the *obsidian falls* ep from seattles josef gaard sits at a very fascinating but incredibly complimentary space between traditional techno tendencies and freeform ambient composition and experimentation. each track seamlessly references each other providing a straightforward sense of cohesion while maintaining a constant and aggressively progressive motion. the ep will guide and gently coerce the listener into experiencing a somewhat altered perspective on sonic and musical expression. without much notice the listener will effortlessly travel from point a to point c without realizing they have ever touched on point b.

raam is back with ep 2 where he delivers the massive hidden, a classic dub-driven techno banger. with its stabby synths and 4/4 rhythm its devastating on the dance floor. on the flip hidden gets a remix treatment from the talented baba stiltz (studio barnhus). baba buries the original into a deeper, sonic gritty journey. the ep ends with pallas which is a slow and raw house track with a moody atmosphere.

hotel victoria is the debut ep from two talented editors from poland, holiday 80. holiday 80 inherited a massive collection of wax at a very early age, inciting a deep and lifelong respect for vinyl and the dark grooves. this instilled a profound love not-to-be-contained by a single genre. each song on this palette reflects that diversity and spectrum. from the smooth intro on kto da&#322, nam deszcz with its easy groove to the boogie-blaze of bez tego i owego. the rolling synth bass and sizzling strings of zabawa w stylu folk are at once dark and light in a tense contrast. as comfortable on the b2 as in the basement, we hear the acidic melodies of teleniedziela.

the second mörk release finally gets out of the blocks, helmed by italian analogue explorer raw m.t. with some seriously heavy cuts under his belt, we coaxed him out of hiding for a varied 12- of low-slung house, dreamy beachside dreams and hammering arpeggiated techno, cut deep and heavy over two sides of wax. la duna is a deep 4am roller. murky and shrouded in analogue warmth, it steadily aches and strains through passages of pad filled delirium whilst the percussive echoes of lost nights swirl and clatter. untitled is a beachside dreamy acid number. steady slow grooves undulate under tender vocals with slowly yearning pads and deep acid bringing the light out of the darkness. flipping over to the b-side, strike ups the ante with some seriously driving war-game techno, drenching in arpeggiated madness and washed over with frenetic acid lines.
