisted disco groove of the original. a massive bomb that is set to be a big hit for the usuals! skylarks andy chatterley takes to the controls with a powerful interpretation, complete with sharp driving drums and an underlying techno rhythm. a more stripped down dub mix is enclosed also for those who like things a little bit darker and deeper. last but no by means least, tim hudson, fresh from his latest here comes the sun release on hysterical, turns in a hypnotic house groove to make you smile.
te amo is a forgotten gem originally released on the volumex label back in 1993 and then licensed to the legendary vc records in the u.k. with mixes from john digweed. this was a huge anthem back in the early 90s full of balearic passion and happiness which is often missing in todayÆs music. but lets not get carried away in the memories of the past and check out these brand new mixes. in fact, the record makes a fine return to todays scene thanks to brilliant interpretations from two of our favourite djs/producers out there: hotly tipped paolo mojo and tapesh.to round off one pretty nifty package, the original caliente mix is enclosed also. and this still sounds as relevant today as it did almost two decades ago. a blast from the past indeed! very similar to releases on record labels like cr2, defected and toolroom.
the huge new version of rose rouge..already quoted a brilliant remake of the st germain classic by pete tong who played the track 5 times in 4 weeks on bbc radio 1 and tipped it essential new tune, and rewieved nothing less than a techno jazz classic in dmc update & number 2 in the buzz chart, and with early support from leading names including groove armada, luciano, villalobos, dj sneak, crookers, dubfire, laurent garnier, mousse t, nick warren, ralf & rob da bank to name a few...
hit alert: as already tipped in the cool cuts chart in music week - where the track has been recently hitting the top 20, thats jazz is an old school jazzy house groove and definitely one of the most surprising and euphoric track surfaced in miami this year. already playlisted from bbc, galaxy fm, kiss fm and radio fg and supported from adam shaw, glenn morrison, riva starr, dj chus, robert owens, hector romero, freeform five, john acquaviva, jim rivers, gold ryan, tiger stripes, cicada, atfc, sultan & ned shepard, gus gus, elite force, audiojack, rob mello, chris lake and satoshi tomie.
dave robertson & jon gurd have delivered an outstanding mix, turning the track into a complete new direction, a techno monster which draws inspiration from their the rendition club hit released on cr2 last year, causing any dancefloor to go ape everytime!!!
2011 release. their first new album in more than three years, hysterical marks a major milestone in the continuing evolution of clap your hands say yeah. born out of an intensely collaborative process in which songs were constructed, dismantled, and then rebuilt anew, the album finds the band their most confident and creative, expertly expanding upon its already distinctive sound. from the chrome-plated licks of maniac and the title track to the sheets of eddying synths and emotive motorik pulsebeats of into your alien arms and ketamine and ecstasy, the band delivers up sonically provocative pop music that is simultaneously jubilant, mesmeric, and altogether infectious. hysterical reveals clap your hands say yeah to be a wholly developed band in full command of their unique artistic gifts. this long play version pressed on 180 gram vinyl also includes a download card.
