wat is a sound, a digital wave, an electronic bomb! electric guitars like synths, like ice in the fire. easily: smile on your face, a fist on your head!
>double rainbow< is the first 12 inch single by dcs protect-u partnership. a dripping bell loop drops over 707 patterns and deep bass as the a side twists, turns, and grows into a highlife house dream. the b side toughen up is tropical electro-funk gyrating in and out of itself, a 90 bpm churner for all the people out there (like us) living in that nu pangaea where the genres fall apart
the second episode of the extra virgin project delivers a pure family collection of tracks created by our homemade artists minimono, the clover, rufus and david campanini: a 4 tracks ep for any appeal and the good times are back!

HARD TIMES HANGING AT THE END OF THE WORLD (WHITE VINYL LP)
coloured 12 Inch 20.11.09
reaching back through time to lay hands in the forges of metal, nycs children riff out the present with their debut, hard times hanging at the end of the world. formed through jam sessions by guitarists skyler spohn, jonny rad ollsin (formerly of vancouvers s.t.r.e.e.t.s.), and drummer adam bennati (of early man), the group laid waste to clubs in and around the city beginning in late 2006, and have kept shredding onward. tradition meets stamina head on throughout hard times six massive tracks. with intricate, narrative dual guitar work and a frenzied, wired demeanor children bring it all together: thrash advancements, serious girth, familiar passages crosscut with relentless speed, a formidable edge, and self proclaimed spiritual conspiracy party riffs.
incl. manuel tur remix. the second chapter in mild pitch history reveals the cryptically twinkling gem that is langenberg s times , a dark yet sensitive house affair which easily bridges the gap from a rougher 1990s new jersey kind of feel to the modern takes on house music of today. filtered stab fragments and deep chordal layers gently slide into each other like watercolour and the shifting frequencies of a sizzling vinyl record contribute to langenberg s most thrilling work to date. on the flip, manuel tur gears up for an atmospheric remix expansion reminiscent of his critically acclaimed 0201 album debut on freerange earlier this year. countless harmonic layers twine around a filtered disco sample, without ever revealing its full sound spectrum while the raw tripping beat keeps stomping relentlessly…
supported by paul woolford, neil quigley, greg dowling (fish go deep), shigeru tanabu, fred berthet (troublemakers), craig morrisson, nacho marco, dj rork & more
all right, all right new vinyl straight from the streets of chicago through team synapsis. synapsis003 is arriving with some gems that brings unique flavor via four chicago producers. timeless chicago ep ranges from acid to deep featuring: hakim murphy, one half of team synapsis, leads off side a with an acid jam called ôdem shits shinobi.ö inspired by the anime show naruto, the track continues to move and develop like the character. this subtle chicago style track features old school yamaha drums with some sweet oscillating synths equaling the acid sound. house and techno heads will enjoy this tune. g. marcell is up next with ôyeah dat tu.ö jacking chicago house track period
tony nwachukwu is a pioneer and his musical roots go way back. he was the mastermind behind attica blues on the legendary mo wax label and has produced wonderful music which is still timeless. remixes for people like unkle, macy gray and even duran duran prove how incredible he is. at the red bull music academy he teaches his skills to young talented producers and has established an interesting night at londons plastic people called cdr where they only play unreleased music. cdr has also worldwide events. with burnt progress he gives young producers the chance to release their music on his label. his first ep for drumpoet is championing his big love for techno(logy) and equipment in general and underlines the great musical knowledge and open-mindedness of this forgotten legend he is! the ep has already huge support from some of the best djs around and the quality of all three tracks whether it is the detroit-ish t time too the twisted outta ere or the broken flowin is impossible to ignore!
an excellent comilation if the fine future times label that has 4 tracks by beautiful swimmers, sensual beings, max d and protct u... as fairly unknown producers doing some shit hot disco funk and pure house tracks that would have been regulars in larry levans box, if he still would have been around. not sure where all these guys all of a sudden come from... but some seriously good music here!
after the success of their collaboration with paul thomas on last years festival anthem >arena<, mark knight and funkagenda join forces once again on one of the most eagerly anticipated tracks showcased at this years miami wmc.
