for the past two decades, ivan smagghe has perfected the art of making spaced-out clubbers dance, has ridden a fine line and run his label les disques de la mort. rupert cross is a london-based composer who has worked with michael finissy and julian anderson as well as writing music for television and theatre. before/after ma, an album which sat on the fringes of experimental music passed through an industrial particle accelerator. s&c give you the tracks codenamed timothy dalton (according to ivan, the laser sound in the track reminded us of flash gordon). neither pop, nor psychedelic, nor ambient, nor house, nor techno, nor post punk nor even new wave are spared, but none are singled out. to nurture this proto-album, the duo also called upon the talents of tim felton, the outstanding guitarist from the cult band broadcast.

the first ep from mouse on mars since their anniversary recording 21 again (2014) is clearly connected to their recent club gigs. in fact, synaptics sees the berlin duo embrace their love of juke, footwork and chopped up house music like never before. on its three tracks, andi toma and jan st. werner reinforce the collaborative idea of 21 again: eight different artists have been involved in the making of these tracks, which deliberately depart from a characteristic mouse on mars sound, creating a more organized vibe while still maintaining links to their previous work. there are two directions of research in andi and jan s sonic laboratory: one is focused on experimental club music, the other is in search of music without ties to specific genres. though heavily leaning towards the club, synaptics is caught in between. from the duo s perspective, it even touches pop territory. all three tracks came into existence during the past four years. opener „jack is out- with its pounding lazer stabs is an obvious link to their current club sets as well as a clue on future productions. after months of redesigning and rearranging, it found its final form through an edit by bon iver producer ryan olson aka arson only at his wisconsin studio, where andi and jan also recored for their next album. „bluescreen- was born out of a berlin session with jessy lanza and junior boys and was completed some year later with support from modeselektor. and the tropical funk of „sensitive person-, based on a studio jam with sepalcure, also needed some aging and refinement after a couple of months.

the second new york trax imports record is by endlec from thessaloniki, greece, a rising techno star affiliated with the mord records powerhouse. this thunderous concept ep consists of four recordings produced in april and september of 2016 at utr studios in greece. all tracks were programmed and recorded live in one take with almost no changes to their arrangement. the outcome is unbeatable 90s sounding hard and raw techno, which you rarely hear in the present era of artificially polished sound.

next up on the influential artreform records label is the boss himself, aka kyiv-based dj and producer yevgeniy joss. often turning out tracks that sit high in the juno and decks charts, joss has a high-quality sound that ranges from slick tech to deep house and now he proves that once more.
up first is smooth, an infectious groove with lively synths scurrying about and bringing lots of dynamism to the drums. the percussion is crisp and the whole thing feels spaced out and futuristic. it’s busy and brimming with energy and will get any floor on its toes. sharp is a darker number with more menace in the drums. they are rubbery and supple and run through with edgy little synth lines. the track grows wilder as it unfolds and will really work dance floors into a lather.
once again the master joss shows just why he is such a tastemaker in the underground dance scene.

originally released in 1982, including tracks written for crosstalk (a science fiction thriller film made in australia) and other electronic themes, it was written, performed and recorded by chris neal in his home studio, using roland system 700 and roland mc8. in 1982 there were only a few system 700s ever produced and roland was more interested in promoting their more commercial system 100m (that s why it was credited on the 1982 original cover to give them a plug). the system 700 was developed by taro kakahashi and his team in japan as a direct challenger to the moog modular system. the orbeatize remastered reissue also includes a special bonus track remixed and produced in 2017 by jolly mare.

welcome to the next vinyl record on kickmasomaass records and we are back with next edition of hardgroove planet the second one. the only one real hardgroove techno sound on this planet released on vinyl! all others are only cheese! as always we bringing you also this time four tracks from creme de la creme of hardgroove techno producers. the first one chewy martins has delivered us track called dark shadows and i think that this one is one of his best tracks he has made. excellent dark synths with hard tribal beat and heavy kicks. a dream of every hardgroove fan and one must have for every hardgroove party. second track is from well known andy bsk called machine. this very poor producer from slovakia has finally delivered us one real hardgroove track that has a potential to destroy every club. his beat and sound is so catchy that every hardgroove fan will love this track. the next track on hardgroove planet 2 is from dj gumja called noelom. this slovenian dj and producer has delivered us a track with real hardgroove heart. great tribal beat filled up with a catchy vocal. great work from him! the last track and a grand finale for our hardgroove planet 2 is a track called moon from recycle bot. all fans who is know this producer knows that he is more hardtechno or techno producer as hardgroove but his track moon has something from hardgroove sound too and thats why we have added this track to our compilation. great hard beat with tribal percussions, dark synths and heavy kicks. so thats all for now. hope you all will love this new vinyl record and if you want to show some love then spread a word to your friends about this new release. thanks for all support. enjoy!

dark electronix and electro from assimilation process. a vivid mix of digital processed sounds in combination with field recording and other analogue sound sources. these 6 tracks draw their energy from the severe contrast between melancholy and noise intensified by the rhythmic structures and the instantaneous sound pressure. heavy!!

amsterdam based artist nthng continues to have a busy year. following up an album on lobster theremin and ep on transatlantic, he now lands on delsin with three tracks that touch on driving dub-techno and dreamy ambient. oralage opens with upbeat drum programming and gliding hits that make for a smooth flowing groove. distant pads add some spacey atmospheres and the production is effortlessly warm and driving. a souls search takes time out to drift in the cosmos, with waves of muted euphoria washing over you as you sink into clouds of ambient bliss. lastly, turn to gaia is a dubbed out techno roller, with long legged drums looping down low, reverberating chords adding weight and distant bell sounds charting the whole thing in a harmonic glow. it rounds out a super smooth and seductive ep.

munichs martin matiske started his recording career at fifteen with his stunning ep stars & galaxy for dj hells gigollo records back in 2002. here he dons 4 fresh tracks for the vivod label with his trademark electro sound, somewhere between dopplereffekt, classical & wave. kicking off the ep is die nibelungen, a sort of speak & spell classical piece with an electro backing track. a2 - bayerischer wald is a chord heavy majestic bomb in a 5/4 time signature, maybe a stretch too far for the linear techno dj but thats what makes this ep so interesting. b2 - virtuosic mechanic harks back to his previous work on gigollo records, a more club orientated track which should do some effective damage on the floor. rounding things off is kammermusik, a subtle electro ballad. if you like your electro with a heavy classical influence then this is your ep.

dream control is the collaboration of a legend of the krautrock kosmiche scene and a pioneer of the german electronic scene. zeus b. held, renowned producer (gina x performance and works under his own moniker) and steve schroyder (former member of tangerine dream during their formative period) team up to deliver their debut album -zeitgeber- which celebrates their very own sound and rhythm in a cosmic journey through audio and time. the tracks are a blend of structured compositions and improvisations accented by the throat singing of kolja simon und felix monnich aka alienvoices. the album plays like a technicolor adventure through space with explorations of cosmic disco, dreamlike passages, vocoder lullabies, and space odysseys. zeus b. held began his musical career in 1972 in french progressive art-rock band eruption before joining successful german prog rock group birth control, performing and writing with them 1973 - 1978. he was one of the first musicians to use the sennheiser vocoder vsm 201 in his live sets.
