matuss returns to her absence seizure imprint february 2017 with �seizure no.6, comprising four original compositions from the new york based artist. since launching the absence seizure imprint in 2015 alongside producer friend abe duque, new yorks matuss has carved out an impressive back-catalogue with this new release marking its sixth and previous material garnering the attention of acts like derek plaslaiko, beaner, dj deep, twr72 and norman methner. once again julia matuss, better known as simply matuss, is at the controls to deliver four original compositions, the first of which la folie sees her deliver a haunting slice of tension building techno via throbbing bass, organic percussion hits and subtly evolving distorted rhythms. muirr follows and takes a more reserved strip back approach with swirling bass tones and sparse drums gradually building towards a frenzied fusion of psychedelic synth swells, vocal stabs and acidic hits. opening the flip side of the record is i hate valentines day, a murky five-minute number employing mind-bending low end drones, dynamic off-kilter percussion and sweeping atmospherics before acid slay closes, and as the name would suggest lays focus on tripped-out acid licks alongside chugging bass and minimalistic drums.

mentha records calls on the services of hakim murphy to rock a record titled ambidextrous to amphibious. the four track 12 inch illustrates murphys ability to create different styles, tempos, and textures. the a side begins with sickness, which displays a sparkling synth line that grooves from beginning to end. a2 is a beatdown tune called spaceness is filled to the brim with texture and harmonic goodness. an acid house banger called merge starts the flip side that features a bubble acid line and moving percussion. panty hose silences ends the record with its jazzy influenced tones and flowing arp lines. a release that is good for home, club, and warehouse use.

baertaub�s newest release wolke welcomes you with bazalt, a very tight and sharply shaped minimal techno track designed to awake your senses one by one from head to toe with small noisey cuts and bits that show their faces at certain times to draw a sonic geometrical map. next up is a relatively darker track rather than rain which again features those alien bits and is enriched with an unexpected and grande synth melody that somehow fits perfectly with the dark mood and alienating sound of the track. b side opens with the ztrl remix of bazalt which focuses on that witty geometrical face of the track and lifts it to an upper level with slowly building beats and hypnotizing loops. the ep closes off with the title track, wolke, which follows a very interesting trajectory: a tense sounding chord line is softened by a groovy bass and dubby touches and percussive samples which in the end provides an unexpectedly feel good ending to a positively minimal ep.

vanta series is the new series for killekill�s dancefloor music. the releases come in series, every series comes with a theme and one artwork which is being split in several parts to go with each release. the first series is called �the end is near� and features four records. it comes with an artwork by french visual artist elzo durt. vanta 003 comes from eomac under his alias eeoo. eeoo is a side project for what is, in eomac�s mind, straight up, techno-rave-house-jungle- disco influenced, dancefloor material. it draws influence from classic styles of dance music. less dense, less conceptual than the eomac-music. less focussed on texture and atmosphere, a more direct approach for sweaty ravers and moving bodies.

following last years dangerously good depatterning lp, ipman returns to tectonic to deliver his latest instalment in bass-driven technoid mutations. constrict jumps straight into the deep end at 140bpm, diving head first into pulsing waves of warping, dynamic synth layers swimming back up to the surface for air. as the intro build peaks, the track effortlessly strikes when the bass drops in, charging the techno synth interplay with a sort of 3/4-step type rhythm shaping the movements. impeccable dance floor music that sits in an undefined zone between the worlds of techno, dubstep and somewhere yet defined. flip then for running man, which sees a sharp drop in tempo, bringing the speed down to 120bpm but maintaining the energetic build of constrict. starting from an almost empty space, running man takes an upward momentum, building and layering percussion and sonic textures as the heat of the chase takes full effect. dark and deadly, this is one for fans of sci-fi sonics and dread vibrations.

next up creme organization is a return by regular artist lake haze. following his natural insight ep earlier in the year comes intergalactic communicationz, four more fresh tracks of acid, techno and electro that is brilliantly evocative. the portuguese artist known as goncalo salgado also please son labels like unknown to the unknown and is a real hardware master. at the gates ov futron is a turbulent lack track with zipping acid and a cacophony of percussion that is visceral as well as cinematic. drexciyan aquarium is, as the name suggest, an aqueous electro track that slithers and slides through an expansive underwater world. poseidon s dream then offers a more rugged electro groove that is backed by heavenly pads and a real sense of loss in the synths. last of all, intergalactic communication closes out this far travelling and intergalactic ep with a sci-fi deep house track that is filled with light, 909s and a sense that the end of the world is coming.

having launched in 2014 with two members, dutch producers ariaan olieroock and peter kriek, cubicolor now welcome british vocalist and former duologue front-man tim digby-bell into the band as their third member, following much loved collaborations on �falling� and �mirror play� over the past 12 months. in his time with duologue, tim produced, co-wrote and sang on two records acclaimed by the likes of the guardian, nme, diy mag and the line of best fit.

undo (gabriel berlanga) introduces his third album disconnect, with ten songs written, recorded and produced during 2015 and 2016. on disconnect undo blends different influences using both new and old analogue gear combined with digital plug-ins and fx to create his own recognizable sound after more than 10 years on the road. opening track �disconnect� finds undo playing with psychedelic synths and singing shyly. we also hear vocals but in a very diferent mood onthe funny, funky and sexy �computer friends� and on �autómatas�, an electro cut that demands a reaction against the established injustice. there are vocals as well on the last track of the album, this time with an epic vocoder because at the end �we�ve got to fight�. djs will likely gravitate toward the unstoppable trance synth of �the arptist�, the chug-techno tension on �acid prophet�, the shuffled beats and endless harmony of �setembre� and the dreamy melodies of �interferencias� and �sunmachine�.
