introducing the first release from mysterious new label, southern lights. dedicated to releasing high-end hypnotic grooves from close friends and family from australia and around the globe. the first release is by melbourne artist craig mcwhinney, featuring heavy cuts of percussion and atmosphere in equal measure with the ‘versions’ ep. the a-side features ‘upon humanity’ and the b-side features two versions of ‘keloid’. in contrast, on the remix tip is eric cloutier’s ‘the end is near version’ of upon humanity , which strips back the elements to a more esoteric and cerebral translation of the original. for lovers of fine art and fine techno. limited to 300 copies, 180 gram vinyl.

ketev is the realm in which berlin based sound artist yair elazar glotman employs his unique ambient technoid soundscapes to explore the balance between darkness and light, fragility and strength, and tension and release. ‘traces of weakness’ follows up the solo contrabass lp ‘Études’ for subtext records, and continues to expand on the themes explored on previous ketev albums for where to now? and opal tapes. ‘traces of weakness’ was recorded at ems stockholm using their buchla modular synth, and processed with reel-to-reel tape manipulations including personal archived field recordings. the sleeve photography comes courtesy of yair’s father, the artist yehoshua shuka glotman.

zaquoir alias matthias groß is a producer and musician currently living in leipzig. after sending us more than 10 gigabites of great music, we sat down together and tied a selection of his really eclectic styles of production together into one lp, creating some sort of showreel created in the timespan of over 15 years. zaquoir himself sees the record as a reminiscent mood of a donkey in the sardinian sun and describes the record as a trip in itself, allowing the listener to traverse the lines of various acoustic landscapes. the tracks on the lp where produced in six different places, including a historic house in the centre of vilnius, the artist residency blumen in leipzig, a french-german art association and a village in northern bavaria.

french producer juliano delivers the next ep, entitled * this must be...*, on his own imprint * that place records*. fourth in line on the label, following on from releases from visitors for reworks, mzkbx (aka sacha mambo) and love comedy, the now berlin-based artist gifts his very first ep to the collection. as a dj, juliano has spent the last 13 years honing his craft - first cutting his teeth holding down a residency at l ambassade, and then going on to play all over france and throughout europe. over a decade of digging and spinning has led juliano to develop a refined palette and a knack for finding tunes that make the dance floor bounce. strongly influenced by us house, * panaugust* is a real dance floor killer with its never ending synth. the more emotional * anthem for a friend* is a real tribute, drawing inspiration from chicago and detroit such as the real mess with its special rhythm & blues vibe. finally, cupid mess brings a touch of japanese mood, evoking images of an early-morning rising sun thanks to the classic juno6 sound. julianos ethos is that music should stay fun - preferring to keep things simple, but always real. watch out for this one.

goldmin music label founder romain lanteaume alias einka meets detroit minimalism master terrence dixon aka population one for a truly conceptual techno 12-.. terrence dixon is one of our favorite artists and biggest inspiration.. detroitborn artist released his first 12- back in 1994 followed by several quintessential records and 2 epic albums -from the far future- on legendary berlin-based label tresor. terrence is not only a great techno producer who makes subwoofers roar in clubs, he is a man obsessed by a concept, an idea that he s following from the very beginning.. -minimalism- in the reaaaaal sense of the word.. for example, when thousands producers are wondering what s eventually missing in their new track, terrence is rather wondering what s useless, what could be removed and that s definitely what he gets to share on his own -reduction- imprint. after the release of terrence s track -steve austin s mile- on goldmin theme lp, romain got to meet him in detroit during summer 2014. the aim was to make an abstract record that could still be linked to a feeling or a situation.. a1 the edge track is probably a good example as it s designed and built to make you feel like you get closer and closer to the edge while the track is slowly growing until you fall.. can you feel it? :) as for the other tracks, there is also a special idea behind them but we better let you interpret it your way

delsin present a new ep by b12 aka steve rutter entitled orbiting souls, a name which comes from the fact the veteran artist has recently spent contemplating the loss of a friend and believes we are surrounded by lost souls and spirits. this is b12 s second ep this year following on from the bokide 325 release on soma records and comes years after still acclaimed album like electro-soma and timetourist on warp records back in the 90s. orbiting souls is a somewhat complex journey, a representation of inner bi polar opposites, isolation, sadness, but also acknowledging the great and wonderful things around that swirl and support and energise us. a perfectly formed sound world that is both absorbing and cerebral and comes with a full colour sleeve by boris tellegen.

soon after label boss dj dis.co began working with the always human tapes label in late 2014 to license tracks for the last doubt vinyl release, a kinship was born. dj dis.co dug deep into the prolific always human tapes record label back catalog and curated a selection of tracks and songs that seemed appropriate for vinyl release. the various artist compilation is a balanced blend of ambient tools and left of center dancefloor gems. dj dis.co isnt the only one to take notice of the burgeoning tape label, a number of always human tapes tracks featured prominently on the june 2015 karen gwyer truancy mix.