>good times< is the feel good anthem of the summer comprising of a modest intro with a warbling bass line driving slowly through collecting sounds, before opening up into an edgy synth stab and finally the insanely catchy vocal hook >these are the good times<! the track drops back in like a speeding locomotive train going full steam ahead, with cleverly placed percussion, fx and siren sounds soaring to create an intense rhythm.
on the flip, >flauta magica< shows the diversity of these two acclaimed producers when they get in the studio together. taking a different route from the lead track and concentrating more on the groove, >flauta magica< chugs along nicely with an almost tribal percussive feel to it. the excellent chanting vox sample, reminiscent of the early house sound, keeps the groove rolling along into the drop. taking the lead from the tracks name, a whistling flute riff drops elevating the musical vibe to a new balearic level.
sleazy mcqueens latest offering big times, big tings has a dub ragga house feel to it, showing that the boston-based headtunes recordings aren t afraid to push the boundaries with the music they release. remixer cole medina, producer of legend and mystery , has released music that house and disco djs the world over know and cherish on his own label, house arrest, as well as american standard, hairy claw and internasjonal.
intimacy is paul woolford s own label, which will see him experiment and innovate whilst simultaneously hitting the dancefloor where it hurts with no-nonsense, club-destroying house & techno, custom designed for deployment in basements, warehouses & systems the world over. after making waves and critical acclaim with his superlative reworking of morgan geist s the shore on environ, plus some fevered experimentation over the last year, paul woolford returns directly to the dancefloor with 4 tracks custom built to rock basements & warehouses the world
the answer (gipsy kink mix) working around the rousing vocals of a mysterious anthem resulting into a stomping analogue workout. heavy heavy drums form the basis for a true oldschool-meets-newschool floorfreaker! manolo - timeless signs breathing new life and energy with this slow burning acidic jam. an ideal opener or indeed closer to the party, the free-flowing balearic vibes are coming on strong, as we are locked in on this one.
a little piece of sampledelia from maxmillion dunbar (future times, food for animals) and ari g (manhunter). you know when you scoop a record at some flea because the art looks tight, but it turns out that the shit is wack except for some little beautiful chunk? yea you do. we rescued the good parts from many terrible records that otherwise just would ve collected bad vibes on our floors. dudes trying to bring back something like early daniel wang but mix it with heavy boogie visions (swimmers groove) and all these psuedo-african slow cuts from the 90s that we keep finding (o yea). lifeguards for the vibe.
another perfect electro affair from the stilleben camp. faceless mind aka luke eargoggle & johan inkinen known for their releases on breakinÆ, creme, strange life imprints and their collaboration with the legendary egyptian lover for the egypt ear werk project. here is a limited two tracks loud 45 rpm ep on french label copilote records in a pure old school electro tradition. think about these old classics, x2 by electric soul, clear by cybotron or dmx krew s best work!
another sure fire hit for 3blue wheels & disco return to the ranks and drop a funky good times bomb with remixes from some mighty big names.. fresh from his massive remix of hccr & jose nunez - lifting for cr2, dj dlg does it again creating an anthemic mix thats sure to be heard all summer long. on the b side we have europes finest denis the menace & big world who take it deeper & tribal for those big rooms rounding things off in style is the uks very own funkster e squire who keeps the original feel and opts for an all together funkier hed kandi feel...all in all a top notch package good times indeed!!
g&s is nadia ksaiba and matt nightmoves waites and show me the good times is a chunky, bass heavy beast full of live percussion, space echo fx and sparkling electronic flourishes. theres also someone from a rather famous pop group banging and shaking things in the background, we ll leave it to you to work out who...
a new killer selection from the dclassics crew vault... another 4 tracks to die for in their rare original versions, gently and respectfully remastered for full jazz dance classics decerning dancefloor action... maybe the rarest release so far for the soul all timers... impossible to find sweet popcorn part1 and 2 pasted together for incredible drumbreak thru original moog filters action. on the bside, and for more drumsound, we ve choosen to release the killer atmospherique jazz drum number hallucinogene, a beat diggers delight and very hard to locate these days. to top it up nicely, you ll get a psychedelic sitar dancefloor winner, and an amazing planet of the apes cover version for the headz.
part 3 in the re-edit series sees us go way back to 88/89 with 2 classic tracks by de-lite (wild times) and kenny dopes aka masters at work house syndicate project.
