the last sound carrier was based around the notion of intrepid intergalactic explorers trying to get to earth, this time we’re taken 10.000 leagues below the surface to trawl the deep sea. all the way down there, we experience increased pressure, sub-zero temperatures, darkness and previously undiscovered new worlds. up first we have ‘lactarius indigo mission’, which has a distinct urgency and ‘in-your-face’ bitch slap percussion. the bassline writhes under a variety of squelchy, bleepy effects, which add a layer of depth and the whole thing feels quite electro. after that *from the space to the sea* continues the electro vibes with more punchy beats, a rugged b-line and heavyweight kicks. carriers use of quirky details give this track a unique character and contagious energy.on the other side we are treated to another strange carrier creation, the laidback kepler 22b. named after the first known planet to orbit a sun within what’s known as a habitable zone, kepler 22b could well support life. the track is serene and full of optimism, a fitting soundtrack for a distant earth-like planet. minimal workout * diver level 1000* closes the ep with its unusual arrangement and simple yet deadly programming. another addition to the impressive sound carrier catalogue and perhaps its most leftfield so far

soft talk is the latest alias that natal zaks - our longtime danish friend and a musician we have been constantly releasing under different monikers throughout the last 5 years - picked out for us. he is hands down the most talented producer we have ever met and it is always a privilege to be able release his music under any name he chooses. we have seen his music go through many transformations and they were always for the best. this time we feel the exact same thing, that this is our favorite music ever and we will never want to release anything else again. that is never true of course, but the mercy ep does feel a lot like that.

when we started heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. therefore, i’s our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers ouer, a berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from chicago and detroit. theres a nice mix of energy on the whole ep, the ascent being the most driving track of the package. fans of classics mcde tracks will love show off with its dreamy dx7 style chords and cracking acid lines. move over feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas mess around goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. an impressive ep were just all too happy to have on our label. sincerely yours, lars & maarten
