derek carr is a name known by few and far between, with only a handful of vinyl releases in the early 2000s, he built a worthy but unfortunately not widely-spread reputation for putting together stunning deep techno. originally pressed in finite numbers, the records have recently found themselves in demand on discogs, and rightly so, derek s music is in a class of its own. having been a big fan since his releases on then local (to label owner ben) leeds label geek records, for those that knoe has dug deep into the archives to put together a sizeable selection of dereks back catalogue, with some unreleased gems dotted amongst the classic must-haves.

pocket money returns for their third release and they are back with what could easily be their strongest output yet. just hitting the ripe old age of one, and a couple of releases in, this label has found its stride nicely and starting to turn heads in the scene. taking the spotlight for the deep basics ep is the producer keepin soul, who may only have a handful of releases to his name but puts himself in the spotlight with this deep and meaningful pocket money release. this is a beautifully dusty sounding record, it opens up doing exactly what it says on the tin deep basics and doing them well. this a1 is all about hypnotic grooves undulating against the drive of crisp, warm and exciting percussive grooves.

‘prepare to commit the name najem sworb to memory’ commanded philip sherburne when he reviewed the strasbourgers previous record for resident advisor. it wasnt a hard ask, sworb makes some pretty incredible stuff. known by some for his fantastic release on the now defunct ai records and famous renow ep on clone basement series (was supported by josh wink, rod, cassy etc.), najem makes his debut here on technorama records! swaying to the uk sound, this ep clearly targets the dancefloor, delivering four genuine techno tracks structured with the trippy spacey savour that najem is known for. enjoy!
