summer, sun and ping! for 8 weeks, it has not rained, a constant 30 degrees day and night and again this track. in this year s summer ping! (leutral rec.) offers a small soft organs house number. la bella bella is the name of the track and promises not only a beautiful woman with an elegant swing of the hips on the dance floor. jamy wing (sonido / einmaleins / finebeatz) shakes the appropriate remix-cocktail with sun-ripened fruits from percussions and matching reduction.

newly signed to planet mu, travis stewart aka machinedrum is known to the electronic music cognoscenti as one of the finest, yet inexplicably underexposed producers out there. after an extended ep last year on the luckyme label he is putting out this four tracker followed by an album with mu, and his new tracks and live performances are garnering some excited attention and new fans and supporters. the songs on this ep are light and sun-hued with psychedelic, colourful sounds and melodies. clocking in at around 160 bpm, they work within ands alongside the rhythmic conventions of footwork and jungle, with a hefty dose of uk-flavoured bassomatic house thrown in for good measure.

for more than a year, third ear and benjamin have been selecting tracks for this ep and for an album to follow later in the year. the wait was largely due to the track no kicks, which initially used a chuck d acapella, titled no. when third ear couldn?t get clearance for the acapella, we suggested to benjamin that we try and think of another poet/rapper who could produce an original lyric inspired by chuck d?s flow. after some thought we suggested diamondancer, who was inspired to write the lyric she performs here. stay hungry stay foolish and acidic sun are delicious and dreamy, with a fat pulsing groove. hello ammmerika is more urgent, pushing the groove constantly.
